What did Rex do to get himself banned? All the Porterhouse posts are now under Guest in the “O&G we’re all just guessing” thread in 6th street. Do they have spitcups in Purgatory or have they gone carbon neutral?

I think it's in the last few pages of the CR is a terrible place thread where he got pissed off by getting repeatedly negged by Penelope, so he quit the site and requested all his posts be deleted.

It's not even hard to look up.  The top 11.9% of American households have income of $200K or higher.  2022 data:

Mid to upper middle class. People need to divorce themselves from the idea that middle income equals middle class. You are confusing two very different distributions. The American middle class has been defined by a few different aspects of lifestyle: 1) Attainable home ownership; 2) Security in the basic necessities of life; 3) Educational opportunity; 4) Leisure time; 5) Retirement security. There are some other aspects for sure, but I think those are pretty core. The reality is that middle income is not able to support those aspects in the US. It use to be, and not too long ago. But the disconnect between the income distributions and "class" segmentation is apparent at this point and only growing. But we can fix this. We just need more aircraft carrier groups on deployment.

Yeah it comes down to what you define as middle class. I think the disconnect is that what the ideal of American middle class looks like in people’s minds - certainly for the older posters who are usually making those statements - is really the realm of the top third or quartile at this point.

$200k HH income is what it takes to afford a “middle class” lifestyle with a couple kids including homeownership, kids’ activities, solid retirement/educational savings, a few vacations a year, etc. in some areas. That’s a high estimate for Texas - if you have financial problems at that income level here then that’s on you - but also $200k HHI isn’t “I don’t think about money at all” type wealthy in Texas like it used to be.

Cool cool. Yes, give Michigan to Trump. That will help Muslims everywhere.

Pretty short sighted for Muslims concerned about Palestinians to vote for Trump over Biden.  Do they not remember that Trump formally recognized Jerusalem was Israel's capital and moved the US Embassy there from Tel Aviv?

Well since most of you are followers and not leaders, I find myself inside Wasted Grain in Scottsdale, with tits and ass everywhere making this fucking post. Like the desert eventually gets relief with a monsoon, I too am flooding your mom’s pants with a 4.9% Grown Dirty Penis. Cause I’m a show-er and not a grower, and just like government created stimulants, it’s a minority giving it to her (I’m ginger).

Jobs are fake, you’re a pussy, and your dad watches gay porn.

Peace bitch

Oh here we go. Time to concern troll poorly executed polling. Biden +1 with young voters. Laughable. Methodology is terrible

Exactly, not only do these polls make zero sense and don’t pass a smell test, if polling and the evolution of the “polling business” has shown us anything in the last few years, it’s that they are increasingly bad data and metrics from which to make any strategy or decisions based off of.

Anyone can and does game them to tell a story (if you have ever been around BI in a large company it’s the same thing that’s been going on for years) and the everyday man just hasn’t caught up to realize polling isn’t as legitimate and reliable as it used to be, so they think it’s real and concerning.

This is why the poll is stupid and we shouldn't care: "Nearly 70% of nonwhite voters under 45 said they voted for Biden in 2020. Now, only 49% support him."

Okay even if that were true, the delta (70-49) of 21% aren't supporting Trump. No way nonwhites are voting Trump, or anyone else, over Biden.

It's fantasyland questioning. It would be like asking someone who has a decent job, some hybrid work from home, and good pay if they would support getting a new hypothetical job that was 25% raise, fully work from home and a company car. It's not a real option, but sure, I'd support something better than what I have now that is decent. Doesn't mean I'm going to take the crappy Wal-mart job that is a pay cut and have to go work the warehouse for 12 hours a day, though.

Exactly. Biden's position on Israel is not popular right now among young progressives. And it's obviously not popular with Muslims (which there are many of in Michigan). But these groups are not going to pull the lever for Trump next November.

I don't think that's going to move the needle much come next year.  I think it boils down to what I'm pretty sure I posted months ago on this thread.  Biden's age and the economy.  Yes, I get the Trump is also old.  And yes, I get that unemployment is still really low and rate of inflation has been reduced.  I don't think it matters.  Because to the average America, Biden "Seems" significantly older than Trump (the whole "Biden has dementia, doesn't know where he is" narratives have been effective) and your average America doesn't pay attention to data, they just know everything is really fucking expensive and even if employed their purchasing power is way down.

Let me be clear I don't blame Biden for inflation.  It was inevitable post Covid.  But he's the President so he gets the blame from Joe Public.  That's how it's always been.

Obviously Biden hasn't really started campaigning and can combat these narratives (and an active campaign will highlight that Trump is old AF as well) but these are legitimate concerns that, apparently, to date, the Dem establishment has taken lightly.

The Dems should have been grooming someone as a potential alternative in 24 (or obvious successor) and they haven't done that.   I think a younger likeable moderate candidate would wipe the floor with Trump.  I also think a younger likeable moderate candidate that the GOP would actually support (which will never be the case in the current "MAGA" environment) could wipe the floor with Biden.  But instead, we're going to watch 2 incredibly old candidates battle it out in the most consequential election we've had.

it's truly stunning.  I believe the stat is 70% of the population doesn't want a Biden/Trump rematch.  Yet we are headed right to it.

I completely agree. But it would explain these odd poll numbers in the current moment.

Counterpoint: They might not pull the lever for Trump, but they might stay home. Which is just as good in this scenario.

Biden's approval ratings have been shit for a while now.  I don't think the vocal minority of misguided progressives move the needle on this or anything else they bitch about.
