I think the first woman will be a Democratic Party member, but I don't think women will support women anytime soon.

There’s a good chance that first woman President won’t be elected, at least initially. If Biden had been able to stave off the senior moments for a couple of years, we might have been on track for it. Or, if he had a major health event during his term.

America is too backwards and retrograde to elect a woman within the next 50-100 years. Time we all acknowledge and accept that truth.
I truly have no idea how we managed to elect a black guy, but then…doing so broke us irreparably, so there’s that.

This is exactly why I thought Kamala would lose.  Our nation decided that black men, who were considered inferior, lesser, quantified at the value of 3/5ths of a person, were given the right to vote and hold office 5 decades before women were.  5 fucking decades before someone thought to be nothing more than livestock could be allowed to vote.

It is time for the Democratic Party to wake up to that fact.  HRC was probably the most qualified person outside of Biden to run for office in the past decade and she lost to a moron.   It wasn't just the propaganda and media, it was our bias against women holding power.  Too many women also hold this sentiment and would rather vote for a rapist, creep, pedophile than a reasonably competent woman.    It will take about 30-40 more years worth of funerals.

Remember two really important things:
1 - this is who we are. It’s right there, stop pretending it’s any different.
2 - it’s almost certainly who we always have been. TFG has just made it all ok to be that way in public again.

We don’t get past or over this anytime soon. It’s an evil, vile cancer that we’ve never come even close to excising.

And it is 100% who the GQP is. They are nothing, and have no identity left, without it. They deny it…at the same time they agree with it, welcome it, and embrace the support from those who actively practice it. There is no room in the party for those who are not overtly racist, or are welcoming to overt racists. The argument is over.

I'm not sure how this country is supposed to ever be functional again with these people living in it.

That circled area clearly says United States, but Trump the infallible clearly said that they were meeting in Russia before the meeting and then said he was going back to the United States after the meeting, so I don’t think that account knows what they are talking about.

Yeah…Alicia looks her age these days, and it’s a damn fine look. No Botox or major work, and she’d be one of your faves in the mom group in your hood.

I like the phrase, "beautiful at every age." Not all persons are.

The masturbation kings seem shocked, as they rub their wrinkly puds,  that people age. Go to the "I can't believe this is the same actor" thread. They seem to feel betrayed by nature's course.

I'd be curious to see if women voting against women outnumbers men voting for women. The vast majority of men I know would never vote for a woman. I have no clue how many of the women I know feel the same way.

If Comey had kept his mouth shut then Hillary probably would’ve been our first female president. Or if he had also announced that there was an active investigation into coordination/cooperation between the Trump campaign and Russian intelligence.

If she's attractive, plenty of men will vote for her.

Yep. It was stomped out for years, when the racists didn't have enough validation to vocalize and act on their beliefs due to a monoculture that kept them in line. They were shamed into keeping quiet. Then the Internet/social media reignited their proud racism due to the ability for anyone and everyone to have a voice.

Spoiler

Wyoming Republican Representative Harriet Hageman has once again found herself facing an angry crowd while attempting to defend a Trump administration policy.

The congresswoman tried to justify the government’s planned repeal of the Environmental Protection Agency’s landmark “endangerment finding” to a crowd of voters at a town hall event in the rural town of Pinedale, Wyoming.

The Endangerment Finding is a determination by the EPA that greenhouse gases in the atmosphere pose a threat to public health and welfare, requiring action to reduce emissions. It is based on extensive scientific evidence linking such gases to climate change.

“The endangerment finding is absolutely based upon false science,” Hageman claimed.

Her comments were met with a chorus of boos and heckles, with locals shouting, “No!” and others chanting, “Lie, lie!” as she attempted to press on.

“CO2 is not a pollutant,” Hageman shouted over the crowd. “As far as the validity and the science that was the foundation for that, they cooked the books.”

“It was well attended with a spirited crowd and I welcome the opportunity to have meaningful discussion,” Hageman wrote in a statement posted to Facebook about the Pinedale town hall meeting. “As your representative, I am here to listen, answer the tough questions, and fight for Wyoming’s values in Washington.”

Video of the incident has yet to surface online. However, this is not Hageman’s first dressing down from a crowd. In videos posted to social media in March, Hageman can be seen trying to tell a crowd at a town hall in Laramie, Wyoming, that “DOGE is not dismantling Social Security.” The boos received in that video are so passionate that she struggles to be heard.

Wyoming overwhelmingly voted in favor of Donald Trump in the 2024 election, with the Republican candidate winning 72.3 percent of the vote. However, according to the local publication WyoFile, Sublette County—where the most recent town hall took place—has been struggling with poor air quality thanks to the region’s pioneering use of hydraulic fracturing and directional drilling in its natural gas fields.

According to University of Wyoming polling, 86 percent of Wyomingites now believe that climate change is real and want action taken—something the Trump administration’s hardline approach to repealing emission standards and expanding fossil fuel production directly clashes with.

Hageman’s failure to read the room in her latest town hall suggests she and other Republicans may continue to have a hard time selling the administration’s policies to their constituents, whose interests they are supposed to represent
