this seems like a pretty big deal.  Assuming trump is trying to get them thrown out.  What does GA law say about mail ins?

Those don’t count because they weren’t there at 7pm on Election Day.

Yep. I thought it was pretty clear yesterday that the usps stole the Georgia election by delaying the mail in Atlanta.

Yep, found and delivered just in time for them not to be counted. Dejoy is very sorry, will do better, blah blah blah.

I'd argue this was going to happen with either party winning the election. General distrust in Trump, general distrust with media, complete distrust in our voting system and how we collect/count votes.

Your first distrust is a result of Trump's 20,000 lies and all the defaults of his business "success."

Your second and third distrusts were generated among Trumpists by some of the 20,000 lies he told.

The "general" distrust of the media is inaccurate. Some absolutely trust FOX. Some absolutely recognize it and other propaganda outlets as largely untrustworthy. Conversely, FOX Trumpists distrust the actual news media because they've chosen to believe the lies spewing from Trump, Trumpists, and the right wing hate engine.

Nixon-Reagan-Trump have been devastating for this country.

Everyone knew PA was going to go into overtime with its vote count due to their state leg not allowing early counts of early votes.  Did no one in their office realize there was a national fucking election on the calendar right next to this Administration Day?

Possibly intentional to drag things out to make the no counting early rules look stupider?

Not only the presidential race, but maybe more importantly almost stole a senate seat by preventing a run off.  Thankfully Perdue will probably fall short of 50%.

I think it’s pretty clear, at least in the red senate seats that people wanted trump gone but we’re scared by the rhetoric around socialism and votes for Biden but split their ticket for congress.

Do you think that had Trump won that Democrats would be defending the integrity of the voting system and the legitimacy of Trump's second term while urging people to stay calm?

100% yes.

No, they would be bitching about the electoral college again

That's a tough one. I have no doubt the USPS was politicized and intentionally slowed down. But putting it in the mail on Sunday, there's no guarantee they get there by Tuesday (especially since they wouldn't be picked up until Monday, meaning they would need to be delivered overnight). Most election boards were suggesting you drop them in the mail a week before the election. My wife's lazy ass told me on Monday her ballot was ready to be mailed and I said you know it has to get there by tomorrow right? And since it was based on covid emergency they could not be hand delivered (a weird Oklahoma rule about absentee vs covid as the reason for mail). So I sent it by overnight delivery for $7. I did not pay the extra $15 to guarantee overnight. It got there and was recorded.

In the tweeted fact pattern, I don't think there is a valid argument that they should be counted based on USPS shenanigans. If ballots postmarked a week or more before the election start showing up, I think there may be a basis for some sort of class action lawsuit, but the election should be called by then. It'll also depend on the number. If hundreds of thousands of ballots were mailed a week or more before the election and not deliverd by election day, it could be a major story.

You should probably read the other replies once you have brushed up on reading comprehension. The question is of fraud and competence vs. structural outcomes.

The only remaining ballots there (35,000) need to be “examined”. A big group of of those, potentially as many as 29,000, are from voters that got the wrong ballots. The company in Ohio that printed those ballots assigned the wrong addresses. So you may have had the wrong down ballot races on your ballot. I don’t know what they plan to do with those. The rest are ballots that didn’t have the security envelope or were damaged in the mail. Those won’t be examined until tomorrow for some reason

shocking

Honest question: where are you seeing that all of those ballots were put in the mail on Sunday?

Thanks, I'll get right on the 100+ pages since I read anything before my shower this morning.  Can only check in between work stuff.

My statement is true that if Biden loses the EC with >50% of popular vote there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

(I voted for Biden)

I agree the people like to split their ticket.  Now the question is how long joe lasts, and how it affects mid terms.  If joe doesn’t look healthy enough to make it through his entire term, voters might vote heavy r in 2022 to insulate against Harris.
