Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Pining For IOLs Who Can Fog A Mirror

Well started watching the Oregon/Oregon State full game replay to get a sense on Sikorski and the first snap for Oregon State certainly wasn't a great start.

I'm not an OL guy, but he looks competent but weak. Lacked strength to move anyone but also I only saw one Stroh where he completely whiffed because the DL wasn't where he thought he should be. The sad news is that he was not great from what I saw, but he would have also been better to have on the field than the guy we were starting at LG that week. I don't know, he can fog a mirror and could get stronger. Ringing endorsement, sure, but that's where we are IOL-wise.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but can we just get the guy on some steroids and see what happens?

You are not wrong for questioning why Flood is on this staff. I agree with you. Which probably isn’t much of a comfort since 90% of the board thinks I’m wrong about everything.

I am 💯 with ya. Flood should be gone.

I just want to get some lineman who have played more than 5 games and not just a bunch of tackles.i don’t care if these guys are big names or from the WAC. All I care about is Can they protect Arch and can they help us get our new RBs the ability to routinely get 100 yds per game bc we only had one running back get over 100 yds one game this year and it was against Aggy and that RB is gone.

Does anyone have Any idea who per-se is? At all? Or is this just a bit? Like per-se is the next guy to visit?

I’m also agreeing with whatever posters who are saying to not get excited about any Michigan portal people. It’s all a ruse. Buncha Cheaters,

Jeez, a beautiful Horns loving woman. Totally agree with your takes. I'm a bit more brutal and if Flood isn't send packing, it's Sark's demise. We can't get OL under him, 5 years of history. Recruit one project yearly and the rest bread after his first year. Nope, Texas can do better. ^The BS that we held Flood for the Bowl game is just that pure BS ... No problem killing PK and letting Nansen call the defense.

I'd say kill Flood and his BS would be great. Get a real OL coach that recruits talent, not 3* projects.

Heard an interesting stat this morning as it relates to portal strategy on the ticket. The Blue Chip ratio of college teams (% 4 and 5 star recruits/transfers on a team) that compete for the title historically has been very high. Ohio State has been 80-90%. Alabama was high, etc.

Indiana this year is 8%. It is amazing what they have done considering their talent. However, they also have one of the most experienced teams, with an average number of starts per player of 32. TCU a few years ago also made it to the title game with a lot of experienced players

So in thinking about the chaos going on right now, maybe there’s a strategy to include some guys from lesser programs with fewer accolades, who also are very experienced. Like, for example, a lineman from an Ivy League school. They will be cheaper and maybe complement the blue chips well.

OTF said turntine was coming in at 275.

Real job. It's less interesting than whatever you're imagining so no real need to click on this box.

Beaumont (and the Eastern District of Texas) is a preferred forum for plaintiffs in IP litigation.

Old news. In the Eastern District, it was Marshall, Longview and Tyler.

Venue reform fixed that some years ago.

Bingo, we need 2-3 IOL period. Probably a OT and RB and 2 WR just to register. We've done absolute shit at these areas. A scat back type RB is great, where is the power back for 3&1 etc? Cooper as a freshman?

So reading the tealeaves on Coleman - If he wants to play with someone who is going to get him to the next level in his final season, his choices are:

Arch Manning in Sark's offense with weapons around him

Marcel Reed in first time play caller Holmon Wiggin's offense with no weapons around him

Brendan Sorsby in second year playcaller Mack Leftwich's offense in the B12

First year starter Keelon Russell in Deboer/Grubb's offense with less weapons around him

To me the choice seems fairly obvious unless he just wants to be home in Alabama, but I doubt that is the case.

He sat the bench on a title team and is now retroactively, with the help of the ever scrupulous Ole Miss and Tom Mars, trying to claim he was sick and couldn't play. He also doesn't have any documentation. This is someone attempting to throw the one thing out that everyone wants to keep - some semblance of an eligibility guard rail. Pavia fucked everyone by getting the Juco rules waived. The NCAA screwed the pooch with the corona year. No one wants to see the 5 years to play 4 rule go away. If Chambliss wins this, and this is one that the NCAA isn't guaranteed to lose, then we will see 30 year olds playing. At that point, just cut the scholarships and school ties from the teams and start over.

My bet is that he will stay on the roster, get paid, be allowed to practice, and magically be eligible before our game with them on the 10/24. Maybe a week earlier so he gets some game time first.

BYU has a bunch of olds. And they just cannot get to that next level but may break thru in 2026x

The thing is that Cig is just a hell of a HC and he is amazing at spotting talent which is what his dad was good at and what Cig was good at under Saban at Bama and when he was building JMU and doing well there he created a pipeline for Indiana once he took the job. Saban said it last night that Cig has an extraordinary eye for talent. Like next level, So we need older players who are team captain types (Texas Tech did this the past year) and we clearly better scouts, and a better GM and to fire Flood after this year if we do not play for a MNC in 2026. Because we absolutely will win shit if we can win in the trenches and that’s where we have been to put it kindly anemic the past three years.

So is the guy from Princeton is he even likely? I don’t want to get attached to the idea we could get him. Same for Coleman or any of the other names that are being floated. I missed a lot in the thread bc was on phone with uncle.

Juice played really against Bama. It was the only FSU game I caught this year. Dad is a coach in Katy. Mom and dad were both scholarship athletes at Grambling. His older LJ is in the Warriors organization. Super athletic family.

Well, she's a serial killer, and you're dying, so either that's not a dealbreaker or she'll find your weakened condition boring and of no challenge. On the other hand, you might be rich, and you're dying. Shoot your shot, I guess.

Great family. I think Jr. is overseas hooping? I’m sure they’d be happy to have Juice back close to home. May get back some of what was lost when Gbenda left. 3rd/4th and 1 is a lot more tricky with two backers that can fit the A gap.

* edited as I just saw upthread that Jr. is playing for the Warriors. Wow!

I actually differ on Cig. It’s not that he has an eye for talent, he knows exactly the type of player he wants and needs. It’s not about the best guy, it’s about the right guy.

I’m taken. Heart has belonged to someone else for the past four years.

But if that were that not the case, I'm positive could build something out of our mutual dislike of Flood and Harris. 🤘🏼

I’m still concerned about the oline because the past 3 years don’t inspire much confidence. Hoping that these new additions via the portal will somehow keep it from being a liability.

Wonder who will become available from tonite’s contest? Did Cig have a lot of attrition (leaving via portal) last year?
