The GQP: Trumpist Death Cult

A reminder that the Department of Defense inspector general issued a scathing review of Rep. Ronny Jackson during his time serving as the top White House physician, saying that, while earning his taxpayer salary, Jackson took prescription-strength sleeping medication that prompted concerns from his colleagues about his ability to provide proper care, made "sexual and denigrating" comments about a female subordinate, and violated the policy for drinking alcohol while on a presidential trip. He's also under investigation by the House Ethics Committee.

That listed only 12, so I went looking for the full list. She's on it -- no surprise.

But I did have to look up who the Cloud asshole is. He represents represents a good chunk of the Coast and Coastal Plains: Corpus, Rockport, Victoria, Pt. Lavaca, Bay City, El Campo, Gonzales, Luling, and closer-to-home Cedar Creek (between Austin & Bastrop). Spread the word to family/friends down there.

The House approved a resolution on Monday that expressed support for Finland and Sweden joining NATO, exactly two months after the Nordic countries submitted applications to become part of the military alliance amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The resolution cleared the House in a 394-18 vote, with only Republicans voting in opposition. Two Democrats and 17 Republicans did not vote.

The GOP lawmakers who voted “no” were Reps. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Dan Bishop (N.C.), Lauren Boebert (Colo.), Madison Cawthorn (N.C.), Ben Cline (Va.), Michael Cloud (Texas), Warren Davidson (Ohio), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Bob Good (Va.), Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Morgan Griffith (Va.), Thomas Massie (Ky.), Tom McClintock (Calif.), Mary Miller (Ill.), Ralph Norman (S.C.), Matt Rosendale (Mont.), Chip Roy (Texas) and Jefferson Van Drew (N.J.).

Thank god for all those astroturfed school board meetings and angry parents freaking out about mask mandates in Virginia schools. Right guys? I’m sure it’s totally was worth having a governor support a total abortion ban and appoint state officials who support secession.

The land of frizzy mullets and lifted pickups might be the trumpiest part of Texas outside of the DFW exoburbs.

I mean, you write this like there is a lesson to be learned, or consequences are being delivered. But...yeah, they got EVERYTHING they wanted. Everything.

He's another self-loathing queen like Roy Cohn. My brother (gay) once gave a brilliant little speech about the dangers of the "sick queen." He used J. Edgar Hoover as an example. I think Cohn and the mutt above also fit the bill.

Wishing AIDS on anyone is horrible. Paving the way for it should be criminal. It's certainly inhuman. I have as much regard for this man's life as he does for those he despises. I hope he dies.

Their lives would be better if they’d enroll at Texas State next spring and take a college course on Harry Styles

Texas turning into an absolute shithole while a Texas university os offering a class on Harry Styles.

I'll take a hit for this. The class requires critical thinking, writing, and reading a variety of respected authors. Students will gain a context for a pop culture icon.

Styles makes it relevant for some. Maybe even enjoyable. I have no quibble. It just can be made to sound bad which, I believe, is what political correctness was originally all about.

Edit to add: Your lament (sadly extremely accurate) about Texas turning into a shithole may only be slowed or prevented by persons able to think critically no matter where they learned how. There is no course of instruction that can teach how to save Texas.

I think we should use the rhetoric and technique, and turn it on its head: "My opponent poses with a gun because he's a gutless coward.  Our founding fathers governed this nation with ideas and wisdom.  They didn't pose with firearms to try cover up their weakness.  I won't either.  Like my opponent, I know how to use a firearm.  Unlike my opponent, I also know how to use the wisdom passed down by generations of leaders.  My opponent can take his silly posing and fragile ego to a cosplay convention.  As for me?  I'll be heading to Washington, to represent you in a government of the people, by the people and for the people."

Note: in my original ad copy, I called the opponent a complete pussy for posing with a gun, but I'm guessing that wouldn't make it on the air.  But it's the truth.  You can tell how much of a pussy a candidate is by how much he depends on posing with a gun.

I'd only change one thing about this.  Make sure to make it clear they are overcompensating for a small penis.  "When he's in the gym showers, you can look all you want but there's nothing to see there."  I dunno, something.  Then I'd bring it up constantly, make the guy feel like he actually needs to whip is dick out to prove you wrong.

If we weren't talking about politicians, you have a point.  But there are very very few politicians I've ever seen that had me thinking about their dick.  Politics is Hollywood for ugly people.  But I'd have a look at Harry Styles dick if he wanted to show it. Mostly so I could report back to @Bama Chick.

But if my approach above did get that politician to whip out their dick, I don't care if he pulls a baby leg out, I'd point and laugh and say something like, "See, I told you he had a micropenis. He's only got 12 inches, such a tiny little thing!"

This article is SO illuminating re: how fucking crazy the GQP is.

House Republican who voted against certifying 2020 election results now says Trump 'lost his mind' and that it 'would be best for the party' if someone else led it in 2024 (msn.com)

Nutshell:  A GOP congressman who voted against certifying the 2020 election results (meaning he voted FOR Trump) now says that Trump is crazy.  The catch?  He's not running because, after saying he supported a ban on assault rifles in the wake of the Buffalo grocery store massacre, the GQP withdrew its support, so he announced he would not run again.

Next to their Blue lives matter, MAGA, CATI, and various gun fetish stickers.

I’m in Kerrville, at Discount Tire. The truck in front of mine’s rear windshield has the appropriate Salt Life sticker on the left, but on the right side is a picture of an AR-15 with “Pew Pew Specialist” underneath it. The driver of aforementioned assault vehicle goes about 5’5 225lbs.

I was a Country Kitchen man myself during my one Lampasas visit. Appears to be closed now for some reason.

You may have it confused with what, up until a few years ago, was called the Kountry Kitchen Kafe in Hico, Lampasas's neighboring town.  Now they have removed the racism and just call it Koffee Kup. I guess that was around the time they removed the mural of a lynching from downtown.

Didn't we already nominate you to go up against these dipshits using these very tactics?  No chance of winning, but just call them on their bullshit over the next year and a half.  I'm serious, we could start a Surly PAC that could at least get you a couple of ad slots.

It's been the Koffee Kup for at least close to twenty years now, but I always suspected there was a sinister history behind the name
