Just so I have this straight:

-aggy leaves, no one cares.

-We leave, and there’s a god damn conga line of Senators begging us to stay.

If that doesn’t paint a clear enough picture of how both schools are viewed, I don’t know what will.  Go get your fucking shine box aggy.

Yes because we were still there, hence the meal ticket continues for Tech and Baylor. TCU was thrown a lifeline by Deloss in 2012.

So the way I understand things is this:

everything bad that happens in or to the big 12 is Texas’ fault.

but also Texas can’t leave because everything good in the big 12 is because of Texas.

and Texas has no say in any of this and is duty bound to keep taking shit from all of these schools while bringing in most of the value that generates the revenue in which they share.

and they have to ask why Texas might not like this arrangement and seek to leave for a more equitable circumstance?

Yep and you have the exact reason why Hartzell and the administration are happy to be done with the rest of the programs in this state.

Stupid sip. It just shows they have so much power and actually run the state that the politicians knew to just step aside.

TCU and Baylor backed the wrong horse. Instead of chasing research dollars, they chased football championships.

There’s a reason why Rice doesn’t give a shit about football. They make significantly more money on research grants. And oh yeah, they improve society while doing this.

What the fuck is baylor going to research? How not to get caught for murder and/or rape?

And they were a backup plan when it came to the expansion candidates, a last minute Plan B or C at that.

Whitmire is the only one who seems to have a brain or any critical thinking capabilities.  +1 University of Houston.  I think....

Don't be fooled. If UH was losing out in this instead of enjoying schadenfreude he'd be a hypocritical selfish cunt right alongside the rest of them.

Texas politicians aren't anti-socialism. They're pro-selfishness. Whatever benefits me is great. Whatever doesn't benefit me is terrible. This farce just shows it in high definition detail

This move should've happened back in '94, but the pro-selfishness TxGov/TxLege politicians then blocked it.

All this did was get a lot of dumb takes on the record that will get used in the UT vs Big 12 lawsuit about walking away for the GOR…

Use these comments in the draft of the lawsuit and send it to Bowsly as a negotiating tool to cap damage.

Then add in the idea that Texa she’s sovereign immunity and so the potential worst case for them is now 0 payout and let the games begin.

In many ways this is as absolutely stupid that the representatives of these school would be willing to speak in this type of venue and say the things they did…

So we're saying politicians aren't necessarily intelligent nor critical thinkers?

Yes, and they were way too myopic a decade ago to realize that letting aggy walk without a fight just set up precedent for the big dog to do the same down the road. I'm just surprised it took 10 years. I guess they tried earlier but the pac12 fell through. Good thing though because with the changes to things like NIL since then this is a far far better move for Texas athletics.
