Friend's wife huh?

I'm calling bullshit.

No way that hag has any friends.

And this ‘friend’ must be the only person in the entire country that doesn’t have a camera on them since there are no pictures.

The funny thing about the predictit markets is that the "Harris or Trump" market is back to about a coin flip, but the "Harris will be the next president" market is unchanged (Harris +12).

These are exactly the values supported by Nixon and Ford.  And the Republican Party under Nixon and Ford was a "conservative" party.

You're right that Reagan (I'm not sure that I will concede Bush) started the change in direction from "conservative" to "reactionary."  But for the most part, it was reactionary in rhetoric only.  The Republicans of the 80s and 90s had the good political sense not to actually do anything to ban abortion, no matter how much they might talk of doing so.  And they had the good political sense to manage immigration and create paths to citizenship (though Pete Wilson thought racial scapegoating of Hispanics was the way to go, resulting in the destruction of the Republican Party in California).

As you go from Nixon to Trump, there is clearly a reactionary creep to the Republican Party.  But I'd argue that that is really only clear in retrospect.  It was just a Dole or McCain win away from remaining firmly tied to conservativism.

I mean, maybe.

I mean, OK. I never felt compelled to defend George Allen, but whatever it was that made you think any of that was real, I’m glad you know it was mostly bullshit now.

It wasn't difficult to see at all.  GHWB wasn't that bad, but once Newt took over Congress it was blatantly obvious.

Yikes

Wait that doesn’t surprise me. Cruz is so fucking unlikeable and he usually runs behind the top of the ticket

2012 - Cruz 56-41, Romney 57-41

2018 - Cruz 51-48, Abbott 56-43

would not be surprised to see Cruz up 4-5 and Trump up 6-7

Wow, damn!  Look what Camilla did.  I want my $28,000 back so I'm voting for TRUMP!

Somehow, I think the irony of Trump talking about price increases while sitting in his, er, I mean, Epstein's private jet will be lost on his voters.

Just one poll so far of ME-02, but UNH did a poll of Maine -

Harris leads by 17 statewide (Biden won it by 9) and she's up 49-44 in ME-02, which Trump won by 7.44

Again, just one poll but the last time a Dem won Maine by double digits was 2012 (Obama +15) - it was Clinton +3 and Biden +9

This election should be a blowout but instead we are all held hostage by the EC.

The Compact would also likely require Congress to pass a law.

B) "journey through the complexities of survival"?  Yeah, he doesn't know those words.

Man, if only I was voting for the President of Israel in this election.

And yeah, trying to sabotage a peace plan that could stop terrorists from killing more Israelis is really helping Israel.

So, he's trying to win Jewish voters by attacking a popular Jewish governor, for not doing as much as his goy ass has for Israel.  And sounding completely insane while doing so.  Cool.

I would be shocked if thin majorities in WI/MI/PA/AZ passed it to be honest. They are the kingmakers right now.

Ok, but can you how many commercials they see? How many texts?  People knocking on doors?

Congress needs to pass a law that adjusts the number of representatives with every census. It would increase the size of the House and give the bigger states more representatives in the chamber, thus helping to ensure the Dems hold it. SCOTUS can't do a damn thing. There is nothing in the Constitution that limits the size of the House. The House already expanded every census until 1930. The original proposed first amendment actually adjusted the size of the House with every census. Nine states ratified it, IIRC, but 10 were needed to beat the 3/4 threshold. It would also increase the number of electoral votes from larger states and help ensure that the winner of the popular vote would win the electoral college.

Hmm, wherever did you get this idea Kenneth?

Paxton would have quickly known this was bullshit, which means  this could be red meat for MAGA, but then it would be lost in the shuffle as they fixate on the DNC and Trump’s responses.

Or Paxton and the Rs are worried about November for some reason, and he’s laying the groundwork for fuckery later on.

Does Kamala have any policies out yet?

Lol. Man, always the same talking points with these guys. I see them on Twitter, FB, Youtube, and now even here. Does Kamala have any policies out yet? She is scared to do interviews. DEI hire. Kamala is not blek. She sucked her way to the top.

What's weird about the whole thing is that MAGA is comprised of a bunch of dude incapable of individual thought. They spend all day everyday passing along memes, never fact-checking anything, and regurgitating easily refutable talking points.

Even better than I expected?

Seems within reach but not likely in 2024.....2028 will be interesting for both Texas and Florida. I still think Texas is 4 years behind Florida no matter if it is 2024 or 2028 Florida flip.
