No way Freshwater leaves Ole Miss. Not a chance with his daughter there. I'm sure UF has much deeper pockets, but he doesn't like to recruit, and he loves the portal. He's got it made at a school that is happy to get to 9 wins, and I believe he's only their second coach to ever get them to 10 wins. Twice. He has it made and has almost zero pressure.

Kentucky will be 0-8 in the conference and that should get Mark Stoops fired but he has a huge buyout so Kentucky might give up trying to field a competitive football team. When Texas plays Kentucky our quarterback will have more turnovers than completions. Drinking is popular in Kentucky because of the football program.

Thank God for volleyball.

That's what Florida thought

The Florida example proves the point. Napier does not get the kind of contract he received in today’s NIL world. It’s better to hire a relatively unproven coordinator type and set up a bigger player budget. The inverse Kentucky.

Lane Kiffin wants to win a NC. I don't think he is any different in that regard with the coaches you'd group him with. If he stays at Ole Miss, it's not because he looked around and thinks he could just cruise there.

The way Kiffin has things rolling at Ole Miss, it's a lateral move.

IMO, Drinkwitz would be a better choice for UF. Younger, innovative offense, likeable. Good fit

I'm not lying when I say mizzou talks like they're a blue blood now and laugh at anyone who thinks he would leave.  I do think they have a little money but that joke of a stadium, complete lack of tradition etc makes me wonder why anyone who consider that a destination gig.

I just don't personally see Freshwater as a fit at Florida, even if he's not leaving Ole Miss yet, anyway. It just seems like a weird fit, culturally speaking. He'll have big check writing dick heads breathing down his back and he'll have a magnifying glass on him at all times. Does he really want that? I get ALL HC's want to win a NC, but not all HC's want that kind of pressure, and they'll expect him to immediately turn things around in 2 years.

More money, more problems.

If Lane left Ole Miss, it’s nothing he couldn’t handle, but it would be a solid week of Finebaum caller diatribes and SEC Rant meltdowns.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

How is it a weird fit? They both are the south. There’s no vast cultural difference between the university of Florida and and the university of Mississippi. It’s not like going from Mississippi to Boston.

You’re also not thinking about one key thing with coaches, especially coaches like Kiffin—pride. Kiffin has a ceiling at Mississippi. He wouldn’t at Florida. And he can win with home grown talent in Florida plus the portal.

I’m not sure why you are taking it personal about Kiffin to Florida.

I could see him wanting a little separation from his daughter, it’s got to be brutal for freshwater to hit the bars wondering if he’s going to wake up with one of her sorority sisters.

UF and a good driver gives him a ton of options within 1.5 hours for  anonymous bar excursions in Jacksonville, Orlando or Tampa.

I believed Joey Freshwater was at home in Oxford until the documentary about how he’s finally at home in Oxford and will never leave cause it saved his life.

Sumbitch is from Norman, so Drinkwitz could be in line for OU if things fall his way. I didn't know Missourians were as delusional as aggy about being a destination gig. They're not for anyone with better options.

I guess it's because Norm Stewart was in Columbia forever, and Gary Pinkel hung around there for 14 years.
