Over on the aggy site, they are slobbering all over Jerry's knob for this trade.  So I think that is all you need to know about the state of that program.

Look, what he got for Micah was insufficient. Another Dallas GM got fleeced. But…I have always had questions about Micah. He fades during the season often. He’s weird. He’s a tweener. And yes at times Micah made an incredible impact. For that type of money, I want someone who’s more consistent. And, the Cowboys are a mess overall. It’s not like they are headed to the playoffs. This is a very average team.  This franchise is going nowhere.

Clear admission of a "soft" rebuild.

Always had questions about Parsons.  He's exceptional at what he does, BUT paying a tweener LB $47M per year who is often battling injuries, disappears late in the season, and has cited as locker room issues and cant' stay off social media rants.

29 year drought, one thing is the constant.

Kenny Clark replacing Mazi just further shows how fucking awful Jerry is as a GM. That was your draft choice.

I would wish for Jerrah to DIAFF, but his offspring will still be in charge. Not actual football people. So, we are just fucking doomed for at least the rest of my lifetime.

Yep, pretty much

Stop that. If Dak plays they’re still too good for that.  They’ll continue to middle around about 7-10 wins no matter what

If you look at snaps played without Parsons on the field, they are statistically the worst defense in the NFL. 7 wins is unlikely

True to some extent, but The Jones don’t feel that way. If they did they wouldn’t have traded for Pickens.

Yeah but this one new DT is going to solve all our problems.

Someone on the Cowboys subreddit was joking about the picks - imagine trading Parsons for Mazi and Guyton, lol

I am 100% with this except for the fact that you gave a 32 year old often injured QB $60 million per year and is the highest paid player in the league.  The 85 Bears defense won't save this team if Dak goes down.

I LOVE this trade. I was resigned to accept that Jerry was going to be stupid Jerry and give him a fully guaranteed contract that is outerspace money.

Instead, we get to trade him, get two picks and a day 1 starter, and will not have another anchor of a contract around our neck to actually rebuild for the future.

The only thing better than trading Micha would be to trade Dak and get out of his contract and tank this year for the future.

Also, good luck to Green Bay on this. That is a TON of money to give a guy with 1 career sack in the playoffs. Better hope that's just because Dallas sucks and isn't tied to his inherent inconsistency and/or injury in the future.

Fuck Parsons. He isn’t making a difference in either place, not worth the headache.

This is where I’m at, great player, rarely seemed to be a game changer.

Also, thought it was funny that rumors were he was boarding a plane to Green Bay last night and his camp and Dallas were like "oh no he just went to see a doctor about his back" this morning.

mmmHmmmm

Comparing this is sorta unfair because a) it's a very rare and outlier type of a deal that a rare team would do and b) Oakland gonna Oakland.

That's NOT to day Dallas couldn't have gotten more potentially for Micah, but I hardly think they were fleeced (especially when you consider the money that would have had to be gauranteed and over the terms).

Yet another data point over the last 4 years that not only is JJ the worst GM is football, but is senile now as well.

The cowboys will never even sniff a supbowl with JJ or his dumb fuck son as GM.

Dale Hansen to Jimmy Johnson, "Of the other 31 NFL teams who would hire Jerry to be their GM?"

No.  It was any other franchise in professional sports and Jerry knew it was true.  The cowboys are the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NFL.

Brian Schottenheimer and the Boys must be really thrilled that Jerry is already waving the white flag on the season.  This defense is going to get absolutely abused without a single player that other teams must account for.

Jerry said in his documentary that he likes the criticism and the pain.  He's about to get a healthy dose of it.

He also says he'd do anything for one more Super Bowl before he rides off into the sunset.  Sayonara to that dream my man.

The series is fucking incredible but it is 10000000000% telling of why they have not and can not win again.    Jerry's ego is ALWAYS the priority.

The highest paid non-QB in history, 4 years 188 million dollars, 47mm a year?

People are actually celebrating their team signing up for this for one player who is ineffective against the run and has 1 career playoff sack and is always an injury risk, especially as he adds more mileage to his tween frame?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills seeing people actually upset and disparage Jerry Jones for this one when this is one of the times of the day that the broken clock is actually right.

image.gif.0efb8675af6679777e8373f4aefb89a3.gifFellas. You know better. The Pickens trade didn’t cost much and it wasn’t about winning. It’s about what Jerry wants, which is glitz and glam, as he told us all in the documentary.

As for Dak and Cee Dee, that’s just a whole bunch more of glitz and glam, which costs a bunch more money. Jerry Jones’ sole criteria for success is billions in his pockets, not fielding a competitive football team.

Well when you have the luxury of being "one player away", it's easy to spend that when you put him around an even better defense and a competent offense. The Packers are on their way up. The Cowboys are stuck right where they've been for 2 decades.

So a defense that already lost players and was going to be bad just got even worse by losing the player that makes them a better defense. The statistics bare that out. This all came down to Jerry's ego, yet again. Something happened in the tiff with the agent and no longer being able to railroad Micah to agree to something without his representation. How anyone can side with Jerry after 29 years of evidence of his failures is the real taking of crazy pills. What has Jerry ever done to show he deserves one bit of credibility?

And you trade him to the team that took your manhood from you?

I wasn't talking about the Netflix special.  Dale interviewed Jimmy on the 20th anniversary of Jerry buying the team.
