Rick Wilson this morning claims that Trump is dying, and Vance knows.  No link, because it's a paid substack. That's why Vance this week has said he's "ready to take over".

Here's a few snippets:

Quote

Slow or fast, he’s headed down," Wilson wrote, adding that there are "rumors" about what comes next. "Rumors from the Trumpverse are that the circle who knows what’s up is very, very small and very, very paranoid."

Quote

"J.D Vance knows, and he’s moving fast. Thursday’s 'I’m ready to take over' remarks are sure to rankle Trump, and set off more of the backstage muttering among the MAGA Hunger Games contestants," according to Wilson. He added, "It’s about to get really, really ugly."

While the comparisons of the US to Nazism and fascism are valid, I would suggest America as Rome is deeper and more valid.

-- Of course, many historians and scholars have noted the parallels for decades.

Watching the US Open Tennis Tourney on ESPN shows Americans boozing it up and partying down ... just like at the all the college and NFL Games coming soon. 1000s of TV channels and streaming sources, millions of videos online, billions of tweets and updates, theme parks galore. Advertisements utterly detached from the reality of what's going down.

It's all endless spectacle as the empire enters it final stage ... with Corporate America, Academic America, the Legacy Media, and 100s of millions in America in near complete denial.

America is Rome in collapse and the following dark age and medievalism will be brutal and bloody ...

The 21st Century barbarians will overrun the country.

-- concentration camps will out number theme parks.

-- in fact, some theme parks might well be converted into "Love America Re-education Camps."

-- Observatories (like UT's McDonald Observatory) converted into God in the Stars Search Centers. Or maybe some MAGAs will just take an AK 47 to the mirrors.

-- witch hunts looking for scientists who believe in vaccines, televised and streaming as reality TV shows.

-- mass arrests and show trials, televised and streaming as law enforcement dramas

-- public executions and stonings

-- purging of faculty and "woke" educators.

-- giant crosses will be mandated on all state capitals and corporate HQs.

-- forced church attendance

-- this list is endless.... feel free to add more.

Lots of people are saying this (really, not like how dotard says it). I've heard estimates of like 8 months to live.

I'm not buying it. He will live for another 10 years somehow.

Well first of all, slower please, I'm almost there. But next, I kind of feel like if that info was out there we would have heard about whatever his condition is already.

But with this crew who knows. That diagnosis may have come from JFK Jr.

If he's really dying, what we need is for someone to get in his ear and tell him that the only way into heaven is to do a sit-down televised interview where he confesses all of his sins.

This news is making me question the sufficiency of my champagne levels.  Luckily, Twin Liquors dollar days sale in progress.

Also, no other person in the MAGAverse wields the same ability to create the same level of fealty.  I expect people to come out of the woodwork with book deals about how bonkers shit has really been behind the scenes (and how they heroically stood vanguard against things getting really bad).  People will try to fill the vacuum of hate, but there is no second string QB who can pour the Koolaid like this orange Jim Jones.  Jim Jones Jr. ain't walking through that door.

Republican Storms Out of Back Door After Being Laughed at During Town Hall

https://dnyuz.com/2025/08/29/republican-storms-out-of-back-door-after-being-laughed-at-during-town-hall/

This happening in Alabama can't be the worst thing in the world. I just hope it ultimately matters.

Anyway, this shit-head is running for Tuberville's Senate seat as that moron runs for governor of Alabama.

Quote

A Republican congressman left a heated town hall via the back door after he was relentlessly laughed at and heckled while trying to defend President Trump.

Rep. Barry Moore was hammered with tough queries—and more than a few heckles—during a raucous town hall in Daphne, Alabama.

The tense showdown was captured in a 40-minute video from the advocacy group Indivisible Baldwin County. It shows Moore squirming under relentless questioning about Medicaid cuts, the closure of rural hospitals, Trump-era tariffs, immigration crackdowns, abortion bans, and even the deployment of the National Guard in Washington, D.C..

