I wonder whether "patellar tendinitis" is LSU-speak for "strained patellar tendon." (Partial tear of that sweetheart would be a much bigger deal than the "1.5" touch of soreness they are claiming.) If there is nothing to see here, why all the shenanigans?

I've listened to them for a while. They're not bad in many respects, but they have clear disdain for Texas and will generally avoid talking about the program if they can.

Really?  I haven’t picked up on that at all.

The Solid Verbal podcast goes over the SEC.

They'll have two more shows where they do deep dives on each team. They also have a deep dive on Ohio State they put up a couple of days ago. To me they sound like writers who are passionate about college football covering the game...which is what they are. Ty Hildenbrandt is a Penn State grad and Notre Dame fan. Dan Rubenstein is a grad of Oregon. The podcast started in 2008, so many of you are likely already familiar with it. I only recently started listening to it.

They are literate. Listening to them feels like listening to fantasy football people analyze teams/players. It's not my favorite. I find myself getting bored by them at times. But I find myself jonesing for college football content right now. They try to do a good job in covering all of college football. They obviously watch a bunch of games. I feel like they refrain from click bait/hot take shenanigans the way so much of the rest of the internet gravitates towards, so that's my biggest endorsement.

Hildenbrandt's take on the Aggies is unintentionally hilarious in this show, but again, so much of what they do is a paper analysis. They don't shy away from that admission. I can't say I learn a whole lot from them, but I don't feel like my intelligence is insulted, either, which is what happens with most college football content. Anyway, here's the link:

26:00 mark, wait for it.... "everything you say makes sense!!! ...... my counter point?  They're Texas A&M!! They go 8-4!

28:10 mark "If they were named East Texas State I could see 10-2."

Texas A&M gets pile driven by the national media and various fan bases so much. It's crazy how well known they are for going 8-4.

Quoting this for Nostradamus level predictability.  This one is "get the popcorn" worthy...

Lot's of SEC players on list, but none from Texas...

College football, as a product, has arguably never been better. We get more games with national championship implications. We get more upsets. The players have never been bigger, never been faster, and never been more spread out. While it’s something more for the men who live it on Saturdays in the fall, the entertainment factor is through the roof.

That’s especially true with these 12 players you’ll read about below. Call it the All-Aura team — the most exciting, most intimidating, most entertaining players in college football. The offense is up first. The defense will be revealed at a later date.

  • Quarterback: Taylen Green, Arkansas
  • Running back: Jeremiyah Love, Notre Dame
  • Running back: Jonah Coleman, Washington
  • Wide receiver: Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State
  • Wide receiver: Ryan Williams, Alabama
  • Wide receiver: Cam Coleman, Auburn
  • Tight end: Eli Stowers, Vanderbilt
  • Offensive lineman: Kadyn Proctor, Alabama
  • Offensive lineman: Jaeden Roberts, Alabama
  • Offensive lineman: Shadre Hurst, Tulane
  • Offensive lineman: Paolo Gennarelli, Army
  • Offensive lineman: Olaivavega Ioane, Penn State

Apparently Jackson Arnold isn't looking any better at Auburn than he did at OU and Hugh Freeze has stayed on a paranoid, panicked coke bender since practices started. Deuce Knight looks good and they might be compelled to start him on 8/29 on the road at Baylor as a true freshman. If that is all true, I guess I hope for Arnold's sake that he's already been paid in full. If there's a program out there that is the likeliest to start ripping their players off on the NIL promises, besides USC who has already been doing it, it would be Auburn.

Well I guess the question really is what is the typical NIL promise? Is it to pay even if it turns out you aren’t good enough to play? Is there any kind of actual contract?

Actual honest questions.

If Freeze is wasn’t their HC, Auburn might be worthy of my pity. The question is, did they pay Arnold to be the starter or to push/be a bridge to Deuce? If it’s the former, they’re probably screwed before the season even starts.

Cam Coleman seems to really like it there + YellaWood would probably pay enough to keep him around for the next guy.

I’d be all over Keldric Faulk, but I’m not sure who else I’d want off that roster.

This man's middle name is "shenanigans."

The other guy most definitely did it better than Brian Kelly | SEC Rant

Auburn worth of pity? They’ve won a national title more recently than us, have been one of the dirtier players of the bag game for awhile, and they’re the aggie of their state. They can get fucked and stay fucked. Pity. Geeze.

No shit. They're one of the most insane institutions involved with college sports anywhere in the world. They didn't like a head coach and couldn't afford his buyout, so they decided to publicly accuse the guy of having an affair with a younger woman that worked in his offices.

This was done at administrative levels. Not some lunatic booster, although they have those and those people helped. No, this was done with the involvement of Harsin's boss. Turns, out, after an independent investigation, there was nothing resembling an affair. All they did was ruin a woman's reputation and smear a married man as well. Why? Because he wasn't winning enough and the contract they gave him was too expensive in a buyout. That is one place that can stay the dumpster fire that it is for the rest of any of our lives. I smile happily every time I see new failures from that place except when it is at the hands of OU or ATM.

Hester and EJ were previewing their #15 team yesterday on Off Campus on XM84. That team? Florida, same as the AP but they construct their list ahead of time and independently. #15 just happened to match. Anyway, it's a fun build-up to the season each day when they unveil the next team and then have an insider on to discuss them.

Their UF insider was, of course, Chris Doering. He came on talking up the juggernaut that he expects Florida to be this season. Fine. Late in the conversation, they ask him, in the early stretch of @LSU, @Miami, bye, Texas, @Texas A&M, which game is circled for him that UF has to win. In the least surprising thing I read or saw yesterday, Doering picked Florida to beat Texas and then went on to say that Texas is susceptible to more losses than people realize.

He said the same shit last year and never outright owned it. He and the other idiots are going to predict Texas failing until Texas one day does it, and then they can honk with one another about how they saw it coming the whole way.

Definitely feels like we're sticking with 8 conference games for 2026. Kentucky just scheduled a 4th OOC game for 2026. Yeah, SEC pussies, everyone would rather see Kentucky play Youngstown State, Kent State, and South Alabama instead of 1 of those being subbed for another SEC matchup. How can ESPN sit by and be okay with it? All of those are SECN+ games.

ESPN is going to have to be willing to pay for it.  What this tells me is that right now, ESPN isn't willing to pay, or more to the point, isn't willing to pay enough, to make it seem worthwhile to the SEC.

Also no incentive to go to 9 until the new CFP format is decided. 3/4 of their non-conf is easily a pay them to disappear game

ESPN has indicated that they ARE willing to pay for it. The problem is the SEC pussies are waiting for some guarantee on slots in an expanded playoff.

Eh, they clearly aren't willing to pay ENOUGH or it would already be done.

The playoff slots vs. 9 game conference schedule is a chicken and egg thing.  But enough money from ESPN would end that problem.

If I were the SEC, I'd be asking for ESPN to make the SEC contract match the sum total of all of the B1G's contracts on a per school basis, and I'd also require escalators to keep the SEC even or ahead of the B1G.
