He's going to realize the electrified fence is turned off here pretty soon. I haven't figured out if he'll do the coronation in his new Gold House, or down at Mar-a-Lago.

I understand.  I have felt that way politically for some time now.  This is the end game manifestation of a lot of shit.  But as Biff noted football season is about to start so even those who disagree won't be very motivated to do anything about it.  Next few years are going to be pretty wild.  I've been reading some dystopian science fiction lately but I'm realizing no good science fiction at this point could be anything but dystopian.  See you in the factory or the mines soon.

Guard has the authority to detain, not arrest. Well they did.

Hand over all those trouble makers straight to the FBI. Deport them to S. Dakota.

Law vs. Reality.

We know where this is going.

Yep. Black Marias are coming. There are quite a few federal facilities around DC. Perfect for camps. Like Arlington. Central courtyard at the Pentagon. Hell, we will lock them all up in the old USAID building. 3 per cube.

It’s going to be interesting when, as promised, all those obnoxious small government constitutional purists exercise their Second Amendment rights to fight tyranny.

Correction… *hand to ear, listening intently* I’m being told the small government zealots will instead be joining a boat parade in enthusiastic support of tyranny.

Still images can always look off but why does Patel's posture look so awkward. Is he simultaneously trying to puff out his chest while flexing his arms? I just stood up to attempt that pose and it felt strange.

Ummm, guys. Guys. GUYS!

I love you guys, but discussing this as a crime issue is just sort of...uhhhhh....missing the big picture.

It wouldn't matter if the murder rate were 20% higher and other crimes the same.

He's ordering federal forces to seize an American city. There is only one reason. He's testing how much power he has. So far, he's got all of it.

Crime has nothing more to do with this than rodent control.

Keep relying on some sort of political solution founded in Dem messaging, and Trump will hit no boundary. Acid wit and astute argument are not the appropriate instruments to stop a seizure by force.

If anybody gave a real shit about this, there would be a national strike and unbridled outrage. Leaving protest and resistance only in the hands of the persecuted is pathetic. A joyful, self-satisfied, one-time event like "No Kings" is just checking a box. Check here if you did at least something.

There are a lot of checkboxes between that and Check here if you successfully stopped tyranny.

I begin to despise our passivity as much or more than the fascists' malignance. I'm being too polite in this world. I must act more or hate myself.

This. He wants to do this to NYC because we hate his fucking guts.

Moose out front should have told you that it's their belief that only white people have a right to fight tyranny. Hence when there's a facebook rumor that the feds, under a Dem president, will send in fed troops to Texas, Abbott will send in Texas based troops to counteract it.

because he's a nobody who got elevated to high office because he's a political hack. Lots of fascist goons look like complete goofballs - simply because that's what they are.

I have never seen an image of him that doesn’t look awkward.

The funny thing about this is that MAGAts think it's because NYC is liberal.

But recall that until very recently, Trump was a Democrat, and pretty much the entire time he lived in NYC.

NYC hates him because they had to put up with his vainglorious ass for 30+ years and they know who he is.  The whole fascist thing is just icing on the cake.

I'm telling you, this is a test case for him to see how far he can push this agenda.  He wants to move the homeless out of the city and go after this "out of control crime" he imagines.  I don't go into the city often but when I do I feel safe.

Test case was the upside down bible. Then he tested go see if his gestapo force would be fought against and he tested his military threat on LA. This is just another step before all democratic leaning areas are under constant threat.

I'm not someone lacking wide-ranging sources of information. I check my BS feed every now and again to see who god "destroyed" today in some breathless post about something that would've ended a pols career just a few years ago, but barely lingers til the afternoon now. BS doesn't permeate our culture the way Twitter and Facebook do. It's mostly Dems talking to each other, with a heavy slant towards activist and progressive types. Folks who think the Epstein story is doing anything but fading fast are fooling themselves.

This story came out today: Judge denies release of Ghislaine Maxwell grand jury transcripts. Lot of discussion about it, right?

Your second sentence requires interpretation.

The question you ask confirms that you don't have a great list of people you follow. In my feed it was barely a mention because everyone already knew that would be the case. Also it was the gj transcripts, which would have provided zero info that was not already public.

edit - the only thing xitter is permeated with is bots and nazis and sports. There's almost nothing there I'm interested in. Fuck 'em and fuck everyone that supports nazis. Same with FB users.

at an AirBnB this last week, one of the rules was 'no overnight sleeping on the couches'. my dad crashed out on one the last night, clearly for the night, watching TV, sipping whiskey, whatever. when i pointed out the house rule prohibiting that (honestly no big deal but it was a still a rule), his response was a sleepy and content 'mmhmm... but they aren't talking about people like us'.

he's right. like i told him, 'that sentiment is EXACTLY why this country is currently in the shape it's in!' and he probably took that as a positive. 💔

Non-zero?  If Vlad shows up with a suitcase full of cash or a drive with some Bitcoin, plus a fake Rolex, Trump will sign the papers on the spot.

Murkowski can get fucked too.  She so obviously despises everything about Trump and the current state of the party, yet isn't brave enough to do anything about it besides her biannual "WE ARE REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS" press conference with Susan Collins.  Deuces.

If your point is posts on BS are evidence of a conversation outside of the Dem ecosystem, you have yet to support that point. Your second paragraph is an attack of my timeline, which is nonsensical. I'm in the Dem ecosystem. Of course I saw that, and knew it was coming. My experience online is irrelevant to the quesiton of whether normies and centrists are still fired up about #PedoPresident. So is yours.

dotard twice mentioned he was meeting putin in russia in toady's press conference. is this the elder abuse I've been hearing so much about?

I've seen many comment that this is proof that he has plans to give Alaska back to Russia.

Is it weird that I'm MORE concerned that he had no plans to do this prior to today, but he'll do it now just to prove that he didn't accidentally say something incorrect.
