"Some evil whorn at HEB planted the listeria in the Blue Bell plant so they could make room for Creamy Creations."

The Hancock HEB is finally getting close to being done with the expansion.  However, it appears they forgot to not only expand, but instead decided to contract their check out lines.  Am I crazy or does that seem like a really bad idea?

I was showing my four year old granddaughter a radar map of the rain today. She started asking whether it was raining at her house, our house, and daddy’s work place. Then she thought for a second, and said “is it raining at HEB?” Classic.

We eat a ton of the garlic hummus, but I had never seen this one before. I guess it was discontinued for a while or something and was brought back recently. It’s very good and herby.

It’s not HEB brand but the boars head Thai chili hummus is fantastic

To offer some contrast, we’re in SOCAL right now. My daughter had heard tale of a store called Erewhon. So we stopped in the Manhattan Beach location.
Jesus tapdancing Christ. It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.
For example, isn’t ALL water “hydrogen infused?”

And here you go…their house brand Louisiana hot sauce. Check out the fucking price. For fucking hot sauce.

Our species had a good run, but I think we’re done here.

Sounds like surly needs to make & market Surly Hot Sauce in California.

I’m just kicking myself for not opening a store that markets to fucking moneyed tech people and hipsters who think nothing of paying $15 for a jar of regular Kalamata olives, $20 for a small jar of house brand Nutella, $25 for a rotisserie chicken, $10 EACH for raw chicken breasts…and Jesus, it goes on. Just printing money selling shit to people who want the image.
Their branded reusable grocery bag? $138. I didn’t miss a decimal. That’s the price. For a canvas shopping bag with “EREWHON” on it.

Hilarious. HEB gives them away free.

Did a search for jalapeño salsa on HEB’s site thanks to the the chips thread, these two products caught my eye. Either worth a shit?

I get the Culinary Cowgirls Lone Star Queso pretty regularly.  It's good, not a world beater, but i don't think I could roll my own for less and sometimes you just want some chips & queso now.  I'd bet their other two offerings (including the one you asked about) are pretty decent.

Looking to have a little cheat day this weekend and wanted some Blue Bell Pecan Pralines and Cream.  Not only did my HEB not have it, the Blue Bell pint section has been limited to a single row - maybe 10 flavors?  I'm no shill for Blue Bell, just pointing out the seriously reduced inventory.

It's called Royal Blue, and they have several locations downtown.
