Wouldn't it seriously be fitting if Tom Arnold was the one that brought this whole nightmare to an end?

It is hard to keep imagining greater levels of absurdity, day after day after day.  Yet it never fucking fails.

It is. It kind of reminds me of Louie Anderson getting involved with April and Billy, but on a global scale.

He fucked Roseanne, so he probably remains in that state to help him get over those experiences.

They didn't have any children, so there is no proof he fucked her, which would seem to be physically impossible, anyway.

Earlier this week I was trying to find Craig Way covering the horns in Omaha (Poke here but I always root on Texas), and was scanning AM channels to listen in the car while getting my kids. It was horribly depressing...

Every third station was some white guy with an angry voice railing against obama, Hillary Clinton, ‘the left’, mainstream media, the border, immigrants, George Soros (I still don’t really know who that guy is), Mueller, trade imbalance, MS-13, Democrats, fake news, ‘the elite’, taxes, the Wall, liberal celebrities, CNN, etc.

I spent 30 minutes total in the car and got all that before I finally found the game...which Texas was losing, so I got a double dose of depression simply trying to find a baseball game on the radio.

Yep.  Idiocracy no longer looks like a poignant prophecy so much as an optimistic vision for the near future.

Somehow, this sounds like some kind of formulaic sitcom or buddy-cop movie:

http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/393598-tom-arnold-cohen-and-i-are-teaming-up-to-take-trump-down

Quote

Comedian Tom Arnold said Friday that he and President Trump’s former longtime personal lawyer are teaming up to “take down” the president.

Arnold tweeted a photo with Michael Cohen on Thursday with the caption "I Love New York," which Cohen retweeted without comment.

Arnold then told NBC News that he met with Cohen as part of a show he is working on for Vice, in which he searches for incriminating videos of the president.

"This dude has all the tapes — this dude has everything,” Arnold told NBC News. "I say to Michael, 'Guess what? We’re taking Trump down together,’ and he’s so tired he’s like, 'OK,' and his wife is like, 'OK, f--- Trump.’”

The idea for the Vice program followed the leak of the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape during the 2016 presidential race, in which Trump can be heard bragging about grabbing women “by the p----.” The show will feature Arnold’s hunt for other unflattering video and audio recordings of the president.

"We’ve been on the other side of the table and now we’re on the same side," Arnold told NBC News. "It’s on! I hope [Trump] sees the picture of me and Michael Cohen and it haunts his dreams.”

Arnold declined to reveal to NBC News if Cohen was planning to give him any material for “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes.”

I drove to New Hampshire and back in May. I love a road trip, and one of the things I like is tuning into local radio in the hinterlands. I experienced the same tone and positions you did only with the local yokel spin. Lots of religious programming.

Trump is defending religious freedom.

God isn't happy with us. We elected a Muslim president who allowed thousands of abortions all over everywhere.

Trump is a good man who has made mistakes. He has come to God.

Shockingly consistent through the south and West Virginia. The most fun radio is local call in shows in tiny communities where people are selling a truck or trying to guess what California had 50,000 of in 1975 but has none of them now.

"Pay phones?" "No, sir, they still have those, I think."

"Cactus?" "Cactus? I think there are still plenty of those out there."

"How about phone booths?" No, mam, I think somebody already said pay phones and that's not it. Thanks for calling."

"Trains?" "That's a good guess, but it's not the answer. I imagine they still have trains runnin' freight and stuff even if there aren't passengers."

"Pay phones?" "A lot of people are saying pay phones. It's a good guess, but it's not what we're looking for."

"I was out there with my sister a long time ago and you had to put a coin in the slot sometimes to use the bathroom." "That's it! You're the winner today. Pay toilets. They used to be everywhere, but now they're all gone. We got two free dinners at McHugh's Eatery down on Central for you." "I went there with my husband last week." "It's good, ain't it?" "We love it. Thanks so much."

Tom certainly has a history of being a publicity whore, so I need to take everything he is saying with a huge grain of salt, but...yeah, those are some interesting claims.

Ironically though, they are firmly convinced that the mainstream media is lying to them and Fox/Breitbart/Daily Caller are the only sources of truth.

The segmentation of viewers and media sources are allowing people to find their echo chamber.  Conspiracy theorists can find their media channels that will tell them exactly what they want to hear so they return tomorrow, or never leave.    Far left liberals have their sources.  Racists have their's.    etc. etc. etc.

Very few people want to hear a wide range of news and opinions to make up their minds.   Many say they do but few actually have the time to sort through the material.  And since MSM (which includes Fox News) only have opinion shows with paid spokesman for both sides, there isn't any real discussion.

If he’s hanging out with Cohen and Felix....that’s certainly more than the MSM has pulled off.

The President fucking pornstars, Dennis Rodman gets NK to get rid of their nukes, a Kardashian negotiating pardons, and Tom Arnold taking down a President.

No way this movie scores higher than 4% on Rotten Tomatoes

Explosions will get the ratings up and make up for the shitty dialogue and poor story structure.

The sad part is there will probably be dozens of films done on aspects of this presidency

One of the reasons I appreciate NPR. No commercials and they tend to err on the side of too much even handed reporting.

However, if I am in my truck and listening all day , the stories start to repeat themselves and it can get pretty bland.  I guess that's why there are all of the opinion shows.

Just the pornstar angle should get it to at least 12%

The Tom Arnold interview on CNN is one of the greatest things that I've ever seen.

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/tom-arnolds-cnn-interview-is-a-mind-boggling-trainwreck-i-am-not-f-ing-around/

I haven't cringed this bad in a long time. It doesn't sound like a single molecule of air traveled through his nasal passages once during the whole interview.

Judge to Michael Cohen: Only Eight Communications Are Protected by Attorney-Client Privilege

Manhattan Federal Court Judge Kimba Wood issued an order on Friday determining that only eight items of communication, out of some 292,226 seized by the FBI from Michael Cohen’s office and home, were protected by attorney-client privilege. Last week, Barbara Jones, a retired federal judge who was appointed as the special master to oversee the documents, determined that only 162 items were privileged. Only eight of those, according to Wood, involved direct consultation between Cohen and one of his clients. Cohen, a longtime attorney and friend of President Trump’s, is being investigated for possible wire fraud, bank fraud and potential violations of campaign finance law.

That’s a false headline. 162 we’re privileged, doesn’t say what privilege. The AC privilege can attach even to docs that aren’t direct communications between attorney and client. Still...even 162 is an insanely small amount of docs to be privileged for a supposed “attorney.”
