Can anyone recommend a TV antennae, or are they all about the same and I should just go to Walmart?

All about the same. Walmart, target, amazon etc. One with a longer cord helps because you can move it around to the best spot, but outside of that they are all the same.

I just commandeered my TV guy to install whole house over air antenna. Should have done that a long time ago.

Also, after being rejected on suggestion of Bloody Mary’s for pregame…because they are Red….i ordered this off Amazon…we are so fucking ready:

Of course he does. That was never in doubt. He said Goosby would have gone back into the scrimmage if it were a game. Then when Goosby rested the hand last week instead of practicing the resident morons here shit their panties. Then the clueless fools who are friends in real life with the chief resident moron followed like lemmings.

Of course Goosby was going to rest the minor injury last week.

LOL.  Because coaches are always straight up about injuries.  JFC. You new to college football?  Hopeful he can go and play well but it isn't a "minor injury".

So the latest from YTTV mentions that if they pull Fox,  you can still sign up for the FoxOne app with a free 7-day trial, which will have the game.

And if the signal isn't good, a preamp may be the answer.

Where did he put the antenna? Hoa rules in our subdivision prohibit outdoor antennas, and our roof decking is metal backed, making attic placement impossible too.

Our roof wasn't metal, so in the 60s-70s-80s, the TV antenna in the attic worked like a charm.

The 70s are still with us when I see that!  Lulz.

Would you guys believe that my family had a black and white tv until I was in like 8th grade? And Seguin didn’t get cable tv until I was in high school.

Now, get the fuck off my lawn.

I have one of these…works well, sits on top of the tv (or wall mount), and has a low-profile aesthetic.

I think Federal regulation only allows "reasonable restrictions" and not total bans on antennas for local broadcast reception.  I have the good fortune that I can aim at local towers from the back of my house.  I have this Dinova Boss antenna mounted on the back of my house under the second floor soffit and get great reception.

Homeowner's associations aren't allowed to ban TV antennas or satellite dishes.  It violates federal laws and FCC regulations.  They can tell you that you can't install them in a way that damages any common areas or neighbor's properties, but have to allow a reasonable solution so that you may receive over the air transmissions.  Google FCC OTARD Rules.

I want us to get out of there with a win and no injuries, especially none to key players.

Ever since Colt McCoy, we always seem to be short an important piece or two.

Last year, it was Bond not being at 100% and while I was never high on Ewers to being with, he regressed after the oblique injury.

I just want us to play best-on-best all year.  If we can't win a NC doing that, then we don't deserve it anyway.

Let me shorten all this for you.

Let's go up to Columbus and fucking destroy their world. It's 2025 and it's time.

No coach says a guy could come back in if it was a game if it's a 3+ week injury. They all say it's "day to day" if it's that long. There was never a doubt Goosby would play unless he injured himself again afterwards.

Also, Sark has been way more forthcoming and honest about that stuff than the usual coach since day 1 here. Have you not paid attention?

Was he the guy who transferred in from Montana? I think he was a kicker and a coach or someone talked him into trying out for the team and he made it.

Found the best alternative is to find a bar and watch the game. Seems to work much better antennae, especially since you have a built in excuse to go. Why waste it

People with young children who have wives that don't care if they watch but have to be there to help.

We aren't talking to a bunch of 20 somethings or early 30 somethings anymore...

I get that, but this is a legit excuse. Apologize, but I cannot watch the game at home because Fox and YouTube are in a battle. Will work on some, not on others.

Both teams struggle to move the ball in the first half. Ohio State pulls away late. Missed FGs and poor special teams play cost Texas in the end.

Here is a good, recent reddit discussion on antennas with lots of resources. There are simple answers and complex ones. The further out/more remote you are the more complex the answer.

Listening to OTF talk about physicality. I really hope we see a change in the offense. Texas led the nation in passes under 5 yards and were an outside zone team. Tough to be physical when you so much of your offense in on the outside. Heard about more snaps under center this offseason. Really hoping to see much more of a downhill approach on offense, instead of the horizontal attack.

