Thanks for posting. I’m not a religious person, but his words brought a tear to my eye.

(Paraphrasing) “All of humanity are God’s children” tracks with the Christianity (and I am certain this belief is not limited to Christianity) with which I am familiar, growing up in the Dallas area. I, too, have left organized religion behind, but hearing condemnation about the whole of Christianity, due to justifiable outrage at some who claim to be Christian, has been heartbreaking.

I was in Oregon last week and saw a setup like this with a big sign that said "END MAIL-IN VOTING NOW!"  There were like 3 people there, and they had some stupid meme signs with Kotek on them, like she's some horrible villain. They really are brainwashed to think that mail-in voting is all fraudulent.

Thanks so much for sharing this and showing up. I'm happy for any American showing up yesterday wherever, but it's a little bit easier for people in libbed up cities like Austin, SF, Chicago, Seattle, Portland etc to hit the streets in protest than it is for people in little towns in deep red parts of Texas where you really stand out to your townfolk. That takes a lot of give-a-shit-ness and these people deserve every high five possible. Honestly hits me right in the feels.

My wife is from Navasota and was very happy to see these pics too.

I grew up a Cowboys fan, and my father took me to see several game a year. Which explains why I am watching the Cowboys play the Commanders. The local Fox station aired a plug for their news program by stating several No Kings protests “got out of hand.” The plug worked. I’ll be watching to see if they can back up that statement with fact.

If they don’t, I’ll be open to ideas to legally fuck up their shit.

Saw the exact same shit and thought “what the fuck”.  All in all, everything I’ve heard was peaceful, outside of isolated incidents stoked by maga!

This was a local Fox 7 douchbag

2.  If these protests don't matter, why has the administration and their media mouthpieces spent so much time bashing them

This reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of how fascism works, in my opinion. The fascist reacts to opposition not because it is a genuine threat, but because it presents an opportunity. The illusion of persecution and struggle against an exaggerated enemy is critical to the fascist mythology. Fear drives support for a strong man, and it must be perpetually stoked.

Another way to understand it is pro wrestling. Promoters sell tickets by convincing fans that the challenger is a legitimate threat to the champion. No one would care if there was no struggle, no monster to vanquish. So everyone gets in on the act, talking up the challenger, exaggerating his deeds and inflating his reputation in the eyes of the audience. Then the champ wins and it starts all over again with some new threat.

There’s a reason Hitler named his biography “My Struggles.” It’s all crowd control psychology. Trump learned fascism from his time in wrestling and he is a master at it.

Was at the downtown Dallas rally. Was an awesome experience. Our march chant was probably more profane than most, but it served the purpose.

Something I learned when Fox News was just making up shit about the Seth Rich murder: if there is no one being directly financially impacted, there is no legal consequence. They can lie all they want.

I just got back from the one in Austin.  It was my first political rally/protest of any kind.  The crowd was very large, but to me it felt…ineffectual.  Im glad I went but I think the time for that stuff was 2-10 years ago.  I was surprised there weren’t more Trumpers out there.

I still predict we don’t get out of this mess without a lot of violence and an economic depression.

Just like the civil rights protests in the 60s it's about optics. The visuals going out over TVs of racist cops unleashing dogs and firehouse on children and adults who stood and took out like champs became unpalatable for Americans in great enough numbers it eventually changed laws.

This organized resistance today has 2 advantages over that. While it also has horrible visuals of trump's gestapo attacking children and families,  it also has a major negative economic impact for 80+% of Americans.

The other advantage is the trump admin is completely inept. They are not able to control the narrative when they're this shitty at running things. Everyone in trump's orbit only lies to him because they know telling him the truth of how badly things are going will only get them fired. That means his administration is incapable of making adjustments to regain control of the narrative and strengthen their position.

The main reasons he won are because inflation hurt Biden's economy while democrats were terrible at controlling the narrative,  and because podcasters and comedians online made trump seem like the"cool" alternative to uptight and stuffy democrats. Now,  trump owns the destruction of the economy since January and all the gestapo shit isn't cool. The videos of fun, party protests and maga lunatics looking like maniacs are making opposing trump the new cool.

Remember, most Americans are complete morons. You don't win them over with substance,  you win them over with sizzle.

But yes, getting out of this to any semblance of improvement is going to be painful and there's going to be casualties. Especially with the economic damage we're sustaining and the billionaire problem Americans are facing. It's going to get uglier and uglier before any improvement can be forced. Has to bottom out to cause change. This is just the beginning of the process.

Now go vote.

And get as many out to vote as you can.  If each of us can get two or three like-minded individuals who don't normally vote to get off their asses and do so, we can win.

Maybe the 75 million maga voting Americans account for 90 percent of litter and trashiness.
