A story about a pathetic man's downfall

He got 47% legitimately in 2020.  That still gives me great pause.

But I take solace in the the fact that not half this country is far gone, not even 47%, or 40% of it.

Only 35% of Americans over 18 years of age voted for Donald Trump.

You take into account how man of his voters will die in the next 3+ years...he'll be lucky to have 1 in 3 Americans eligible to vote, voting for him.  That's if he's lucky (and rampantly cheating).

I still don't believe he won the first election legitimately and I think it's fishy he somehow got 7M more votes the second time around. I know way too many people who jumped the train after the first election. it doesn't add up.

but whatever, he lost and fades more into obscurity every day

If you guys really need to get into a McD's...lemme know.  I have some connections here in Austin where I'm fairly well-known.  I can probably work something out.  Stassneyhorn and Rex Kramer won't like that I'm bragging about this, but I can get it done.  Just tell me the location.

Also, serious question---when he does die...people will leave sincere memorials and trinkets for him either at Mar-a-Lago, at Trump Tower, or even at the White House gates because they think he's still President (maybe his hotel across the street).  That's a given.  It'll happen and that's fine, at least it means these people are accepting he's gone.

But what does one leave at a memorial site for a person he's glad to see is dead?  I wouldn't defame the White House with such a thing, but likely at Mar-a-Lago or Trump Tower?  What do I leave there to indicate that I'm glad he's dead and hope he went painfully?  How does one express that in public through physical objects?

Yeah, that's all well and good.

Meantime, in the GQP world, when they completely control the election apparatus in 2024 in some states, like, oh, say Georgia...and they don't like the result, they just won't go along with the result.  It's legal now for them to just appoint whoever they want, certify it and send it to the House.  Do that in just a handful of states  and it doesn't make a shit what the percentages are.

That's the plan.  It's so simple.  It will work.  Depressing, yes.  But that's what this past election did; it spurned the GQP legislators and governors in some states to embrace the unthinkable.

Elections have consequences.

Again, this is how it should be...  But is he fading into obscurity, really?  See all the Republicans in the Senate voting against an independent commission to investigate the Jan 6 insurrection.  They're all either terrified of him or they understand that Trumpism still rules the GOP, or both.

I really don't think we've seen the last of him, his kids, or his acolytes, and it might be a full generation before we have.

tldr: federal employees who had their payroll taxes deferred under Dotard's idiotic plan now have to pay them back (most private companies opted out). Dotard had assured them Congress would eventually forgo collecting them, but that never happened. Current federal employees are having small deductions withheld every month, but federal employees who no longer work for the fed, many who were Dotard appointees, are getting large tax bills. And they blame Biden.

There's nothing you could leave outside of a sign that spells it out... you think this idiot trumpsters could ever figure out anything that has even a shade of nuance?

They're morons.  You'd probably even have to misspell the sign so they could figure it out

Remember this, it's very important.

Seriously, this is the plan.  This will occur if we aren't careful.  They are full speed ahead.

I have been rereading Barton Gellman's article in The Atlantic from the November issue (the one with the big red light on the cover). It's titled "The Election That Could Break America" and yeah, even though he couldn't predict exactly how things would/did go down, go back and read it again because this is kind of laid out in his piece.

Damn scary but it's where we are.

1000000000000% this.  There will be a sizeable part of the R base that will never believe he's dead.  10 years after his death they'll still be floating theories that he's actually still in charge and running things from behind the scenes.

A time traveler visited me recently, and handed me a picture of what Trump looks like 20 years from now.  He definitely lost some weight (maybe cut out the McDs?)

I know people who hadn't been voting up through 2016, or voted sporadically (including a couple for Obama in 2008), who voted for Trump in 2020.  I was able to verify it through voting records.  They gave no shits about voting for Trump in 2016, but he got in office and turned them on.  I don't mean that way, I mean he made them moist.

Also, the Q stuff got going in early 2018.  Don't underestimate that group - plenty of those people were not very involved in politics for one reason or another, but Trump and Q turned them on.

But one former appointee, who said he made a little more than $50,000 working for Trump, said he figured the installment plan was more trouble than it was worth, even if it pinched when he paid his $1,200 bill.

“I ended up just putting it on a credit card.”

Lol.  How typical.

At the point where I don’t give a shit to understand the psychology of trump supporters. Fuck them. Throw his ass in prison for his crimes and let them whine and whine and whine. Who fucking cares. Maybe they can try to run their sorry ass into the prison to try to let him out and get shot. Good.

Oh you see it regularly on here. Did you think Russia had some involvement in our politics in the past few years? Oh, well then whatever you say is completely invalid. (although Russia was involved and there is evidence of some sort of pee tape, but who really gives a shit? It was a funny side story)

Ayep. Still flummoxes me, though.

And I still wonder if that crowd actively ignores the implications of overturning elections, or whether they embrace autocracy consciously. I haven’t read anyone say they seek an end to a democratic Republic; then again, there are no vocal Q-types to be found here, either.

This is what we’ve been saying, dude.

enough of us have not IMO. we still see "imagine if Obama..." which is an attempt to throw logic into the dumb grinder. not only that - it empowers them. then we have a choice on our hands - our addiction to the outrage or doing what is right and not engaging like that. sadly we pick the former too many times on this board IMO.

I remain ledge adjacent. Our military and justice remain tethered to democracy - with risks. Happy Memorial Day to you and yours.

I'd like to hear how exactly he thinks that will happen. "Matt Gaetz, MTG, and Michael Flynn will hold a press conference, in which they announce that I have been reinstated. At which time Biden will begin packing up and will head to Delaware."

I don't think that they would be talking about a coup like this of they didn't think that they have a faction in the military willing to A) neutralize a reaction from the rest of the military, and B) assault the White House and Capitol to arrest or, more likely, kill their opposition.  I hope that I'm wrong, and that they are just squawking out of their asses for the grift.

I think they will have all these states that they are recertifying the election in, come out and say it was a landslide victory for Trump. I cannot fathom that anything substantive will actually happen but it will be a disrupting force moving forward as 30% of the population who believes anything Trump says now has the "evidence" to prove the election was stolen. That is when the fun begins.

I agree. It just wouldn't be like Trump at all to squawk loudly about the things that are going to happen without having done of ounce of prep. work.

Did he say that this would happen in "two weeks?"   Because that's about the same time the beautiful medical insurance plan is going to be released.

lulz at discussing trump’s health.

being alive is really low on the trump voter priority list.

Shit, I’d put it at >50% if he’s dead.

1. hold rallies and tell your people that it's happening.

2. when it doesn't happen, tell your people that it is in the process of happening, but it's a unique and expensive legal procedure.

3. do i really need to type out #3?

right, well that part was implied.  the legal attack would be mounted against the corrupt socialist deep state democrat party hellbent on turning this country brown.

What’s that? People aren’t talking about me anymore? Oh well let’s do something to change that.
