So does anybody here know if this is true about losing pension and benefits if you are retired military and commit seditious conspiracy and/or insurrection? Because even if you are in full tactical gear just minding your own business on the Senate floor, you musta discussed a reason for zip ties and cosplay, I would think. This fucking guy is bout to lose his benes from his life's work. and all I can think of is to do this little song and dance in celebration:

He’s already said he wore the gear to protect himself from potential antifa attacks, and that he found the zip ties on the floor and picked them up to give to the cops, but forgot to.

I hear that many people are saying that the greyhound bus will let just about anyone on who has a buck or two. It’s a good crowd. Salt of the earth.

After 9/11 my uncle, who was a partner at one of the (at the time) Big 6 accounting firms,  had to rideshare in a Ford Escort with 3 strangers to get back to Dallas from Chicago.  He figured it out.

Could you imagine answering a ride share ad to drive across the country with the QAnon or MAGA people? I might last a block before I telling them to pull over.

The real lesson is of course to fly home ASAP after storming the capitol. Hanging around for a few days of sightseeing in DC bit them in the ass.

the Jenna realtor must hope that her friend will continue to fly her around in a private plane since she must be on that no fly list as well.

That's what some of them did.

That's kind of interesting because I don't recall seeing any video or photos of him doing anything unlawful other than being inside the capitol building.

I assume that many of these people are going to defend by asserting that they were "admitted" by Capitol Police.  That obviously isn't going to work for those shown breaking windows or barging past security.  Maybe there are signs or something (Congress in session:  no admittance without authorization).

I guess they could be charging anyone they can identify on the premises (as opposed to outside) and letting them defend their presence however they can.  That seems pretty appropriate because the ride may be as much punishment as the time.

You don’t want me on that jury, counselor.  Guy showed up for sedition, dressed prepared for sedition, actively entered the “sedition zone.” But his defense is entrapment because the anti-sedition forces failed to keep me out?  Hang him out to dry as a seditionist.  He’s guilty as shit and doesn’t deserve the privileges that he was born into.

Akin to arguing it’s not burglary or breaking and entering because the door was unlocked.

The reason he did it is because there was a shortage of rental cars and there was some sort of actual bulletin boards in hotel lobbies for people to connect with others going to the same place.  I believe at that time in the UT internet universe we were either on the Austin 360 site or an early version of Hornfans.

yeah but he didn’t really mean it, or he wasn’t able to do it, or antifa did it, or MAGA!

Fuck him. Send his ass to prison along with all the other MAGA traitors. Send a message.

They have a "just following orders" defense because the commander in chief told them to march on the Capitol. I for one think it would be a rank injustice if these people go to jail and Trump does not. I know all the arguments against prosecuting the former head of state but this is a very special case.

This reminds me too much of what happened after nazi Germany lost.

The rioter was going to hand the cops devices that cops use to detain rioters?
Two things funny about that (if it were true):
1. That is an outstanding amount of white privilege to assume the cops wouldn’t immediately detain you with it as you storm the Capitol.
2. He was right.

Yeah, but why was he in the building?  That is enough.  Nothing else matters.

According to that, all windows and doors and entrances to the Capitol were locked.

So that means they all broke in, or went in through busted windows or doors.

Which makes it even more inexplicable that some officers just waved them on it.

I didn't say it would work.  But the usual statute, 18 USC 1752, requires that you knowingly enter a restricted area without authorization.  Some of that waving in looked a hell of a lot like authorization.

The other statute that's going to be commonly at play here is specific to the Capitol and encompasses all kinds of bad acts. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/40/5104

Unfortunately, unless you bring a weapon into it, the maximum penalty is six months.

Yet

Early 2017 I was in an Uber in DC...Driver was from Cameroon. I was kinda drunk and apologizing to him for our shitty president and assured him Trump would be impeached soon. The driver just laughed and roared (imagine heavy Cameroonian accent) "The only way that man leave office is with bullet in head!"

Among them was Lonnie Leroy Coffman, 70, an Alabama grandfather who drove to Washington to attend Trump’s “Save America Rally” in a red GMC Sierra pickup packed with an M4 assault rifle, multiple loaded magazines, three handguns and 11 Mason jars filled with homemade napalm, according to court filings.

Bamachick, they got your ex-boyfriend.
