What does that even mean he’s riding a green Trump like a donkey? Trump is a democrat? The kid is ANTIFA?

They have nothing to do with the idea, self preservation is the only motivation.

Maybe. But I thought it was a tribute: Trump is carrying Robison on his shoulders.

Might just be anecdotal but the Trayvon Martin killing was the first time I really noticed the seemingly normal people offline posting some really horrendous shit online.

Corresponds pretty closely with the rise of social media.

Obama election for me. Member Buck Burnette? Oh, I member.

IMO this kid wouldn't have killed Charlie Kirk if he wasn't proficient with firearms.

I know there's little that can be done about gun culture, and I'm not implying that it's an overall negative. But as parents we have to be more thoughtful about it.

I thought Valhalla was for those slain in combat?

It would make perfect sense for these little-dicked, aggy-Corps-goes-to-Washington, dress-up leaders to make that reference.  Charlie Kirk and Cash Patel are a pair of real tough guy warriors.  Sure.

That party is way, way too online. The Elder Millennials, Gen Xers, and Boomers who embraced MAGA are digital Peter Pans who all desperately want to anonymously shitpost like a 9th grader in a discord server and can't accept that they're grown ups with responsibilities and who are expected to behave like grown ups that understand their actions have real world consequences. From "Based Mike Lee" to Don Jr, these people are extremely broken but because of dark money there is no way any of them can be held accountable in any meaningful way. They're simply shielded from the consequences of their immaturity, but permitted to inflict them on everyone else.

It's kind of hilarious that this boy was marched down to the police station like this is some episode of Andy Griffith and the daddy found out his boy was shoplifting.

Jeff Tiedrich is about the only thing keeping me sane these days. Another great read today. His Substack should be on everybody's daily "to-do" list.

the worthless scribblers of the corporate-controlled press are not our friends, and they haven’t been our friends in a very long time — but that doesn’t make it any less galling to see them, in a time of crisis, pushing government propaganda and hatewashing divisive shitweasels.

yesterday morning, The Wall Street Journal tweeted out twaddle that no responsible news outlet should have published without first double-checking the shit out of it.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

“Breaking: Ammunition engraved with transgender and antifascist ideology was found inside the rifle authorities believe was used in Kirk’s shooting, sources say.”

oh, sources are saying this, that the assassin’s bullets were engraved with ‘transgender ideology’? thank god the Journal is getting their information from unnamed government sources who obviously have no political agenda to push. praise the day. thank you for enlightening us and making our lives ever-more richer, Wall Street Journal.

first of all, what the fuck?

and second of all, what the fuck?

beyond ‘just let me be who I am,’ there is no such thing as ‘transgender ideology.’ it’s a buzzphrase created by conservatives who want to ‘prove’ such hallucinatory nonsense as ‘the transgenders have an agenda and are coming for your children.’

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

really, Heritage Foundation? ‘they promote a radical expressive individualism in which people are free to do whatever they want’?

wait a minute, isn’t that libertarianism? the horror. what a complete fucking nightmare for the ‘don’t tread on me’ crowd to be told that other people want that same freedom.

they ‘define the truth however they wish’? I don’t know about you, but that seems to me to be exactly the world America’s Mad King wants to create for himself, where he does whatever he wants, and defines the truth as whatever he says it is.

just seeing the phrase ‘transgender ideology’ coming from anyone in this government should have raised huge red flags in the Journal newsroom. someone should have stood up and said ‘we are being spoon-fed propaganda and maybe we should think twice before publishing it.’

but beyond that, let’s have a little critical thinking here. engraved bullets? oh please. don’t piss on our heads and tell us it’s raining.

these unnamed government sources want you to believe that Charlie Kirk’s killer, someone with the marksmanship to take down a target with one bullet from 200 yards out, was sitting there in his free time, engraving manifestos onto bullets?

come on. if you were browsing though Netflix and saw this as the premise of one of their shitty thrillers — elite assassin by day, engraver by night — you would roll your eyes and scroll right the fuck past it.

oh, and guess what. none of the shit being pushed by the Journal and their mysterious sources turned out to be true.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

But a senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation cautioned that report had not been verified by A.T.F. analysts, did not match other summaries of the evidence, and might turn out to have been misread or misinterpreted.

‘did not match other summaries of the evidence’ is polite newsroom-speak for ‘it was a fucking lie.’

here’s a concept that seems to be eluding our media right now: one can both denounce and abhor political violence, and, at the same time, condemn hate-mongers.

but we’re not getting that from the worthless scribs. they’re over-correcting. the very same people who sanewashed Donny’s incoherent mouth-farts about sharks and batteries and Hannibal Lecter wants to have you for dinner are now are now sanewashing Charlie Kirk.

the question must be asked, is there a gas leak in Ezra Klein’s house? because I’m not sure there’s any other way to explain this:

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

“Charlie Kirk Was Practicing Politics the Right Way”

oh, come on. this guy’s whole deal was to be as toxic and divisive as possible. tell me, is this the ‘right way’ to do a racism?

