Shout out to the dickheads I asked today that said we were paying at 2 pm.

Google searches, the Texas Baseball site, TV and several other online sources are helpful places to gather such information . . . dickheads not so much.

I didn’t understand why we took out walker when we did unless we were just unwilling to let him give up a 0-0 lead. Their contact against him was absolutely pathetic and they had no business having 2 runners on with 2 outs.

I think Schloss saw it as a big early moment in the game and really wanted the out, so he went with the right-handed pitcher against their righty batter. Simple as that.

Really reinforces how little he cared about the SEC tournament lol

That was impossible to see when he tagged Mendoza from that view.

Like Moreland, I saw a tag when coordinating the two angles they kept showing.  That said, it was f'n close and he was called safe on the field, so I get why it wasn't overturned.

Or maybe I just saw it wrong and me & Keith need to stfu.

I didn’t listen to any postgame but they clearly had a plan to use Walker more as an opener and keep bullets in the chamber for later in the weekend/ Monday if necessary

there is no way you can bitch about that move at this point in the proceedings

I mean you can, because surly, but that’s the only reason

I thought Walker was doing fine and I definitely questioned pulling him.

I called us pulling Saunier as soon as it happened. And then Hudson was nails.

Later, on 2nd base, Jonah was either attempting to relay signs to Galvan at the plate or just faking it. His helmet grab signal didn’t appear to be consistently correct but he did it at least 3 times. Maybe being an asshole is part of Jonah’s game.

Who did Max’s liner into our dugout hit?

Jonah’s slide into 2nd was so shitty and unnecessary. If you can eject a baserunner, he should’ve been ejected. He rolled his body to slide high. Its hard to recall a dirtier slide as a Texas fan.

I don't get this commentary. From what I saw Jonah was a total star today and routinely displayed shit that you can't gameplan for. He's a complete menace on the base paths.

I'm not sure if you start him going forward but you have to at least pinch-run or sub in this kid going forward.

He's so. Fucking. Sick.

Anyone with a brain can see how special this kid is.

Well I was at the game and my view was obstructed. We'll see if it becomes a pattern.

Because the rest of his game is awesome. I would hate for him to be a dirty player. It is hard to find a guy with his abilities.

Yeah. Jonah is one of the most exciting freshmen on our team. His potential is crazy.

Nothing about that play was dirty. Jonah ran straight through that fucking bitch.

Read the scouting report next time.

This kid should be starting LF the rest of the postseason.

Another minor detail that may or may not matter is Texas will bat in the bottom half tomorrow with UTSA having been the home team tonight

I don’t remember, do we keep the first base dugout throughout regardless?

or do we flip to 3rd when we’re the visitor in the winners bracket Sunday?

Max Weiner sitting alone in the middle of the stands watching UTSA beat K-State. Love this dude.

Agreed. 👍

You can’t beat the Weiner all alone in the stands.

You just can’t beat it.

Atrocious? We had 4 steals.

Not including the Borba dipshittery (who - while we're piling on - is apparently a "jackass" from a kid that knows him) we were fine. And Jonah is an absolute menace (granted when he broke that kid's collar bone he should have been thrown out).

There are two sides in an inning. 1 team has the top side and the other the bottom side. It’s like that in every baseball game. Not just the regionals.

I would think he might be complaining about the fact that we are visitors at all while hosting as we earned that. It should be like a series on the road for the non host teams.

Strategically visiting teams arguably have a slight advantage if you remove crowd and travel.

You get up (or down) big in the first few innings and can decide which arms to rest or ride

Jonah being a really good player that’s fun to watch and a particular slide being dirty are 2 different things.

Maybe he’s an uncoordinated slider and it was an accident, but he spiked a dude so hard in the chest he had to leave the game lol

Because imagine if a game in this tournament didn’t include the hosting team OR if this same format of tournament was played at a neutral site. The rules of the tournament attempt to make it fair with respect to getting to bat last.

Are you talking about the slide where his cleat hit an opposing player in the chest? Yes, the opponent was falling over trying to catch the ball Jonah surely has enough body control to slide into the base rather than above it, spikes-up. Maybe he’s an uncoordinated slider and it was an accident, but he spiked a dude so hard in the chest he had to leave the game lol

On his initial slide his foot hits the ground in front of the base and pops up. Looked unintentional to me

Used to be we didn’t even get to play the Eyes over the speakers or have our walk up songs. Essentially the idea was it’s a host site not a home host site.

I can't find a replay now, but when I saw it yesterday I didn't see anything dirty. If you're lying on the ground in front of the base, your chest may get spiked.

Wait until he finds out we can’t play The Eyes of Texas over the PA at all.

Slides way short and hits turf first with slide foot(misses dirt).

The throw is farther first base side than ideal and the fielder is now significantly In front of the bag (1st base side) to field the throw

The tournament format is stupid antiquated garbage. The Host school should be the Home team throughout until their elimination and then the #2 seed takes over and so on in that case.

Why do people bitch about this every year?  Home team is not that big of a deal and I'm sure the coaches voted on this format.

I just think it's silly. It's not a big deal. It's like basketball teams not wearing white at home - which went out the window a long time ago.

That was a terrible slide.  The truth is had he been kicked out it was earned, intentional or not.

Why exactly do we need spikes?

I watched it live and it didn't look dirty. the 2B was pulled down and way 1B side.    when you slide initially your lead foot is in the air.  not sure if it is a thing for Jonah but he is leading with his left foot on the slide.  If he leads with his right he probably misses or grazes him.

I don't see anything malicious. it was a hard slide, not late, directly to the bag, and the fielder caused some of the action because he was pulled 1B side.  maybe the 2B should get there early enough or not dive into the runner to catch a shitty throw.  the guy is in well in front of the bag and almost on the fucking ground.

shit happens. dirty is spikes up at the bag with the fielder in a normal tagging position.  this is none of that.  It's like people have never played baseball before.  guess what, you might get hurt.

Wasn’t dirty slide. Was bad throw from catcher and 2B was damn near horizontal and pulled towards 1B.

Could argue Jonah slid way too early but wasn’t a dirty play

This. 2B came way to the side. Rough play, not dirty.

Jonah is moving fast, he might have to slide earlier than Borba or Schuessler