Moore’s attempts to respond were drowned out with laughter and interruptions. At one point, the audience openly mocked his evasive answers.

By the end of the night, the Republican lawmaker had had enough, cutting things short and slipping away through an exit rather than facing his increasingly hostile crowd.

At one point, a woman asks, “Why are people not getting due process? Why are immigrants not getting due process?” Moore’s answer went down like a lead balloon. “So, due process for a citizen and a non-citizen are different things.” He was drowned out by loud jeers and cries of “false!”

Moore in the midst of being grilled by his constituents. Indivisible Baldwin County

Moore continued speaking into his mic, but he couldn’t be heard over the crowd’s reaction. Failing to restore calm, he turned to an aide who took the mic from him before he headed for the exit to chants of “shame!”

The question about due process provedto be the tipping point, but Moore had been grilled all night in Baldwin County, an area where proved toDonald Trump won 78.4 percent of the vote in the 2024 presidential election.

Asked what he viewed as Donald Trump’s “most meaningful” accomplishment, Moore cited border security. The audience responded with laughter, loud jeers, and chants of “Next question.” He was also accused of “lying” after asserting that Medicaid cuts in Trump’s megabill would apply only to undocumented immigrants.

Moore was laughed at when he said Trump’s “most meaningful” accomplishment is border security. Alex Wong/Getty Images

Moore did not offer closing remarks or say good night as he exited the event in Daphne, a suburb of Mobile.

In an interview on Thursday on The Dale Jackson Show, a conservative Alabama podcast and radio program, Moore denied slipping out the back. “We left like any other event,” he said. “I think we tried to engage and answer questions, but unfortunately, it got hijacked.”

Moore added that he was “so calm” throughout the event and insisted he “doesn’t mind facing the heat head on.” He attributed the disruptions to “some of the same bad actors,” who he said he had seen at other appearances.

The Alabama congressman, first elected in 2020, is now running for Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s seat as Tuberville campaigns for governor.

Moore claimed in a radio interview that there was nothing weird about his exit. AMANDA ANDRADE-RHOADES/REUTERS

Since Donald Trump re-entered the White House in January, numerous Republican lawmakers have faced intense backlash during in-person town halls. Rep. Warren Davidson was booed over Trump-sponsored policies in Ohio, and, amid sweeping DOGE cuts in February, Rep. Rich McCormick in Georgia was heckled for justifying Elon Musk’s work.

Rep. Mark Alford was the latest GOP lawmaker to host a contentious live event during the August recess. On Monday, voters at a town hall meeting in Missouri demanded that the Republican congressman denounce President Donald Trump’s “lies”—and told him to get his head “out of Trump’s a— .”

Moore did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.

Not Trump’s style. He doesn’t play defense, only offense. The Mike Leach of politicians. If Trump wants to talk his way into heaven, it will be more like this:

”Jesus is low energy. Really. What God just sits there and lets a couple of Romans nail him to a cross? You have all this power, lightning bolts and floods and all that. Why not use it and save yourself? It’s not very pleasant, having your hands nailed to a cross. Maybe use your God powers to smite those Romans. I’m kidding. But many people are saying maybe I should have been Jesus. ‘Sir, you would never let the Romans nail you to a cross.’ Maybe they’re right about that. We’re looking into it. We have lots of very smart people who are looking at the Bible to see if I can be Jesus. Maybe I can. Maybe I can. We’ll see what they find out, but I think that maybe I can be Jesus.”

GOP Voter 1: Remember when he ran out the back door because he couldn't answer any questions about how our lives haven't gotten better?

GOP Voter 2: Yep. But that rich Democrat paid those people to be in the crowd and harass him and hijack his forum.

GOP Voter 1: Oh. Wow. Didn't realize. Either way, he's still better than that liberal, woke, Democrat.

