I work in retirement plan consulting.   We started a firm wide list of clients that are changing or outright stopping their employer match or profit sharing contributions.  It is not a short list and we only started compiling it in August.

Jesus. I just quit my job. I've got enough for a year. If I live like Mahatma Gandhi, I'm fine. My accountant says that I did this at a very bad time. My stocks are down. I, uh, I-I-I'm cash-poor or something. I got no cash flow. I'm not liquid or, uh, something's not flowing. I know it. But they got a language all their own, those guys.

No, I mean unemployement approaching double digits.   Or higher.

That will be the least of everyone's concerns if that happens.

That will never happen because they will just change the numbers or decide not to report them.  This is a different world we are living in.

While I never knew there were so many dip shits in this country, the numbers still show we are a 1-4 % difference between who gets in power.

I count on Trump and Company being absolute liars. And so they will not issue numbers that are unfavorable.  But the bright side is they are also incredibly stupid.  Which means they will either just quit issuing reports, or say that we have 100% employment when two out of three of your neighbors were laid off.

While maggots will have no problem with that, I would bet my life that unemployed people with no health insurance will not react kindly to this administration lying about those issues.  I’m not saying this guarantees a blue wave, but I am saying that the GOP is going to have to put in a lot more work in their election chicanery efforts to pull this off.

Narrator: They were, in fact, putting in a lot more work in their election chicanery efforts.

CNBC guy almost had the right response there. "That sounds like malarkey. Come on, man!"  Not quite.  The  correct response was "Fuck you. Get outta here with your bullshit, you lying piece of shit."

And Bessent has vaulted into the top 5 most punchable faces list with that smug look after saying "Biden."  Holy shit, that guy needs a beating.

Imagine that you're the GOP treasury secretary and a conservative CNBC anchor tells you to your face that you made up that story.
