Jesus Christ, Derka. You know, you can be absolutely right about Quinn Ewers sucking dick and still be an irritating titty-baby of a person on this thread, right? They're not mutually exclusive. You're not a "victim" because you voluntarily post on a message board, and not just any message board, the Football board, where stupid posters and shitty takes are literally the oxygen everyone must breathe here, and have people disagree with your takes. Just post the fucking screenshots and say "Now who wants to fuck with Hollywood Court?"

A thread of BO&W and Derka circle jerking each other about how bad Quinn Ewers sucks dick might be the worst concept of a thread this board as ever imagined, and this is a board that had a pederast and serial felon posting about parking and towing in Austin for over a year. Holy fucking shit.

you have got that right, i am absolutely no victim, so i have no idea where you’re even getting that from. i’m taking you all’s shitty takes and personal shit talk and i’m flinging it back at you. is that what a victim does? takes shit and then gives it right back?

no. a victim whines, and cries, and makes mountains out of molehills, and lashes out at people for the most benign shit ever. hmm. who here is acting like a victim?

You want it to be one way. But it's the other way.

You think you're returning fire and standing tall, but every post you're making comes across as literally whining, crying, and lashing out at people.

And don't reference "you" in regards to me. I think Ewers blows, and I almost never visit the football board and any of it's threads save August, every year, so I'm not some twat giving you shit about Ewers because by and large I agree with your take on Ewers. So don't lump me in with that shit just because I'm also on this thread and see you and BO&W ruining what little value it already had for the rest of us.

They could put him on the practice squad. I don’t think he’d get poached onto another 53 man roster.

I think pretty much all teams have a 3rd emergency QB that dresses for the games but doesn't count against the dress numbers.  I have no idea if that is a practice squad guy, or part of the active 53.

I think they are typically the practice squad guy and they DON'T count against the 53.

One day the guys who longcat argue with derka will realize they are part of the problem to, right?

I for one found his screen shots amusing. The sheer volume of dudes that vehemently disagreed with him - and were clearly wrong - is next level.

I found some humor there.

It still is open for Ewers.  The accuracy wasn’t good, but the bigger part may be the coaches view of his decision-making.

The 3rd QB counts against the 53 man roster but not the 48 man active roster

The thing that was always most maddening to me about Quinn is that he was basically the same QB at the end of 2025 that he was at the beginning of 2023. Surprisingly little improvement other than losing the mullet. In his first year he looked great at times (Alabama before injury, OU) and looked like dogshit at times. Fast forward to his third year and its the same thing. Look at the stats of some of the other QBs drafted (Ward, Dart, Sanders) and note that their stats show improvement year after year. Quinn actually regressed statistically last year. I don't know if that's an indictment on QE, Sark/staff, or both. If we see steady improvement out of Arch, I'll guess we know.

He had some absolute dogshit throws against ou the last two years

If you're going to have two shitty backup QBs, might as well go with the cheaper one.

I would guess they are looking for a veteran cast off at this point.  That don't want either of them as QB2.  They would probably cut Wilson and keep Ewers as a cheap development guy.

that's the consensus on the Dolphins' subreddit. Wilson is a known quantity and isn't going to get better (and his cap hit if cut is nothing).

Ewers was viewed as an injury-prone development prospect and drafted as such.

A "shit takes" thread would be pretty entertaining after the season. Every year there are one or two guys that get shit on before the season and then play really well - Christian Jones and Vernon Broughton come to mind.

Went to the Dolphins subreddit to read up what they think. They are being surprisingly even handed about Ewers. Talking how he showed some talent, that the OL and WR didn't do him any favors, that it's his first NFL game. I'm not sure what to make of that, because Ewers was also playing against back ups. I guess everyone is willing to be more patient with a 7th round QB.

But man, do they fucking hate Zach Wilson.

Of course they hate him. He's a former Jets player. 😁

Also, he really sucks.

I didn't really give a shit about Ewers as a pro, I was just glad he moved on.  After the last couple pages, I really want to see him become the next Tom Brady just to see what it does to Derka's brain, lol.

That would require him to somehow not be a giant pussy when it comes to a pass rush.

Oh, I fully realize its ridiculously unlikely.  Ewers is just not a good QB.  There's something in his head that is incongruent with competitive, full contact football.  Ewers was drafted exactly where he should have been -- late, with a throw away pick, on the off chance he can exorcise whatever that thing in his head is.

BUT with regards to Derka... I've never seen someone so invested in the failure of a 22 year old.  I mean, ok, you called it.  So did a shit ton of others in this thread, but they aren't spiking the football over it and talking about the "abuse" they endured for it.

Derka, you were right about Quinn, at least up until present day. Hopefully that public validation helps you, although I know I am not the one (or the magnitude) you’re seeking validation from.

