Texas State is displaying all the dignity of a program that has never been invited to a bowl game.

This is the kind of energy needed for pointless bowl games.  SWT injected some serious FunBelt energy to the so far dull bowl season.
Go Cats Go, Class of 1990!!!!

Happy for them. There is a lot of potential for growth at Texas State. They need to sharpen up their academic standards. They have a bigger enrollment 30k+ that the the privates (Baylor, TCU, SMU) and about 6k less than Texas Tech..

They’re almost at 40k and they have most definitely upped their standards. But more work needs to be done. Great campus and location. The business school is pretty good.
The party school rep is still there even though it’s been tame for over 20 years now.

In 19__ (😁) an issue of Playboy came out with a top 10 party schools in the US  list. At the end of the list there was an asterisked addition that read (not paraphrasing here) “sorry Southwest Texas State University, this is an ameteur ranking only. Professionals are not included.” True story.

Edited for: I met my wife at the Too Bitter club in San Marcos.

Happy for those kids! Congrats on the program getting their first bowl trophy! It’s nice to see Texas State is starting to build a decent program for the Sun Belt conference that can actually compete and that they’re not a punching bag anymore. Also my BIL is a Texas State alum  and he told me if they won the game he was skipping work tomorrow. I’ll text him in the morning to see if he’s true to his word

Congrats Bobcats. My parents lived in San Marcos for years. Always enjoyed the, uh, scenic view down by the river when visiting.
Here's a congratulatory gif of an amazing slowmo bobcat leap in Yellowstone.

That may be one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. Little dude crossed an entire river barely getting wet.

My daughter ( no pics) is a graduate of the Business school. She loved going to school there. And that is saying quite a lot considering the circumstances of her going /finishing up school here in Texas (she grew up in Cali). She had 5 great job offers prior to graduating and still loves going back to campus when she visits us.

Iv'e got too many friends and family that went to and graduated from SWT/ TXST. Heck, I would have gone there myself but at the time , they didn't have a baseball program. I think they started it two years later. A couple of my nieces (twins and sorry no pics of them either), their dad ( though he dropped out and became a Kiowa pilot for the Army, and his best friend from High school both went to school there. His best friend and another roommate were on the National Championship team under Wacker.

That view is still there. When I would stop by to see my daughter to take her to lunch, Sewell was a mandatory drive by for me before picking her up. This summer she wanted me to tag along with her as she showed the campus to her younger brother. The first place she took him to was Sewell Park and of course there was more than one stunner there in very small bikinis. As my daughter didn't use all of my Hazlewood credits, I almost went right then to admissions and enrolled myself.

My uncle gave me a party school ranking from a Playboy in the mid 80s. Could’ve been another porn magazine I guess. It was a card stock pullout. Each school had a couple of cartoons to go with it. I only remember two things from it. Texas was number one with the most popular place to have public sex was any bush on campus and Colorado was #2 with cocaine beating out snow as the most popular powder on campus.

sorry we can’t all be stodgy “blue bloods” who have no sense of fun whatsoever

I'm appreciative of his fandom for our baseball team and his efforts to help with NIL there but that dude is a straight up whales vagina on Twitter.

No shit. Who's going to crap on a fanbase for showing up to cheer their team on to its first ever bowl win. I think the fact that they drank the stadium dry and celebrated with the team on the field is awesome. That's the fun stuff in college football.

Mrs. Brat graduated SWT in 4 years and didn’t drink.
Or so she claims.

She probably missed LBJ by a few years.  My grandmother went there at the same time as him.  My dad has one of the yearbooks still and instead of a picture of LBJ they put a picture of a donkey’s ass above his name.  He obviously wasn’t well liked around campus.

Mrs. Brat was Class of 1967, so decades after LBJ.
