This may have prompted him to move up his announcement of his prez bid, so they can claim New York is filing charges just to prevent them from winning

Well, it's not like the state of New York hasn't fucked around with its thumb up its ass since dotard was thrown out of office.  I still believe NY should have had a stack of indictments six feet high ready to go the second that cunt was out of office, but no... it seems they are just now bothering to investigate the shitbag.

Y'all know where I stand on this tub of splenetic human taint-scabs.

But I don't like General James going co-op style with the Manhattan D.A.  I get the legal basis for doing it, but I fear this opens them up to dropping the ball on something and blaming it on "miscommunication between the two teams."  This just whispers to me, "Preemptive excuse machine."  Albany was all fucking set to go, no need to candy this thing up.  I have a bad feeling about this development.

I'm mixty. On the one hand, I agree with your 'bad feeling about this.' On the other, I am speculating that the Giuliani can of worms revealed the specifics of the more extensive money laundering that went through the properties in NYC and it has been discussed in other areas on the internet that Giuliani knew of this going way way back when he was there as AG in the SDNY and is the worst kept secret.

Regardless, it's going to get drawn out and like you mention--if it is teed up, then hit the ball, because drawing it out gives opportunity to watch the storm clouds roll in and the tournament cancelled.

Not sure if serious. They had to go to the Supreme Court essentially twice in order to obtain key documents like tax returns and only got them in Feb. plus I think Vance is using a grand jury- that process takes time.

My confidence is pretty high that he and his org will be indicted for tax and insurance fraud on the state of NY

This worked out well the first time

It may go better in Florida. The attorney general may choose to look the other way as the money flows in and out. The previous AG, Pam Bondi, decided not to prosecute Trump University after conveniently accepting a $25,000 campaign contribution. Think of the expat Russians down there who need a place to wash some funds. So many grifts and DeSantis needs a way to get some of that....however, it may come back to bite all of them in the patookus.

More adorability.

The reality is that everything: the lawsuits, the grift, his children could drag on for years, like a reality show long past its inaugural season where everyone is just plain tired. No one lives forever, however.

Trump presidential library, resort and casino.

So you can gamble on roulette the same way the President gamble with people's lives during Covid-19.

Can we spraypaint the felt on 19 & 45, in bright orange?

This will happen, and he’ll call it the Trump Presidential Library. Book it.

What is amazing about this scenario is Florida has been trying to get casinos legalized for like 50 years so they could put them on Miami Beach but they could never get the legislation to pass because of the Bible thumpers up in the Panhandle were all against gambling.  Now it could actually pass because those same Bible thumpers would vote to help their Orange god out.  Strange times indeed.

Not just the Bible thumpers, the Seminole Tribe was one of the main obstacles because that is one way they can generate revenue. I think they own the Hard Rock licensing in the state.

They've worked out a deal, but I don't know the specifics.

Some tribal leaders are very good at ensuring stability and investing in their community, others not so much. I don't know anyone affiliated with the Seminole, so I can't comment on what they worked out or to who's advantage.

The Seminole part is true but that is more recent.    When I grew up there the Seminoles did not have gambling.  They only had high stakes bingo which started in the late 1970’s and that was all they had for years.  They used to sell cartons of cigarettes real cheap.   I remember driving to the reservation and going through the drive through as a kid so my dad could get multiple cartons of Kools.

Ah, yes, the smoke shops.

I get the history, it was similar in Oklahoma. But once tribes gained some revenue and backing (depending upon the state), their own lobbying got overtaken by others, IMO, because those others saw them as a backdoor way to push by and gain entrance. I hate to say it, but this deal may not have been in their best interest. Will have to wait and see what they hammered out.

An example: Bill Barr and Governor Stitt screwed over several tribes after the McGirt ruling (concerning EPA), and it is a pity that the Cherokee tribe to which Stitt claims membership was unsuccessful in tossing him out (his ancestor reputedly bribed their way in via an official later convicted of fraud). He's very self-serving.

So it was your dad putting his Kools out on my friend's floor?

CSB in another life I handled a case at the Fla. Supreme Court on a casino ballot initiative.

I'd like to hear more about that some time.  I would imagine the Panhandle/North Florida/Central Florida backward rednecks would be one issue, the Indian Tribes would be another issue, the Mouse/Family-Friendly Industrial Beast around the rest of the state not wanting gambling to muddy up their cash cow would be a third issue "We'll go back to the Park and spend money as soon as Daddy wins 17 hands in a row").  And then on top of all that, you got Hymen Roth 90 miles off the coast...plotting...scheming.  He's always up to something.
