Why didn’t they just build the stadium in typical stadium orientation of N/S?

I thought it was b/c of the underground infrastructure necessary to anchor the retractable roof (I'm sure I've seen/read that before) but after a quick search this is all I found.

So when we were laying out the stadium one thing we wanted to do was make sure the end zones were completely open. It was one of the keys to making sure the stadium did something that no other stadium has ever done before or done since. It transforms from an indoor, 80,000-seat arena to what feels like an outdoor stadium.

"That's the reason the end zones are open and the orientation is the way it is because that's the absolute best alignment to play out the final master plan and in creating the most value in the land around the stadium itself.''

The cherry on top is that Jerry never allows the stadjum roof open during Cowboy games b/c the roof traps in noise and he wants the "home field" advantage.  Of course, when half the crowd is pulling for the opposition...

Wrong thread spambot.

We're searching for someone to explain how anyone can willingly watch the Cowboys who isn't in fact attempting to euthanize themselves.

In the meantime, see my username.

This will be a good test for Stephen when Jerry dies. If he immediately puts up curtains maybe the franchise has a chance of not being the Cleveland Browns for the next 30 years.

Maybe Jerry uses that site for his draft strategy

I don't know what changed this year, but I am enjoying Jerry getting called out for all his bullshit finally.

Yes. There was a point where people who closely followed the team, and longtime fans, recognized and discussed the idiocy and now the idiocy has become so glaringly obvious that no one, anywhere, can ignore it.

In other words, the amplifier of glaring idiocy has gone well past 11 and shows no sign of stopping there.

I've been to 3 Cowboys games at the new stadium where the roof was open.  Typically only do it when the temp is between 55-75 and it's  not very windy.

Listening to the Jerry Jones interview on the fan. He says that he believes that Jason Witten's ability to coach high school at a high level can easily transition to the NFL 🤦‍♂️

Do it Jerry!

It couldn't be worse that McCarthy.  At least as a player Witten demanded discipline and accountability.

Cowboy coaches demand accountability like Lt Commander Galloway does when she strenuously objects. A futile gesture. Cant come down on anyone the big man likes

Jerry really salivates at the idea of not having to pay a coach very much money.

I don't get how you can say this isn't a disadvantage for your team. You play 9 home games every year. 9 times of potentially dealing with it versus just once for any given opponent. The Eagles, Commanders, and Giants aren't out there willingly playing home games blind.

Not a problem till late October is it?

Remember when the brain trust in Indy went with Jeff Saturday?

There are going to be some really shitty sightlines for that fight.  Might as well walk to the upper deck and watch the big screen.

Or, you could get a life and not watch the farce.

I can’t think of a more unwatchable pile of shite than this.

Yeah I had a friend invite me to their fight party and I had to decline on principle.... I hope they have fun but gimmick fights are always a fucking dumpster fire.

Pacman Jones hit a cop

On the arm.

And he could have avoided all of it.

"According to police, Jones continued to yell at the others involved and the officer stepped between them, giving Jones a warning that he would be arrested if he tried to fight again.

Not long after, police said another fight broke out at the bar, again with Jones.

Arlington PD said while the officer and hotel security were trying to separate the people involved, Jones hit the officer on her arm and was subsequently arrested for assault on a peace officer. "

So they opened the roof and a couple panels fell off it. Now they're closing the roof. Just tear the shitty stadium down. That's apparently the only way you can make changes to the stadium.

Hilarious. The one time they decide to open the roof of that goddamn train wreck, the roof starts falling down.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys had planned to open the AT&T Stadium roof for Monday night's game against the Houston Texans, but those plans are on hold because a piece of metal fell to the field as the roof was opening more than two hours before kickoff.

"We can confirm a piece of metal came loose and fell to the field [with some additional small debris] while the roof was in the process of opening," the Cowboys said in a statement. "There were no injuries. It is being reviewed further, and a decision regarding the ability to re-open the roof safely will be made when possible."

The roof has not been open for a Cowboys game in the past two years. In last week's home game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team intended to have the doors open for the game, but they would not open completely.

AT&T Stadium opened in 2009. The Cowboys are 2-5 all time with the roof open and doors closed.

Jerry’s cue for a new stadium campaign……

He'll only ask for the taxpayers to cough up $10 billion for the next stadium. But where would he threaten to move the Cowboys to if Arlington called his bluff?
