Ignoring Hamm’s douchiness for a second, did Footwork King lie to EJ?

No...EJ misinterpreted FK replied to Hamm. When Hamm posted that Shepherd and Demas would be in CS, FK responded with, "I guess they are driving themselves, huh? *emoji emoji emoji*"

EJ thought he meant that he wasn't taking them, so they weren't visiting.

Apparently FK was actually telling Hamm to include that he was the one driving them there.

That’s how I read the fwk response. If EJ didn’t, he’s genuinely stupid.

This may be true, but it's not because of of misinterpreting FWK. A reasonable person could interpret that statement either way.

If Jimbo has a no-visit policy for recruits, so should we. The fact that we're 5-1 and this sort of thing is still happening is bullshit.

The facebook post you're responding to says Demas is visiting Ohio State and Jimbo knows about it. No-visit policies don't have any teeth when it comes to top recruits.

Eh. I don't agree with this sentiment at all. It's easy to bluster that shit out there when aTm is paying kids again, and their handlers, who will do the dirty work of keeping kids committed for them. For us, it would just be  something that others schools found to use against us. We've made good hay being the guys who are telling kids to take time and make decisions and not play the antiquated Mack Brown bullshit. Besides, Shepherd is a head case. A no visit policy won't matter to a kid like him, he's going to do what he wants and then we're stuck looking like an idiot if we don't pull his scholly. Just like you won't see Jimbo pulling Demas's scholly for visiting us. Just like 38 different commitments never stopped Jordan Elliot from doing whatever the fuck he wanted when whatever wispy butterfly of a thought winged through his airy cranium.  I think we're playing this shit just fine.

Visiting aggy at literally the first opportunity after our win against OU is honestly enough to pull the scholarship in my eyes (and why I could never be a head coach). Waiting until December to flip is such a giant red flag, too.

Granted, this is information from Hamm, so who knows what is actually happening.

Probably. Kid seems like a flake, and aTm is 100% offering him more attention at the moment, plus his boy is committed there. The fact of the matter is that if it wasn't for the perception of it all, UT might not even be taking this kids calls or texting him right now. This is pure speculation, but if UT does get a surprise commit from any big national recruit, like a McCoy or Sanders type, you'll probably see this guy fall by the wayside in short order. Or he'll flip and we'll announce a big kid immediately thereafter.

Hamm is in bed with footwork king.  He gives him open access to his workouts with these kids.  Honestly a very weird relationship between those two.

I understood it when Hamm was at 247 and was promoting/advertising FWK's name to a huge audience.  But now that Hamm is facebooking to a half-dozen people from the storage locker he's living in - I don't get it.

I wonder if Demas basically being brothers with Shepherd has more to do with it than perception

As confident as hammster sounds he still completely hedges his "prediction." So I call bullshit on all of it.

Also that some random fb poster would write something out of the blue in support of hammster and his "sources." Total bullshit. Sock. hammster is an aggy bitch and remains on a descent into madness.

Totally agree. Hamm saying "60/40" odds that he flips has zero weight. I could have written that report.

Any recruit that visits aggy has the same report written after the visit, be it Looch, Perroni, Hamm, or any of their minions. I will condense it for you:

"I am told the player was blown away by what he saw. Loved the facilities. Jimbo made a huge impression on him. I feel we are in the lead to sign him on NSD regardless of his status at other schools".

When Shephard visits us again, I am sure our writers will make us all feel good about it.

I have been concerned on Shephard since about a day after we signed him when he let it be known he was still looking. At this point I don't even count on him being here until after he signs.

Here's a Shephard piece from EJ

Spoiler

It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Javonne Shepherd.

After spending some time away from his team, the four-star offensive lineman out of Houston North Forest is back and looks better than ever.

“I’ve been working out before and after practice,” Shepherd said. “I’m in the weight room all day. I weighed 346 pounds, but I’m down to 312 pounds. It took me about a month, but I’ve been working hard.”

On the recruiting front, Shepherd made a verbal commitment to Texas over the summer. However, he has been very open about making other official visits before signing with the Longhorns.

So where exactly does his commitment stand?

“I’m solid right now,” Shepherd said. “I’m making visits because it’s the process. I understand I picked Texas. I picked Texas for a reason. But I just have to see and make sure. I love Texas. It’s a great school, and every time I go there, the environment is great.”

Shepherd added that he has been impressed with the Longhorns’ strong start on the field this season and improved play upfront.

“Man, they are rolling,” Shepherd said. “I like what they are doing with the offensive line. When I get there, it’s going to be better (laughs). The offensive line is rolling, too. It’s great.”

Shepherd plans to make visits to Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M, which is considered the biggest threat in his recruitment.

The Aggies actually hosted Shepherd for an unofficial visit on Monday and are still actively recruiting him.

“I mean, I just talk to them,” Shepherd. “When you’re committed to a school, they don’t recruit you as hard as when you’re open. But they are just keeping in contact and things like that.”

Shepherd is looking to make an unofficial visit to Texas this weekend when the Longhorns host Baylor.

At 6-foot-6, 346 pounds, Shepherd is ranked as the No. 23 offensive tackle and No. 216 overall prospect in the country, per 247Sports Composite.

Is it kind of a fluff piece? Yeah

But at least he's posting on a real site, has quotes from the kid, and doesn't sound like a total homer.

Hamm is going to pump up this Demas/Shephard story nonstop. FWK is his only point of access. He will have nothing to report without them.

Hammster is many things, but a legit recruiting analyst is not one of them. Nor is he a business owner. What he is, is a fan with a Facebook page. He is inexplicably buddies with one trainer who is clearly and obviously pushing the limits of NCAA compliance. He is definitely an aggy booster as he has season tickets (if he can still afford them) and has made donations to his school. I sincerely hope Hamm is the one who is making the Malik Hornsby video. This is going to be the year when it finally ALL comes crashing down for Hamm. Get your jumbo popcorn ready.
