That's the new talking point. I had a buddy get all riled up about Google this weekend.

But muh algorithm!

Well, Sergey Brin is Russian...he cracked the case!

Hi yes, anyone want to argue with me that Trump isn't a dictator still? He's 100% going to try and incite violence if he loses in 2020.

He is going to incite violence even if he wins.

He's not going to refuse to leave. I think if you're at a point where you actually think he'd somehow refuse to leave office, you're probably in this stuff a little too deep. Like what's he going to do? Barricade himself in? Nobody would support him in it, and he'd almost certainly end up dragged out by the military if he refused to leave. He's just going to tweet repeatedly about how he was robbed in order to continue to inflate his ego whilst sowing discord amongst the country he doesn't give a shit about.

Yeah, right.  Like folks are gonna, I dunno, walk into synagogues, mosques, and Wal-marts spraying bullets to eliminate the undesirables.  What fantasy world do you live in?  That shit is just part of liberal fear-mongering delusions.

Nobody but 35-40% of the country.

The good news is I think the military hates him. Not that I think it will devolve into him trying to start a coup, but who knows.

40% of the country is not going to be supportive of the person that lost the election refusing to leave. I'm sure there will be some not unsubstantial number of people that buy into the "it was rigged" stuff and would cheer it on. Whatever percentage follow that Q stuff. That's probably your number. Not every Trump voter is an idiot or a lunatic. If he tried some sort of coup like that it would absolutely tank our economy. The establishment GOP would turn on him in heartbeat, as would the monied powers that be, as would any semi-rational Republican who cares about their money.

I'm not saying there won't be some decently large amount of people who would support it. But that number is probably closer to 10% than 40%. Regardless, it's such an outrageous concept. It's not going to happen.

The concerns about violence when he loses, however, are absolutely warranted.

Maybe if we started a small movement (that's all it would take) blaming Bing instead of Google, trump will tweet about it

Are you seriously wanting me to believe Hannity, Tucker, and Rush are going to come out and say, "Yes, he lost and for the good of the country he needs to leave office?"  Fuck no they aren't.  The mouthpieces of the Republican Party and the most viewed cable channel out there isn't going to do the right thing.  I think you underestimate how far off the cliff "normal, fiscal" Republicans have gone.

Of course they will. They will be told to by the people that sign their checks.

I will believe it when I see it, but nothing over the last two and a half years has shown me that the folks writing the checks are willing to do anything but capitulate to the monster they've created.  If they go against the beast, they get exposed, in a normal world (though this is certainly not a normal time).  Their viewers write the checks through ratings, and the viewers are cult like loyal to Trump.  OAN is there to step up and take them all if Fox execs decide to do the right thing.  I hope you're right, but could you imagine the ratings for Fox of a fabricated controversy about "illegal/rigged" elections? That would dominate more than, "Hey, he lost, look at that nasty socialist in the White House!".

I'm pretty sure this ends with Trump barricaded in the White House like Tony Montana and a bunch of Marines storming in, only it's a huge pile of cheeseburgers on the desk instead of cocaine, and since Cadet Bone Spurs never learned to shoot, it's over in like 4 seconds.

I hate the theoretical “will Trump leave office?” debate because by discussing it we’re already normalizing him not leaving office.   It’s like I’m watching a self fulfilling prophecy go down in real time.   The fact this is a legitimate discussion also illustrates how much Trump needed to be gone yesterday.

No, not intentionally, but giving the idea more oxygen increases the possibility of it occurring and being accepted.

It’s kinda like how the media took the absurd “Trump wants to buy Greenland” and breathed life into the idea instead of just saying “this is crazy shit, we’re not talking about it.”

It's all about making good TV. Can you imagine what good TV and what reality drama it would be if the losing incumbent refused to leave the White House?  All media hacks would be throwing gas right on that fire to make sure eyeballs were tuned in 24/7.

..and let's hope we don't end up with Bush Gore 2000 situation.  The Onion did a piece back then with Clinton declaring himself "president for life" complete with fascist rhetoric and a picture of him decked out in Mussolini like regalia.  It was funny because it was so over the top ridiculous and because over the top  fascist dictator did not really fit Clinton's personality.  this time, not so much.

I don’t think he’ll pull a Branch Davidian stand-off or anything.

But I could absolutely see him ignoring all past protocol and history and refusing to participate in the usual Inauguration Day pomp and circumstance.

He will totally skip the unity breakfast and greeting the new first family at the White House and probably skip the swearing in of the new president and hold a rally in some holler in West Virginia at the same time as a fuck you.

This is very likely, if not probable. And there's no way he'd cooperate with the inbound administration after they hurt his ego by beating him in the election.

Then on a plane to Saudi Arabia to avoid extradition if he chooses to concede.  His stakes are very high and the consequences are real should he lose.

I still think the possibility of Trump not running or finishing his term is being undervalued.  I’ve always been in the minority on this opinion.

You can get McD’s delivered with UberEats.  Shouldn’t be that complicated.

He’s a coward at heart. He won’t fight. Stop fretting.

Oh and Larry kudlow has been a complete idiot for a long time now.

I had my tonsils taken out in December 2007 so at the time I was sitting at home watching tv and for some strange reason I started watching CNBC a lot.

Kudlow was constantly on there talking about the “Goldilocks economy” and how everything was doing just fine and the economy was doing great.

Shortly after the economy totally crashed and we later learned the recession had just started.

Guy is a substance abuser and a moron. Of course he’s trumps chief economic adviser.

This.  There will be much spouting of empty words.  There is a better than fair chance the Proud Boys or some similar, racist wannabe-soldier dress up group comes out to burn some couches, but that'll be about it.
