It takes a pathological person to try and zing someone who's loved one/spouse just received essentially a death sentence. I cannot even theoritically understand that mindset. I cannot imagine hating someone so much. I don't know.

Right. I think the argument made was that by concealing it screwed actual D's with a chance (and Kamala specifically) and gave us the felon.

From the article:

I think we all agree that the first 100+ days has been an unmitigated series of disasters and that Biden's barely awake corpse would have done better, but it's more about how the actions-- and the stench of a coverup/hoodwinking-- was a massive political error.

I think a lot of us knew there was more to the story and what met the eyes and it's interesting that now post-mortem analysis and reporting is coming out and the tea is gonna be spilled on some of this, potentially.

Yep. That's totally different perspective than Incredulity spiking the ball. It was a devastating move. It impacted the election. Still, a large majority, according the votiing machines, shows a public embracing the vile. Or acquiescing to it.

Sometimes you call a play that's a disaster. It bears analysis. What is forgotten is that there may have been no effective play to call, only options that still failed.

So, in this case, you get wicked brainwashees (to change metaphors) celebrating a murderer because the cops and DA couldn't find a way to convict him or only managed to convict him for an unregistered firearm.

Detachment has helped me digest this. It's a hateful pill.

T&P to President Biden and his family.  Never liked him as a President, but cancer I would wish on few people.  And cancer in the bone has gotta be extra bad.  Happy trails, Mr. Biden.

Voting for a felon?  Voting for someone with dementia?

We have that right in a democracy, and we deserve who we vote for.

Sympathies and thoughts and prayers to the Bidens and all of us guys (and their families) who have or will get prostate-related scares.

So here's a question for the Daktaris.

Is there any "normal" mental deterioration with age, or is it all "dementia" of varying degree?

Well I’m saying bullshit. Yes it’s possible for cancer to metastasize before being discovered/diagnosed in the general public, but the president of the United States doesn’t get to not have health checks for long periods of time.  So if I’m being asked to believe that this cancer formed and metastasized over the course of a few months, I’m skeptical.

I have yearly checkups and my cancer was rather quick to develop. My PSA was well within normal levels and then spiked on the more recent bloodwork.

Just anecdotal, but my wife's mom, who was 79, started complaining of back pain, and after she saw a doctor, it was about six weeks from diagnosis to death.  Not sure if that's possible with a prostate, but it's not uncommon for cancer to take folks quickly.

It's the Christian way.

And if you want to know why "Christian" has become a fucking toxic brand for many people with a shred of decency and humanity, you've nailed the issue.

The loudest, most aggressive and adversarial "Christians" (PROTECT CHRISTIANS!  WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!  OUR VALUES ARE UNDER ATTACK!) are the exact same people who practice cruelty and a complete lack of basic human decency with near-religious fervor.  The most sacred American "Christian" belief is the belief in the absolute right -- nay, obligation -- to be a complete and total fucking dick.

Ok I can absorb this and temper my opinion.  My general distrust of politicians and their teams does put me in a biased perspective on most things coming from them.

That's completely fair.  I do think the Biden staff, fueled by desperation to avoid another Trump presidency, went out of their way to shield Biden from public scrutiny of his declining mental cognition.  And I think a lot of fellow libs would agree with that.  Whether they knew about and covered up a cancer diagnosis is another matter.

I would wager a large amount that they had indications of the prostate cancer over a year ago as well. No reason to believe that they did not cover that up as well.

Literally everyone I work with, with rare exception, has at least one doctorate. Some clinical doctorates as well, MD, etc. And double dipping. Rare for any of them to introduce themselves as Dr. so and so or use their academic titles in normal professional exchanges. To the extent that they do, more typical for the physicians. Academic settings are of course different. And certainly clinical situations.

And your experience is specific.  So is mine.  In my world -- heavy R&D focused corporate world (some private, some public) -- PhDs are almost universally introduced as "Dr. so and so", and that appellation continues in all external business communications.  Internally?  "Buttface" and "what the fuck, dude" usually suffice, but the fact remains that a terminal degree is recognized, almost always.

Ok, we don’t know the facts yet but let’s just assume they covered up prostate cancer. What point are you trying to make? That it’s bad? They shouldn’t have done that? The American deserved to know?

We have a current President who has never released real medical records, releases fake medical records all the time, had a mysterious surgery that’s never been disclosed (that suspiciously sounded like prostate cancer), and most likely wears diapers currently. So given all this, is the point you wanted to make a worthy comment? Or, did you have a different point?

I don't really care what sort of academic dick measuring contests take place in your industry.

People with PhDs that roll around introducing themselves as Dr so and so outside of academic settings are generally pretentious little twats. And that extends to physicians to a certain extent as well, outside of clinical or academic settings.

We had a clearly mentally declined, demented individual in the role of President. His inner circle ran cover for that. The media ran cover for that. Now they sell books about it. This is all totally normal and cool. Because orange man bad.

All deflection from the fact that we had a clearly declined demented individual in the office, and the DNC and his inner circle and the media all ran cover for it. Whataboutism is cool I guess when it is based on delusions and strawmanning.

I see that we have entered the "bang on the table and yell" phase of the exchange. You are going to have to come to grips with what happened. There will be stages of grief that you have to work through. Its all part of the process if you want things to get better.