GOP Voter 2: Yep. Not my favorite, but gets my vote because I don't want my daughter getting molested or murdered by an immigrant or man wearing a dress.

GOP Voters are a lost cause it's pressing the attack for all the non-GOP voters

Thirty-seven percent of voters approve of the way Donald Trump is handling his job as president, while 55 percent disapprove. In Quinnipiac University's July 16 poll, 40 percent of voters approved and 54 percent disapproved.

In today's poll, Republicans (84 - 9 percent) approve, while Democrats (98 - 1 percent) and independents (58 - 31 percent) disapprove.

I quite seriously doubt Trump is doing anything beyond golf and mouthing off his usual bullshit.  Him dying, while absolutely worth celebrating, will change very little of what's going on.   Shit, how may slightly embarrassed conservatives say "I don't always like him as a person, but I agree with his policies?" Also Rick Wilson is a shitbird who has cashed in rather well figuring out how to make a buck as an anti-trump neocon.

R voters love what's going on right now.  That doesn't change with dead Trump. In fact, can already hear how 'in the name of Trump we do this horrible thing now.'

Yeah, none of this dies with Trump.

He's a puppet and the infrastructure that's pulling his strings is very well established.

Vance will be just as much of a puppet, while also being in on it, and not stupid.  I see little reason to hope that this country will stop racing toward disaster with him at the controls.

This is all true.

But, without Trump, I think they lose the base.  Is anyone really going to vote for the likes of JD Vance?  To answer, I think yes some will on the theory that it continues Trump's policies.  But I think there are a substantial number of MAGAts that will lose all enthusiasm and go back to not voting.   And I think a lot of "independent," "it's the economy" dumb-dumbs won't vote for a guy like Vance.

Vance taking over would probably be worse because he wouldn't do it the things the infrastructure wants to do in a more efficient behind the scenes way where as Trump's blabbering way.

Making the big assumption that things continue to operate as they have in the past (huge assumption) then yes, R's will continue to vote R.  Fox News isn't going away. The Electoral College isn't going away.  It will always be close and Americans aren't getting smarter.

Sure, but I think a lot of the reason that these people end up in a cult of personality is that they're very susceptible to suggestion.  It's not an accident that they're all religious, too, etc.

And I think Rogan, Fox News, OAN, etc can sell them JD Vance just as easily as they sold them Donald Trump.

Plus, they're rigging all of the infrastructure as we speak.  Even if it does somehow magically become possible for a Democrat to win in spite of their overwhelmingly bad public perception right now as a group, they won't get a fair election anyway.

I think this country is turbo fucked for a generation, at least.

I hope I'm wrong.  But I think Donald Trump is a symptom, and the disease is much more entrenched.

Trump going would be a fairly big deal.

Trump brings a decades long established "authentic" personality that nobody else in the dugout is going to be able to recreate.

People are stupid and many don't use the greatest advantage humans have as a species much to their advantage.  However, what still works very well for most people is the basic lizard brain, animal instincts, that Trump taps into.  It's how he's gotten away with saying so much insane stuff as people just giggle and say, "oh that's just Trump being Trump.  He appeals to the people who get sucked into insane wrestling screeds and storylines (sorry not sorry if you like wrestling) and he does it extremely well.  Attempts to fake that by others will trigger the lizard brain to pull away.

Don't get me wrong we still have the basic Brisket problem of "what do we do with all the dumbasses?" but it would dial them back some

Both schools of thought are correct.

This movement gets fuel injected straight into the carburetor by the personality cult that Trump inspires.  When he goes away, that boost goes away.

BUT.....the GQP has built a shitload of backup and other boosters/suppression of opposition behind him.

The question is whether the second thing will be enough to make up for it when the first thing dies/goes away.  I think it will come close.

But still, humanity will be better off in general the instant he breathes his last.  It will be one of the most momentous, positive developments for humanity since the development of plumbing.  And under both secenarios, shit gets flushed away.
