Interesting that you needed to clarify.

The correction isn't helping me understand what is going on here.

It was James Ho, some Texas federalists, and it was a circle jerk.

It’s a relief to hear that there weren’t any of those lib perverts present.

First thing I thought of. I knew I would be too late to post.

I’m still unclear about whether his fantasy involved his being anally raped by the asteroid or someone else.

Are we talking about an asteroid falling from space? In this case, would the victim be pointing their ass towards the sky or does the asteroid bounce of the ground and then into the victim's anus? Either way,

This choad is so worthless. His continued re-election to office pains me more than any other elected official in Texas.

And the fact he pointed that at Jeremy Wallace, guy is a legit reporter and generally just a dork/nice guy.

"What a stupid question!  Everyone knows that marihuana makes white women listen to jazz music and be seduced by negroes!  You heard the story of Mildred Johnson!  One puff of reefer, and she left her family to cavort with a black saxophonist!  And no, don't ask me any stupid question about how many Texans die each year from alcohol poisoning or accidents while drunk. We're here to focus on the real threats: negro men and jazz!"

The context and length of time over which you discuss forcible asteroid sodomy is a very important detail. Pay attention, man.

Well, yeah ... because, I mean, who among us HASN'T fantasized over dinner about watching an asteroid sodomizing our boss? But you think about that for a longer period of time than that? Well that's just sick.

Guys, I gotta be honest, I once partook of the devil’s lettuce. Only now through angry Rosie Odonnel do I realize just how closely I danced with death. That could’ve been me walking in front of a train. Texans should celebrate how their fierce defenders of liberty are making them safer by clearing the shelves of these Canadian fentanyl laced assassin candies smuggled in by Mexican fentanyl mules. I think they should replace all of those godless vape shops with bible shops so other folks can learn to walk an enlightened path like our leaders. Well I guess wheels doesn’t walk the path, he rolls the path, and that’s cool too.

The R politician’s new playbook: you’re an idiot for even asking this question.

Reporters need to follow up better: my job is to ask you the hard questions about the laws you are pushing through as THE PEOPLE’S GOVERNMENT.   Your job is to answer these hard questions.  Calling the question dumb is a tell that you can’t defend the law you passed.

The playbook also is to reply to the reporter something like, you must be from cnn.

when a politican fails to answer these simple question especially about laws they want to pass, every reporter should ask why Patrick (or abbot) is refusing is newer a question.

Despite how dark this board is, I still think there’s an incredible misjudging of just how fucked this state is by many posters. Another entry for that… Paxton has a 9 pt lead on cornyn for senate primary.

and talarico chances for winning statewide office is about 0.1%. Seems like a great guy and has his stuff together, but .1%

Man, I've told at least a dozen people that the Senate primary won't even be close, Paxton will blow him outta the water, and they're shocked to hear it.  Fucking duh.  Seriously, the vast majority of people are paying ZERO attention.

Talarico legitimately has the Presidential "it" factor, but only if he leaves this god forsaken state.

Agree.  Texans will show up in droves to vote for the cock-eyed mistress fucker.  The airwaves will be non-stop commercials about Cornyn spearheading that law that took their guns away (ignoring the fact that they have not, in fact, lost one single part of their vast armory).

"Cornyn is woke.  He marched with George Floyd to burn down your neighborhood!  John Cornyn taught his kids how to have gay DEI marxist CRT sex, and wants to require your kids to learn it too!  John Cornyn wants trans people to touch your daughters' hoo-ha in the bathroom!"

Paxton wins by 10.

I am on the board of a local water district. The county keeps asking for us to buy Flock cameras for our neighborhood so they can get hits of stolen cars and what not. It has been a hard no from me for a few years. Myself and another couple members have been able to head it off. Fuck that shit.

If you're not doing anything wrong (as defined by others) you shouldn't mind constant surveillance.

We're doing it for your safety and the safety of children! Why are you so opposed to children safety?

I've been watching the star wars show, Andor this past week. When they are highlighting the news agencies or politics, it's so apparent which political party is the Empire. Of course, I imagine there is a TexAgs post saying this opposite.

(Bad etiquette for a second response to a post. delete post, ban user)

With cameras becoming cheaper and cheaper, and honesty automated drones becoming cheaper and cheaper, intense surveillance will become more common. AI could control the surveillance system, interpret the photos/video and then alert the appropriate folks (police, security or neighborhood watch) when needed. Eventually it will alert SkyNet or Robocop to detain the teenagers hanging out on the dead end street.

I know some lobbyists in Austin who work on both sides of the aisle, and despite everything they are still clinging to the fantasy that it’s business as usual. A couple days ago I mentioned to one in passing that Paxton was doing to beat Cornyn by 8-10 and they looked genuinely shocked that I thought that, like I had gone off the deep end with the crazies. The last time they looked that shocked was when I said Donald Trump would run away with the 2016 nomination.

I truly don't understand how "political insiders" don't see the obvious here.  Seriously, it's as predictable as aggy shitting the bed.  Hell, MORE predictable.

I’m obviously not an insider, but based on what I see, it seems similar to our population level approach to global warming: there’s this pervasive sense that things are comprehensively fucked, but it’s so pervasive that we’re still surprised when a specific terrible things happen.