Now, kindly STFU and stop rooting for him to fail at the expense of “being right.” I’ve consistently expressed very similar sentiments as it relates to Quinn's upside, especially in the Florida game thread last year (BO&W did as well), but I don’t need to pull receipts to demand validation. In fact, my sincere hope is Quinn proves me incorrect.

Also, it’s apparent you have much more disdain for Quinn based on your recent comments outside of his performance as QB at UT. I won’t CR this thread up, but we all know Quinn’s current political preference and privileged background.

Nevertheless, you were correct regarding his limitations and ultimate draft position. However, it’s not like you were the only one.

you guys really should learn to a)talk less shit, and b)know what you’re stoking about. so, who’s gonna be man enough to admit that they were wrong about quinn, and wrong to talk all that crazy shit about my absolutely correct takes on him? who’s first up?

I’m with Derka on this. Dude knows ball, and he’s been on this one from the beginning.

I am hoping Quinn Ewers makes it as a career 3rd option/scout team QB for a few years and I think he might, but he’s certainly not a starter and I don’t think he’s a backup either, because based on his entire body of work I don’t see any reason to believe he can start multiple games in a season for an NFL team.

If anything, Derka understated the NFL talent Ewers played with.  He couldn’t have known about Golden, Cam Williams, Helm, Sanders, and Blue.  Not to mention late round guys like  Majors and Connor.  We were absolutely stacked.  Far cry from 2009 where Colt played with what, a fourth round WR (who was a college badass)?

By drafted talent, Ewers had a much better supporting cast than Vince.

Bijan, Brooks, Roschon, Blue, Golden, Mitchell, Worthy, Whittington, Sanders, Helm, Banks, Williams, Christian Jones, Majors, Connor, DJ Campbell versus Cedric, Jamaal, Sweed, Pittman, Scaife, Thomas, Blalock, Studdard, Sendlein, Scott, Allen.

That is not it with Quinn.  We have had plenty of players that have the same politics.  Including legends like Colt and Shipley that everyone loves.

Quinn was a very highly rated QB who too many times was one of the worst starting players on offense.  That's the issue with him.

This thread has taken an odd twist.  But it’s entertaining.  I almost hope it lives forever.

And I think Quinn represents what many fans and even experts struggle with when it comes to sports.  It may also be Sarks limiting factor to get over the hump.  I believe Sark was still on the mantra of “he can make all the throws” when the draft happened.  That ASU throw on 4th and 13 was a great counter to that.  The throw itself was far from great but the result was great.  Any college QB can make that throw in practice.  It was the presnap work that made the play. And it was catchable, which is all that was needed in that moment.

We are at a point in which we need to make best use of our resources.  We don’t need all the throws.  Just get those resources opportunities.  The consistency of that effort makes it work.

mentioned this is the fall camp, but fits here. On the netflix SEC show Elko says that Texas throws more passes 5 yards or less than anyone in the country. That speaks a lot louder than Sark's words.

That game never should have gotten to that point. It should have been well in hand by then. Watching the offense last year was bad for my heart.

Ok, now that the victory laps are over, what should still be a discussion is not whether or not Quinn sucks (he does) or if he will last any length of time in the NFL (it's highly likely he won't).  It should be, "When NFL talent evaluators could so clearly see Quinn's shortcomings, why couldn't or wouldn't Sark?"

It's pretty obvious now that we should have prepared Arch more and at least used him when Quinn was struggling if not named him the starter after the first GA game.  Would we have finished better?  I dunno, our offensive line was exposed against teams with dominant D lines.  But I don't think there is any debate that Arch is better equipped to perform with an offensive line that isn't providing great protection.

I dunno what blinders Sark had on, but I am glad the temptation to rely on Ewers has been removed from him.

I saw that.  The board harped on the checkdowns/short passing game quite a bit during the season.  It’s also a counter to “make all the throws” because at some point the defense will gameplan and react to what you’re doing rather than what you theoretically can do.

With respect to Quinn and checking down, it is possible he was doing as instructed even if he was a bit quick in doing so.  It may be a reach but with the expanded schedule Sark was conscious of not extending his defense too much.  So did that make him more conservative in looking to extend drives over quick strikes?

Most people knew Sanders was a stud

Remember when Quinn was missing worthy by four yards and we thought it was worthy’s fault?  Something has always been off. Yes, he had made some great throws but every qb has

Given the health issues in the  Miami QB room, I think Quinn was a reasonable late round draft gamble for them. To use a poker analogy, holding 7s and 8s pre-flop and calling a pot odds bet is a solid poker. It has a lot of ways to lose but it's a gamble worth taking particularly if you are already short stacked in a tournament game.

You're suprised that people are still talking about one of the 3 highest rated QBs ever to come to Texas and who also took us to 2 CFPs. Breaking news, we still talk about VY.