How does TX feel about its running backs this year?  Blue was a scary beast and I'm glad (for this week) that he's gone.

Recovery is the big question, as in, has Baxter recovered sufficiently to be a significant contributor.  Same with Clark.  If either one can provide some meaningful carries this season, that gives our offense a huge boost.  I don't think anyone is expecting anything from the true freshman, at least not on Saturday.

Even if Baxter and Clark are both limited on Saturday, I think Wisner is still a quality and experienced back.  The bigger question in Columbus is how the offensive line performs for him.

We return the only 1000+ yd rusher in the SEC and yet Baxter may keep him on the bench. I think confidence in the RB room is high

I think Wingo is going to go off Saturday.  His talent and drive plus opportunity with Arch.  I could see a huge coming out party.

The entire Buckeye mediasphere seems to be sleeping on him. I love it. Arch and Wingo are gonna take the top off that defense if they play us too tight.

Blue had some great plays, mostly receiving for us, but he was a frustrating player. He never met a shoestring that couldn't tackle him, and if the hole wasn't huge, he didn't go through it. Poor vision. Feel good about our RB room.

Why hope? You should expect this, because Arch is very capable of throwing the deep ball moreso than Ewers.  The offense was absolutely limited by Ewers' inability to move the pocket, step up and connect on deep balls.

Did you not watch either of Arch's 2 starts?

I know you're kind of an absolutist, so you're not going to buy-in on something until you see it confirmed like 3-4 times, but thinking about what Texas did last year with different personnel versus what they'll do this year, and having the worry be that Sarkisian will just do the same shit, is bizarre.

When Sarkisian has the talent to run inside, and the talent to pass downfield, he's had his offense do those things. Like, there's a long history of that. So, yeah, we're going to see a more downhill approach.

Separately, the defense is fucking physical. They've made a point of showing the world that year in and year out, so the team is going to exhibit plenty of physicality.

Health is the big question, but our perception of our RBs last year will be very different than yours if you only watched the semifinal game.

Blue was very limited as a runner and a horrible pass blocker. With fumbling issues to boot. He was confined to a role as a pass catcher with some upside for explosives on the ground if a play was very well blocked or a defense messed up their fits.

Wisner was our best back, but he has physical/size limitations and was worn down to the point of ineffectiveness by the time we played.

The group on Saturday should be much more well-rounded at the very least. Baxter, even if not fully healthy, will be our best short yardage back and pass blocker. We missed both of those dynamics badly last year. So better than what we had last year but not as good as what y’all had (at least early in the season).

Defense is absolutely physical. Little tougher this year with no spring game. I have been steadfast that I expect changes in the offensive philosophy this offseason, but you are correct on me needing to see it. We will see changes, just how much is the question.

If you can watch Texas play while around other people other than at a game, you’re a much better man than I am.

More talking about seeing the run game become more of a downhill focus. I would bet a lot that the aDOT is significantly different this year. We saw that last year. Arch had an aDOT of 11.1 vs 5.9 for Quinn (i thought it was in the low 7s, but AI just shot out 5.9 quoting PFF).

It depends on how they have recovered from injuries and how much some have improved.

As was stated before, Wisner is the only returning SEC 1000 yard rusher.  He can hurt you in the run game and pass game, but he is not our sledgehammer.

Baxter is a big, physical and fast back, but he is coming back from a MAJOR knee injury so we aren't real sure how much his snaps will be limited.

Gibson is a physical back, but he had ball security issues last year and needs to take that next step.

Clark is supposed to be our most well rounded back but he's coming back from an Achilles injury.

Either way, I see that part of the game being tough sledding especially with Downs's ability to tackle so well in the open field when defending the run.  Does that son of a bitch ever miss a fucking tackle one on one?

The best thing I can say about our OL, is that all our guys have been in the same system and scheme their entire UT career. Two guys have no starting experience, but the other 3 have played in huge games for Texas.

By contrast, the greatest OL ever at OSU is counting on guys that weren't in the program until the spring, and you have a different OC and likely a different blocking schemes.

I just laugh at the drowngrade in the booth from Kelley to Hartline.
