Thats why it was dumb to go for it. You have to onside kick and get the ball back to have a chance anyway. Take the points and guarantee a chance to actually do the onside kick.

I don't know. You're odds of scoring on 4th and goal from the 1 have to be better than a td scoring drive.

Our best hope is if FSU wins, they do it un ugly fashion. Showing the committee this team is nothing more than a free bye for the real contenders out there. To give the committee something to think about at least.

It depends what their true end result is. Do they want the 4 best teams or do they just want to take the 4 best records? Because those aren't always the same. Texas would run FSU off the field in current form.

How many first downs does Bama need to clinch this?

Really depends on how many plays. Getting a 1st down on the very first play won't matter as much. I think 2 will do it. But getting 1 if it takes 3 run plays can maybe do it. Georgia would love to have 3 timeouts here instead of having to burn one.

Incredibly stupid decision even if they get the td

Normally yes. But Heorgia o ot has 2 timeouts left, and they would get the ball with around a minute or so. That’s would be hard to get a TD. The call might have made sense given that.

If you don’t score a TD there the game is over. You lose. Making a FG there means you ensure another chance for the onside

who gives a shit if you lose fast or slow?  The decision is which option gives you the best chance to win.

His point was correct. The odds of making a TD from the 1 was higher than the odds of stopping Bama and driving the whole field for a TD.
