CDC playing 4D chess. If our AD and HFC come out publicly in favor of the game, they virtually assure that the aggy masses will refuse to let it happen.

i hated this at first but i'm getting used to it.  if the only way to insure we never play them again is to constantly talk about playing them, then i'm all for it.

KBTX had a couple of pieces a while back talking about how businesses in Bryan and College Station miss the money that came into the area when aggy and Texas played in College Station.  They have built a shit ton of hotel rooms that only fill up when Alabama and LSU play there.  The business community in Brazos county certainly wants the series back.

Fuck 'em.  They shit their bed, let them sleep in it.

What's interesting about this is that Texas already has Bama on its schedule in those two seasons.  CDC was obviously slotting aggy as a "mid-level" OOC opponent rather than the "elite OOC program" -- Bama already had that spot.  That's an indicator of how Texas views aggy in terms of a threat on the field.  CDC:  "Yeah, we'll take on both Bama and you in those seasons, no sweat, you pussies."

A&M had room on its schedule in both 2022 and 2023 at the time the offer was made.  But the ags chose to add SHSU in '22 instead, and from what I can tell, they still have an opening in '23.  So there are no excuses -- they're simply scared.

What a bunch of pussies.  I don't care if we never play these chickenshit losers ever again.  There is no upside to doing so, though I think it's funny to fuck with them by making offers that we know they'll never accept.  They ran off rather than continuing to face regular beatings from us, and now they want to claim otherwise.  Typical aggy.  Fuck them.

Perhaps my memory is faulty, but I think we scheduled Alabama instead of A&M, not in addition to.

For me, that's one of the biggest reasons I don't want to renew the rivalry. Playing those idiots year-in, year-out in lieu of interesting nationally relevant programs is boring as fuck.

That could be.  But apparently CDC is now open to playing both in the same two seasons . . . or at least making the offer just to watch them look like pussies when they decline.  Either way, it's interesting.

Other than to highlight their lack of stones, there's no reason to offer to play them, IMO.  Let them continue getting their shit pushed in and hoping to finish #3 in the SEC West.

C3PO has this one correct.

CDC reached out to aTm first, and they told him to pound sand. And he then picked up the phone and 20 minutes later had 'Bama scheduled. He's not open to playing aTm and Bama together in the same seasons. You're absolutely reaching here, and by reaching, I mean you're basically constructing a fantasyland based upon incorrect "facts" you spun out of thin air. Both on the schedule in the same seasons was never in the cards, and it won't be in the future either barring something gigantic changing.

Settle down, Beavis.  I was simply going by published media reports and tweets, though I will admit that I made at least one assumption, i.e., that the offer to the ags had been relatively recent.  It appears you have additional info to the effect that the decision to schedule Bama was made after A&M had already declined like the bitches they are, and that CDC would never play both Bama and aggy  in one season.  If that's the case (and I really don't have a reason to doubt you at this point), then I stand corrected.  But there was no conscious effort to "spin facts" on my part.

And either way, the larger point remains, i.e., there is no reason to play those pussies again.

I didn't think you were trying to spin any facts. I was just setting you straight, my man. CDC is on the record in his comments as to the timeline of what happened in regards to aTm and Alabama scheduling. How do you think 3PO knew who to process that information?

I’m liking this thing where the AD and HFC are publicly in favor of the game. Takes the teeth out of the ‘they’s skeered to play us’ bloviation that their fans vomit out.

Its actually not tough to schedule it, just go out when neither school has anything on the books and start it then. But I suspect that if the aggy administration ever stops pissing down it’s leg at the thought and tries to set it up, mysterious complications would arise to prevent it. Probably something like the 8 vs 9 game conference schedule prevents us from adding a nonconference annual game, as we look for variety in those 3 games from a fan interest perspective.

Because he’s fluent in over 6 million forms of communication.

Kidding aside, scheduling the Incarnate Word, UTSA, and SHSU vs. Texas could mean the difference in a bowl game or not.

It's all good.  Appreciate the correct info.

Well, what we know of the entire history of that piece of shit institution is that they would only ever agree to play us if they were absolutely positive they would win. Kind of like the way they made sure to leave the conference in a year the game was at Shit Pyle Field and our wheels were already coming off. Didn't work out for them, but not for lack of effort.

This is part and parcel of why A&M not being in the same conference as Texas is literally the greatest thing to ever happen to the Aggies.

If we say "we would like to play A&M again", then it's "OH Y'ALL NEED US SO BAD, WE AIN'T NEED T.U., WE'S SEC!"

If we say "we don't want to play A&M again", then it's "OH Y'ALL SCAREDA MIGHTY TEXUM A&M AGGIES, HAHAHAHA"

They never have to prove it on the field, they never have to submit to oranges-to-oranges comparisons ("8-5 in the SEC is better than 10-4 in the BDF!!!!!"). They can preserve their little fantasy bubble indefinitely, as long as their athletic director protects them by avoiding us at all costs.

Meanwhile over here we're like, "not particularly interested but what's the goddamned difference? play, don't play, it don't make a shit" because it doesn't. One game against A&M's not going to change anything. Losing 10 times in 11 years wouldn't change anything. They're perpetually going to be Danny DeVito to our Schwazenegger. It won't change because their Little Man syndrome is built into the culture.

Aaaaand ducked us twice in bowl games. "Dur, we'll play the sips but only in the playoff!" Yeah fucking right. You have to actually win your conference. In your best year since WW2, you still came in 3rd place. Everyone knows you, aggy. Fraudulent and pussified.

"If our general fanbase misses the game, then there will be many aggy obsessed threads. There are many aggy obsessed threads, therefore our general fanbase misses the game."

A very, very nice example of affirming the consequent, the most basic error there is when it comes to formal logic.

If 'A' is true, then 'B'. 'B' is true, therefore 'A'.

Nope. Doesn't follow.

My motivation for being on this thread is to provide sufficient documentary evidence for others join my efforts to have the legal status of aggy as a branch of The University terminated. I hardly believe that qualifies me as someone who misses the game. Quite the contrary. I want nothing to do with them whatsoever. I think they should be left to their own stupidity, and to wither and die as an institution.

The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.

I won't be popular for this opinion but oh well. If it were announced that Texas opened the season vs aggy next year it would sell out instantly and probably break the DKR attendance record.

It wouldn’t break the attendance record by far. And most games sell out. We don’t need help.
