Let's say that's true.  wtf does that have to do with Sark?

If it's a current player it has to be investigated. Sark is in a position of power.  I'm not saying it's true but under that hypothetical his employer would have to certain questions like know did Sark approve or know about it ?  When he found out did he punish the player?  It's messy.

I actually feel for the guy and can see why he might want a fresh start just knowing what is public (on and off again marriage with new baby).  This is also the reason why I would push him to get help on the OC side to lighten his load especially if he took 30 days to stay clean earlier in the year.

On what planet?

I mean outside of quien es mas macho land, it should probably be expected that a football coach is not home "tending to the Mrs." in a whole variety of ways that might invite infidelity or other forms of marriage failure.   None of which are particularly the coach-spouse's fault.

We like to laugh at Jimbo and spin all kinds of porn-influenced scenarios, but I imagine most coaches' marriages are tenuous on a number of fronts, just like a lot of men and women with occupations that demand an excessive amount of their time and attention.

You'd like to think a guy with that kind of job or prospects would choose a wife accordingly, but I think that's asking a lot.  No amount of premarital discussion can really prepare one for prolonged spousal absence.

Let's say it's true, and that it was Golden.  The guy was drafted and is gone.  What is an "investigation" going to turn up?  Sark was pimping out his wife to players?  Come on.

Well, the only thing we know about Sark's wife is she's seemingly obsessed with fashion and makes Sark wear shit that looks completely ridiculous on a middle aged Armenian dude.

Other than that, everything else is just rumor with no evidence to corroborate. Including that she went cougar with a college player on her husband's team and got pregnant by it. Just wild, unsubstantiated, internet nonsense.

Not saying it's definitely racism, but not saying it isn't either. That could be part of the issue. Especially given the posters who seem to be jumping on it the most and the track record many of them have of supporting people who display racist behavior in our state and nation.

I mean it's Texas. Not a wild claim to say a good portion of the fan base could be racist.

I have no idea what race you are, but you’re a terribly shitty poster. Fuck off.

If y'all haven't heard some pretty despicable comments in the stands, or seen them on forums (including surly), then I don't know what to say.

@TwiceHorn made a salient point before I could:  we know Beard's girlfriend was completely off the rails in NYC and there was no move to fire him for that.  It was only when it got physical between her and Beard that the suspension and ultimate firing occurred.  Sark's wife fucking around on him is not a reflection on him.  Half of married couples experience infidelity.  It's unfortunate but it is true.  As far as Sark's loss of sobriety goes, which doesn't appear to be corroborated, I encourage people to talk to addicts you know about the daily grind.  Beyond that, even if he DID go to rehab is there any reason to believe CDC didn't know?

I agree that Sark doesn't deserve another raise.  I can't say if any feelers he had out there about the NFL were about more money or just an attempt to maintain control of the OC position and play-calling.  I don't really care, it ain't my money.

I had never heard the name Randi before the domestic violence incident.

that time period and threads mimic this situation exactly. Posters came out of the shadows to say they knew this or booster knew that etc etc. her named was NEVER mentioned on the board until the incident (that i saw).

Michelle was much more on the radar with drinking accusations and rumors but no huge embarrassing public moment as far as we knew.

To the addiction point.  Relapses do happen, more often than not.  But the only thing you can ask of the relapsing addict is to get sober and get back on the program.  Rehab doesn't have to be a part of that, necessarily, but it sure can't hurt -- the main benefit being removal from the day to day grind.  And, if it was a serious relapse, like a several day hard core bender, 30 days is probably not the recommended course.  Hell, 30 days is generally regarded as insufficient in most cases.

Anyway, I'm gonna need more than even a credible rumor that that is true before I start to give it any credence.

I was knee deep in raising 4 kids and working at a startup when Herman was here.  I never even heard all the rumors -- some, but clearly not all.  What I do know is that Herman vastly overrated his own abilities, which I suppose isn't all that uncommon for a Type-A narcissist.

On what fucking planet does a coach who has control and proper oversight over his own team, players, and program allow this shit to happen (allegedly)?

It's not another coach or someone from the community.  It's his kids he recruited fucking his wife (allegedly).  How the hell do players and staff have any semblance of respect or fear for such a feckless coach?  Is there a bigger sign of disrespect than this between a coach and player, because if so, I'd love to hear about it.

Question: Is this how any of y'all would talk about a player that fucked your wife?

"He's a fantastic player," Sark said late Thursday night. "Matt showed everyone how fast he was with that 40 time, but his short area quickness, how he gets in and out of breaks makes him truly elite. He has extremely strong hands, makes contested catches, can do it at all three levels – whether it's the short game, the intermediate, the deep balls – and he's at his best in the most critical moments. You top that off with the blue-collar attitude he has, the fact that he's a great teammate who you can really count on day in and day out, that's what really separates him. He works, he's no nonsense, he's tough and does the dirty work blocking linebackers, safeties and event defensive ends. All in all, I think this guy is getting all that he deserves, and Green Bay is going to love him."

Exactly. It became a problem when the world knew about it.

Texas fans know Sarkisian’s wife has dressed him like a clown, America probably has no idea. The wife rumors have mostly only been heard by people paying close attention, even among our fanbase. I have no idea what race has to do with either thing.

It's so embarrassing that it would be used against every other day on the recruiting trail.  Coaches love to negative recruit their opponents and it doesn't get much more juicy than the recovering alcoholic who had a player knock up his wife.

LOL. Besides Mack and Sark, how many coaches has Texas had since Royal? How did they fare?

Sark was an OC from Bama. Let's not act like our swinging dick can get anyone we want and that person will take over without skipping a beat. History says otherwise.

I think there is a bit of difference.  CDC at this time is well entrenched as the AD. We aren't a shitshow in the Ath Dept like we were for Strong AND Herman.

I realize Eltife and BMD's make the call but the AD is important.  CDC has shown he can run a pretty tight ship.  other than our OL debacle you are coming into a pretty good situation and you can address talent issues almost immediately now.

If you want to coach in the SEC, this is a pretty damn good spot.  If you don't, well then it ain't for you anyway.

there are accusations that he went AWOL for 30 days and has left the program on auto pilot. that's fine for a pool boy for a week but not a a guy that makes almost $1,000,000 per month. They've done a better job keeping this shit under wraps, but it's actually a lot worse than what happened to coach beard who had a public spectacle but ultimately was not prosecuted for the allegations (that many believe and understand to have started with a crazy woman).

Going to rehab is not AWOL.  If this was his first visit to rehab since being hired, that typically would not be a fireable offense anywhere, in and of itself.  JFC the guy was an admitted alcoholic when we hired him, he's attending to his condition. Now if he has been repeatedly falling off the wagon and attending rehab multiple times over his time here, while doing stupid stuff unrelated to football, that's a different story. Which no one has alleged...yet.

Yeah, he didn't make any moves during the offseason which is typically the time/place to make changes, nor did he whisper a word when Texas was ranked #1.  No, he waits until his prized QB has show game after game to be unable to play at a high level, and their playoff chances are essentially nil, and there are rumors of a scandal on campus.  THEN he decides to drop a turd in the punchbowl and hint at leaving.

I used AWOL a bit figuratively since it’s not publicly known why he was gone. If he went to rehab preemptively I agree good for him, except there’s a lot of smoke around a hands off approach detrimental to the program. Who the fuck knows but something isn’t adding up for me. His self reflective nature that endeared us to him seems gone. Add absence and hands off approach some have alleged and conclusions could be made. But you know what, nothing is going to happen unless it happens so it’s probably time to drop it all and go back to being a fan and if shit flies we’ll all see it live and in color.