Consider what Kirk said about Black women leaders and affirmative action. Assailing affirmative action “picks” Joy Reid, Michelle Obama, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Kirk said, sickeningly, “you do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken seriously” without affirmative action. “You had to steal a white person’s slot.”

if that’s the ‘right way,’ I sure as fuck would hate to see what the wrong way is.

Charlie Kirk did not deserve to be assassinated. but at the same time, he did not earn the right to be sainted.

it’s kind of ironic that yesterday was the anniversary of 9/11, because we’re seeing a lot of the cowardice displayed by the media then, being duplicated now.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

During a back-and-forth with the MSNBC anchor Katy Tur on Wednesday, Mr. Dowd remarked that Mr. Kirk had been pushing hate speech, adding that “hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.”

Rebecca Kutler, MSNBC’s president, apologized for Mr. Dowd’s remarks, calling them “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable.”

we saw this kind of fuckery play out over and over in the wake of the 2001 terror attacks. any on-air personality who tried to analyze if the terrorists might have had a beef against US foreign policy and imperialism was unceremoniously shown the door and had their careers end up in the shitter.

look, emotions were running high on Wednesday, and maybe Matthew Dowd could have waited 24 hours before saying what he said — but where was the lie?

for fuck’s sake, explaining why something might have happened is not the same thing as justifying it.

I can’t believe that I have to explain any of this to the media.

do better, you cowards.

meanwhile, what the fuck is going on with Dear Leader’s health?

check out Donny at the Pentagon 9/11 Observance yesterday. on top of the cankles and rotting hands, now it appears that every muscle on the right side of his face has gone sleepy-bye.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

where is the press? if Joe Biden had ever shown up in public with half his face at half-mast, the press would have shit a massive brick. it would be the top story everywhere. the worthless scribs would be screaming for answers.

Republicans would be calling for Joe’s resignation — and Comer Fudd would have already subpoenaed Biden’s face.

but because we live in the Shittiest Timeline Ever™, everyone pretended not to notice.

Was thinking about this topic.  When did the country permanently turn to the dark side?  I suppose there’s an argument that is was when the country was created as a nation with legal slavery.  Or when the South wasn’t properly reconstructed.  Or when Obama was elected (scaring the racists annd the opportunists who manipulate them into activating).  Or when that piece of shit came down that escalator in 2015.  Or when he was allowed without consequence to claim the primaries were rigged.  Or when he won the primary in 2016.  Or he won the presidency in 2016.  Or Jan 6.  Or when he was re-elected.  Who knows.  But yeah, the moment is almost certainly in the past.

Every point in our country's history contributed to this moment.  More recently:  the Civil Rights movement, the pill and the rise of feminism, the Federalist Society and Newt Gingrich, Citizens United, repeal of the Fairness Doctrine, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, the internet, Trump.  Add in the reduction of the middle class, huge income inequality, the failure of the U.S. education system, the existence of the 2nd Amendment, "Christian" fundamentalism, the election of a black President, the near election of a female president, huge numbers of brown immigrants who speak Spanish and the general character of Americans as rich, self-belief in exceptionalism, entitled, frontier-inspired independent and ignorant and there you go.

There's a million inflection points, but for me, it was in 2016, when people decided they'd rather elect Donald Trump, who was manifestly wrong to be president by any objective measure, over the clearly competent and capable Hilary Clinton, because she was annoying. Including a lot of people on this board who later regretted that decision.

Everything after that is spin, reaction, and rationalization.

Yep.  And once in the afterlife, they spend eternity battling each, just for fun.  Hacking the shit out of each all day, drinking mead out of horns all night.  That's the super-macho violent paradise they think Charlie fucking Kirk is part of. They think that dweeb is a warrior.  They think they are all warriors.

This is my first impression too. I wish I had just a smidge of confidence that we'll get the true results of the killer's computer being scrubbed, but I have a sinking feeling that no matter what the actual contents are we'll be told it was nothing but HuffPost articles and Maddow videos from youtube.

Nah it was 2008 when people had the audacity to elect a black man president. If that doesn’t happen then trumps little dive into politics doesn’t begin.

I don’t think this is true. It gives us insights into the potential political slant his parents may have pushed on him.

People need to calm down with assumptions. Just because his family might've been Republican or conservative doesn't mean the kid was. If anything, the kid just may be an edgelord like we're seeing more and more of with young white males. We'll find out more but people need to stop trying to spike the football until more comes out.
