I have actually played cricket recreationally on some of my visits to Australia.  The hardest part for me was to remember to take the bat with you after you hit the ball and took off running to the other end.   You can actually stretch out with the bat to get it across the line before your body does to be "safe".

I was in India for 2 weeks years ago.  My nightly entertainment was watching IPL each night.  I became pretty versed on how the scoring and other intricacies of *that* brand of cricket worked towards the end of my stay.

You played Rounders. The first thing you have to get in your head about the real Game is that there is no such thing as a "foul ball". The second thing is that if the bowler (you probably would still call him the pitcher) hits you with the ball, you're Out.

It's also a whole lot more fun to play than it is to watch, so there's that...

I had the opportunity to play baseball in college. My thoughts were similar to yours about my skills translating to cricket. While I did surprise the Aussies with hitting the ball it was a challenge because your stance and swing is different than baseball and you are hitting the ball coming off of a bounce.

The real challenge was trying to bowl. You are not supposed to bend your elbow when you bowl the ball. Growing up playing baseball and pitching some, bending the elbow becomes a natural habit.  It was a very awkward approach.

Fuckers.  No wonder we kicked their asses.

I would like to see Mike Tyson play cricket.  The match would last 38 seconds and Tyson would crush it.

Maybe I've asked this before but I saw it again today. Driving around and a couple of cars were missing the gas cap cover on their cars. I'm not talking about missing the cap you unscrew before you can put gas in your car. I'm talking about the piece of metal that goes over the door to the gas cap compartment. Some cars have just a door that you either click open by pushing in or you can to press a button to release the door when you want to put gas in the car.

Was it stolen off the car? Was it a secure lock door that was malfunctioning and the only way to get it off was to rip the outer covering off and pry the door open? The frame was there but no cover so you have this weird piece of gray metal framing against a different color of the car. This was on a couple of cars I've seen today and others over the past week. Is there a rash of gas thievery going on where hoodlums are ripping these covers off? Is this the new catalytic converter theft ring?

Depends on how much money he was being paid to take a dive.

baby on board signs/stickers on cars.  I see a TON of them.  Is this to let carjackers know there is a potential extra complication to their crime?  Wtf? No one is changing their driving at all due to this.

It’s to brag about the sex.

I see more of those.  But I see even MORE of the "BE PATIENT - STUDENT DRIVER" stickers.  On cars that are obviously being driven by a fully licensed adult driver.  I think they're just bumper stickers that really mean "I'm a shitty driver, so I needed something on my car that makes it look like I have a reason to be a shitty driver."

You should drive around the Frisco and Plano area to see everyone, and I mean everyone, with a bright yellow "student driver" sticker on their car.

It's nuts. and a lot of the time it's like 30 year old Indians. Which makes me think they've shared some sort of "life hack" on their whatsapp groups "they won't be so mad at our horrible driving if we have these stickers" someone accidentally figured out when driving their 16 year old's Toyota Corolla.

Another flavor of this, really. Brisket beat me to it.

I've gradually becoming a really shitty driver.

It's not the stickers on your car that defines you. It's what you do that defines you.

I suspect that this is probably a regional thing and/or just a coincidence (availability heuristic in action, perhaps?), but in my experience, in the Chicago area, this sticker seems to be found almost exclusively on vehicles driven by Asian people.

Nobody else seems to be buying this sticker.

It is your civic duty to tailgate them, brake check them, drift into their lane, weave in front of them, and otherwise enhance and accelerate their learning curve.

With a kid that just passed his driver's test, i get the student driver thing.  It works as I cut some slack when I see those.   I just don't get the baby on board.  As pointed out above sex trophy makes the most sense

I live in a very small town and our well-liked football coach is also the driver’s ed teacher. We fuck with that car every time we see it driving around town. Gotta teach them kids to stay alert.

To be fair, the Student Driver sticker is also a sex trophy but with more retrospection.

If we only had a Neg cannon that mounted on our bumpers. We could mark those drivers! Most negs get their license revoked!

I always wanted a device that you could aim at a car and set off their airbags.

Being in S. Florida with the crazy aggressive drivers, I totally get having a student driver sticker on the car for the kiddos.  I mean they don't even know how to pack a mag and eat their MickeyDs at the same time.  When I see one of those stickers I do cut them some slack.

<RANT> Those mofos sitting at a green light staring at their phone can EABODs!  They get the horn instantly, and not the polite beep beep horn either. </RANT>

I installed an aftermarket train horn on my car when I lived in Miami.

It eventually blew out during extended use when some dipshit was trying merge into me before a bridge crossing while he attempted to pass everyone on the shoulder.
