Not sure if serious. AI writes like a god damn five year old that got hold of a tech dictionary.

I was just ragging on the representative. I've seen AI that writes pretty well, but that wasn't my point, amigo.

The template is always on standby.

 1. What type of gun?
 2. Where was it purchased?
 3. Roll call of the dead with family pix.
 4. Discussion about gun control.
 5. Impact on political races.
 6. Same images of weepers hugging in the foreground of the murder scene.

7.  Makeshift memorial with flowers, candles, hand-scrawled messages and pictures of the victims.

When to we get the tedious debate about whether to do take purely symbolic action about guns or to do nothing at all about mental illness? I’m worried if it doesn’t start soon we’ll start talking about the intersection of isolation, despair, inequality and violence, which we must never do because #thisisamerica.

It'd probably take a bodycount in the range of the Vegas massacre to get guns back on the front page.

I attended a men’s meeting at church this morning during which a staff member gave a report on the active shooter training held at the church earlier in the week. At the training, one of the pastors noticed an unknown person sitting in the back of the sanctuary, underneath the balcony in what was believed to be an attempt not to draw attention to himself. When the executive pastor approached  him and asked if she could be of assistance, he said he was there just to observe what was going on. She alerted on site security who observed the man taking pictures of entry/exit points in two of the main hallways leading to the sanctuary. Security followed him as he hurried to the parking lot, jumped into his car and “sped” off.

Senator Warnock is scheduled to preach the Men’s Day observance a week from Sunday. We’re not sure what to make of this, but I’m certain there will be security to back up the senator’s detail. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t somewhat concerned.

I'd be turning any photos of that dude over to police, pronto.

I crack myself up.

We have him on video. Problem is he may not be the one attending service on this or any other Sunday. We’re used to dealing with threats and crank callers. This latest event makes it more real.

Yeah I might be setting up legit security for that shit.

Good excuse to sleep in and skip church. Also, WTF is Men’s Day? Do they bring in strippers and booze for the celebration?

The head of security is a former US Marshall . There are at least 6-7 uniformed DPD officers in and around the sanctuary and any number of licensed carriers and plain clothed sitting in the sanctuary.

Earlier this year, we hosted UMC missionaries from Tanzania. I picked then up from the hotel, brought them to church and to the reception area. When they saw the uniformed police officers patrolling the area, one man leaned over to me and with a concerned look on his face asked, “are we in danger?”  I resisted the temptation to say, hell yeah. You’re in America.

I was working that event and left apparently 20 minutes before the shooting started. As I was driving home with ambulances passing me, I figured there was a shooting or vehicular murder of some sort. So horrible, so pointless.

Well that sucks.  I was at the adjacent soccer complex when a child was hit and killed in the Old Settler's parking lot.  Seeing those first responders hauling ass up towards the park was unnerving to say the least.

Madonna isn't gong to take this well.

She's by far the most famous person from there.  She's gonna be distraught and likely give some public comments.  And rightfully so.  She hasn't been terribly outspoken on political issues the last couple decades, but I suspect that may change soon.  So thanks for the neg rep and complete lack of awareness of things larger than yourself.

The irony of this statement coming from the most self important poster on this board is rich.

Only time I worry about you is when you quit bitchin', sweetheart.  ;)  (and you're not giving Rex Kramer enough credit on who is the most self-important poster)

Levity aside, I am genuinely curious if she'll weigh in on this.  She was very vocal for decades and the kinda got oddly silent on current events.  But then, we've seen the futility surrounding famous people, political or artistic or otherwise, speaking out against gun violence.  Shit, if McConaughey from Uvalde from the White House press room can't call attention to this shit...what hope do we have?  I doubt the Michigan State House does anything since they let assault-rifle open carry goons into the Capitol to complain about not being able to go to Chili's.

And then we need to flesh out the bump stock ruling by SCOTUS.  We actually had a relatively quiet few months for America, in terms of mass shootings.  We're just fucking due.  Probably here in Texas as well.

I’ll tell you this much.  The ‘guns’ on the female lifeguards at the westenfield pool where my daughters are taking swim lessons this summer are more than adequate.  Like a college version of bay watch meets Navarone over there.

What are we talking about again?

Well, that just adds a little more suck to the situation.  I'm sorry to hear of your connection, tchookem.
I'm loosely connected at best. But yesterday still had some pretty shitty moments, and now I'm just thinking about a great kid (she's not really a kid anymore) that lost her mom before she could become a grandma.

One day, one of us is going to be directly connected (maybe someone already is and hasn't chosen to share). I hope it never happens, but I'm starting to think it's inevitable.

Nope.  We needed MORE guns.  377 armed officers....THAT would have done it.  I mean, a piddly number like 376?  Fuck, that's practically one of your libtard "GUN FREE ZONES."  The only answer is more guns. It is always the answer.  No matter what the question, it's the answer.

What is Pi to the 20th digit?  "MORE GUNS."

Would you like fries with that?  "MORE GUNS."

Who was the primary author of the Gospel of Matthew?  "MORE GUNS."

What is the correct ignition timing for a 1964 Chevrolet Bel Air with a 327 cubic inch engine and a four-barrel carburetor? "MORE GUNS."

You had a suspicious character scoping out the place during an active shooter training session?  That takes the realism up a few notches.
