Motorcycles only? A little too narrow even for that. Maybe some hairbrained Cali scheme to drive people to EV's? Lulz

My basset came from a breeder in Bandera, so he had to have a “cowboy” name, so his official name is Bucaroo, but we call him Bucky. Yes, after having corgi’s for 20+ years, basset hounds have to be one of the dumbest breeds of dogs.

Hook’em!!!

Have you ever met a Goldie?  I submit my golden Windog, who is more than a few cards short of a full deck. IMG_3097.jpeg.e5c7ae32bcd754a3db6b9517fca492dc.jpeg

Nah man...ALL dogs do this shit. It drives me nuts. I have a bluetick, an American treeing walker coonhound and a great dane (which are supposed to be one of the smartest dog breeds), and they all 3 do this.

Fill up your lawn mower. Push mowers only. No electric mowers.

there is no way this is real

Please park within the hedges, mind the potted plants please.

I submit the basset hound breed as definitely a Top 5 dumbest breeds of the canines. Mine, you just look at him and he’s already saying “I’m sorry,” before I even know what he did.

Biggest problem with a Basset is their complete stubbornness.

That's the stupidity.  It's not stubborness.

Our Pittie used to do this when she was younger, as did our Pom, Pomchi, Chihuahua, and Labrabull, but they finally stopped once old age hit. Shit, when our Pittie would get out she would run literally all over our neighborhood, and now when she finds a way to get out she just eats through our fence and waits for us to let her in at the front door. Her lazy ass just wants to come in now. God forbid she be in the sun for 20 mins while we're getting our house worked on. Fucking Christ.

I'm ascribing far too much introspection to Billy when I say this, but I wonder what it would be like to be on my deathbed, realizing I had spent my entire career acting the douche and fleecing rubes over a very mediocre college football program?

If my deathbed was in a beachfront house on Kauai or a villa on the Cote d’Azur, I’d say it was a good ride.

No, I was living in St. Louis at the time.
Never saw a football game of any kind until the Texas/California matchup in 1959.
I sat in the very last seat of the south end of the press box at Memorial Stadium.
Watched Rene Ramirez (The Galloping Gaucho) and Bobby Lackey wreck the Golden Bears 33-0.
It was an overcast, rainy day and the attendance was supposedly 20,000.

Maybe it's because I'm just not very smart, but I find this program artwork utterly bizarre and confusing.

Instead of carving up a turkey for Thanksgiving, the Longhorns are carving up Texas A&M.

I started going to games about 64, I guess we I was 6.  Two things always made the games good at home.  One was being able to see guys down under the stands when they came out onto the field and then back in after the game.  At that point the dressing rooms were under the west side bleachers and the Horns entered and exited the field around the 50 on that side.   The other thing was those programs.  I still have a few left somewhere, but really wish I had saved more.  I also wish someone would do a collection of them online somewhere.   Again, you are talking about appealing to a 6 year old.

That's back in the day when every little cafe had a Cowpokes calendar at the register, and you could buy Aggie Joke books in convenience stores.   Saturday mornings were sacred because that was the only time you had 3 hours of uninterrupted cartoons and seeing those program covers put Bevo on the same hero level as those heroes in the comic books.  And vice versa for the anti-heroes, like the bears and owls and aggies.  Very roadrunner and coyote in retrospect I guess.

And what does that make A&M in this analogy? The people who pay protection money? I'd much rather be the one who is getting money at the threat of violence than the one paying money to ward off violence.

A woman I work with took her son to visit aggy. Said it was his first choice. I told her at least he doesn't need a safety school. She didn't find that humorous.

Over the weekend went up to Fort Davis to visit the McDonald Observatory.  This is an amazing facility owned by UT that does cutting-edge research in Astronomy.  If you have a chance to visit, I highly suggest doing so.  The night star party is a hell of a lot of fun and I'm not even into astronomy.  Apparently little brother plays some small part in research that is done there and is a partner in consortium that is building some super telescope in the Chilean desert.  This sign on the property graphically depicts aggy's contribution to the project, and is also a good indicator of aggy's importance in the world relative to us.

Loved those oldie programs.  My uncle graduated in 1957, went to all the games and saved the programs for me.  I wished to God I still had them.

The Stark Center has a collection of 100 or so game program covers.
