Are we finally over the Yuli break-up?  No way he comes through like Abreu has this post-season.

He would have cost nearly nothing, and he would be taking Singleton's spot on the roster. It also may have resulted in a win or two more while Abreu was out. He's still a good first baseman, and a decent hitter, a great insurance policy to have over a guy who hits less than Maldy.

I’m scared. Wasn’t the last 2 games. Very scared now.

I get it. The longer an unlikely pattern goes, the more surprised you are to see if continue. And dominating the way we have in Arlington is for sure an unlikely pattern.

That said...every game is a new beginning. Montgomery did a number on us last time, but he's not Carlton or Koufax. No reason we can't hit him and win again

On October 20 in 1882 Bela Lugosi was born in Hungary. The Astros are what, right now? They are hungry. October is spooky, Bela Lugosi played Dracula. The Astros are scary good and they want blood.

2023-1882=141

141 is a sign of good fortune when it comes to family life. This Astros team is a family.

Go Stros!

What kind of limp wristed lineup is Dusty going to post today? He always gimps it out for Verlander.

I’m sure it will be the exact same as yesterday.

that’s the easiest. It scored 10 runs. They have a lefty (so no Brantley) and you know dubon and Maldy will be starting

…all of which means, we probably see the return of JVs personal 1st baseman

Any manager who changes the lineup the day after scoring 10 runs in a playoff game should never be allowed in a dugout again.

Over half the board is cheering dubon in the 2 hole.  There won't be anything dumber than that.  Well except death, taxes, and maldy.

October 20th in Astros History

2022 - Framber Valdez and the Houston bullpen lock down the Yankees, 3-2, in Game 2 of the ALCS for a 2-0 series lead. Alex Bregman's 3-run homer provides all of the Astros' offense.
2021 - Framber Valdez spins eight innings of three-hit ball, leading the Astros to a 9-1 thumping of the Red Sox at Fenway in the critical Game 5 of the ALCS Yordan Alvarez smacks a homer and a double. Yuli Gurriel drives in three.
2017 - Justin Verlander hurls seven innings of shutout ball as Houston ties the ALCS at 3-games each with a 7-1 victory over the Yankees. Jose Altuve homers (of course) and drives in 3 to lead the offense.
2004 - Jeff Bagwell ties the Cardinals, 4-4, with a clutch 2-out single in the 9th of Game 6 of the NLCS.
1999 - Ken Caminiti falls out of a deer stand while hunting near Laredo. He fractured 3 vertebrae.

Montgomery is due a bad game. I’m having nightmare flashback to the nationals series though. I love hate baseball.

The other team is good.

That's why it so fucking satisfying to beat them.

No he is due to no hit this lineup.... We are fucked with Valdez letting them clinch in G6

2018 Boston celebrates in Houston
2019 Washington celebrates in Houston
2021 Atlanta celebrates in Houston

We tend to like throwing parties for the other teams..... This one will be the worst

Regardless of what happens today, JP France needs to be ready to go at a moments notice on Sunday.  I don't want headcase Framber blowing this for us.  For instance, in his last start, he would have been pulled after throwing the ball away on that ground ball.  So, basically, JP would warm up alongside Framber instilling all the confidence in him no doubt.

Posting here since I know it’s getting more eyeballs than the Vegas thread. Especially @henrygandorf - I’m landing in Vegas shortly and need a place to watch the Stros. I’m thinking Circa Sportsbook but open to recommendations. We are at the Palazzo (hopefully not in THAT suite, if you know you know) - traffic is so terrible that going off strip to Circa is just as fast as going to Beer Park or to other spots on the Strip.

Mainly looking for the place where I won’t fuck up a W.

circa is sick, but the best watching areas are out by the pool, so if you're not looking to be by the pool, i would just watch at the venetian/palazzo sportsbook.  i haven't been over there in a minute, so i'm not sure what other good bars are there with tvs, but most hotels have added them (after decades with zero tvs outside of books).

if you're looking to make any other trouble there, text me later.
