Arch is +500 for the Heisman. He'll be in NY, I think the odds are good. I just love the way he throws the ball. It looks like he is playing the game on another level. He just has all the physical tools

Nah, I think he’s got a target on his back with both the national media and college football fans just itching to tear him down.  Hope I’m wrong

How was he allowed on the sideline with a headset as an analyst?

They changed the rules to allow that a year ago

Would anybody trade PK for Muschamp? Crazy how things have turned out considering the fact that Muschamp was part of the original pitch from Sark. He thought Muschamp to Texas as his DC was a done deal. PK had a rough first year but has been pretty damn good ever since.

Honestly, thank God Jimmy Lake crashed out the way he did.

Big fan of both.  I’d guess Will is the better recruiter but with NIL does that matter as much?

the 2008 to 2010 drop is shocking to see on paper.  We all lived it,  but that's hard to do even if you tried.

The 2011 to 2013 and 2017 to 2019 drops were also bizarre.  Those periods each began with a new defensive coordinator -- Manny Diaz and Todd Orlando -- who fielded stout and vastly-improved defenses in their first years, and then nosedived the following years.  What was it?  Recruiting?  Failure to adjust after opposing offensive coordinators figured out their schemes?

For 2014 we had a solid core of upperclass defensive players but depth was pretty sparse.  That repeated in 2017 to an extent.  Gone in 2018 were Poona Ford, DeShon Elliott, Malik Jefferson, Hilton Hill.

The 2012 defense had a pretty significant contribution from guys that were factors in 2014.

The depth probably had too much reliance on underclass guys then progression until their final years.  Then the core guys left, and you start over.  Specific to Diaz and Orlando, they aren’t great coaches that can sustain but are capable of bigger years when it hits right.

Something I was thinking about this weekend is depth on our defense. We're loaded with playable depth, but there's also numerous guys not projected to start that I would be pretty comfortable with starting a CFP game. Vasek, Derek Williams, Tyanthony Smith and Trey Moore are guys that would be penciled in on a lot of really good teams. Then you've got the freshman class coming in behind, which is probably the most talented group I can remember. PK and his staff have been a god send.

God I hope he doesn't struggle for much, if at all...the media will jump all over the kid and it's not due to anything he did. Just the hype from fans/media around him.

We’re pretty much hitting on all cylinders defensively.  The one negative is that it’s not ideal to have to hit the portal for DT depth.  But in today’s environment it is easier to fill that depth via the portal.

I have not observed it directly but most information points to the fact that our guys are being pushed towards their maximum potential.

Wins, accolades, presumably money, exposure/NFL opportunities are at an all time here.  All those things make it an easy sell for those willing to work and compete.

Didn’t see an SEC Media day thread but they just had Diego Pavia from Vandy on set and he gave a solid interview. He’s a goofball but will be rooting for vandy (barring when Texas plays them)
