A lot of discussion about CW and his speech patterns being hip hop culture and fearing magic.

Read all that, then imagine that he's white.

I just went back and rewatched this. A white kid from Cypress who went to Bridgeland - a very rich area - talking "urban" like that is hilarious. He's like a trope douche bag jock bully from an early 2000s teen movie.

lol. There’s no very rich area in Cypress. If they were very rich, they sure as fuck wouldn’t be living in Cypress. It’s just NW Katy

Yes, big red flag.  Weigman lives in an upper middle class suburb of Houston but he comes off with ghetto speech patterns.  Weird stuff.  The fake ghetto speech plus kind of weird vibe with that magic trick makes me think this kid has major behavioral health issues.

You could've just said "he aggy."

I mean what effect would a year of no playing time in a late stage jimbo locker room do to any of us?

I gotta admit I’m a bit checked out on sports other than Texas football and I don’t care enough about aggy to hate watch their games.
I turned on the game last night late in the 2nd half to a 13-13 tie and thought “man, they are hanging in!  Even if they lose, they’re gonna twist this into a moral victory.”

I was wrong.

That CW stat line……. Ooofffff!

Is the bloom off the rose for “The Elk” and CW already?

Black guys hate magic tricks?  No shit, who doesn't?  Next you're gonna tell me they all like fried chicken too...duh motherfucker!  Again who doesn't?

Seriously I didn't know black duds like CW didn't like magic but I will say when watching that Oz Gameday segment the first thought that popped into my head was that he looked like a GameStop employee who smoked a ton of weed.

Texas A&M football fans across the country have really been taking this loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish pretty hard. When you consider this was a game where you were tied with a top-10 team late in the fourth quarter, there's certainly been a disproportionate amount of angst out there.

That probably reflects, at least in part, the frustration of being just that close to taking home a huge, narrative-flipping win in game one of the Mike Elko era, but sometimes progression isn't linear. More likely, it reflects the consternation at certain pieces of this Aggie team not performing in the way that A&M fans expected.

That frustration, though, has led to some... interesting opinions. Here are the five worst takes out there after the Aggies suffered this recent loss.

5 worst takes after Texas A&M football's loss to ND: Weigman is washed
True, Conner did not exactly cover himself in glory in this game. Much less than that, he had maybe his worst performance of his career in the maroon and white.

That is true enough. However, the fans saying that he has simply lost it and is irrevocably cooked are—and stay with me here—maybe getting ahead of themselves just a tad.

We should probably wait until we see him against, I don't know, not the best defensive backfield in the country to render judgment. The quality of the defensive unit he was facing doesn't explain everything, of course, but we can't cut bait after one game.

I think the version of this that made me laugh the most was the very earnest people saying that the mentalist featured on College Gameday freaked him out, leading to an off night. I really don't think that he was wondering how the playing card got in his shoe when he was throwing those interceptions, guys.

5 worst takes after Texas A&M football's loss to ND: Klein's offense is more of the same
Chiefly because of the poor play by the quarterback, the Aggies had a tough time moving the ball for a lot of the night. When Weigman was on target, you could see things moving a lot better, but when he was lost out there, the offense looked like it was just spinning its wheels.

After three years of frustratingly watching an offense simply spin its wheels game after game after game, this apparently really set off some Aggie fans. The most ridiculous form of this was those claiming that Klein's offense was just more of the same from what we were getting from Jimbo.

This is simply not true. The things that so many Aggie fans were clamoring for in the days of Fisher—mainly, extensive use of presnap motion—were all there in Klein's scheme last night.

Of course, when you can't really pass the ball worth anything, it's hard to move the ball at all. Klein did his best and schemed up some great runs, but it was the inability to pass that hamstrung the offense more than schematic issues. Again, let's wait to see what the scheme looks like against other opponents before rendering this kind of judgment.

5 worst takes after Texas A&M football's loss to ND: The defensive line is just average
Texas A&M football exited the night without a sack. I went on record predicting them to notch three or more, so I obviously didn't exactly expect this result, but as I wrote multiple times this week, it seemed possible, if Denbrock schemed the game up a certain way, that the ability to record any sacks would be greatly diminished.

The one time the Aggies got home, in one of the rare instances that Leonard held the ball for a while, the blitzer was unable to get him to the ground. After that, the Irish went right back to quick passes and runs, not giving the Aggie defensive front a shot to get home.

But take a look at the havoc rate generated by this A&M team. For most of the game, the Ags were bottling up the runs between the tackles, leading to several tackles for loss—even if they weren't getting home on dropbacks, they still affected the game to a high degree.

Could they have produced more? Absolutely. Were they overhyped? In reality, that's yet to be determined, but I feel as good about them after last night as I did going into the game.

5 worst takes after Texas A&M football's loss to ND: A&M has the worst receivers in the conference
The receivers getting separation was definitely an issue in this one. The Aggies came into this game concerned about the receiver position in a vacuum, much less against the best secondary they'll see all year.

However, on rewatch, it's possible some of the issues were a bit overstated. There were actually guys running open at times—but Weigman had trouble finding them often. There were a few drops, but not many.

Again, like I've been saying: this is indeed an area of concern for the Aggies. But it's just too early to know whether this is truly a horrid group of skill talent or whether it's just that the Notre Dame defensive backfield was really that good.

The return of Jabre Barber should help a ton, as will increased utilization of Terry Bussey. As things continue to mesh throughout the season, we can make a fairer judgment—but for now, this is way, way too hasty.

5 worst takes after Texas A&M football's loss to ND: Tommy Moffitt was a dud hire
The Aggies had several players go down with injuries during this game, along the offensive line in particular. Early on, we saw Mark Nabou being attended to by the training staff. He exited, and while Elko said that he would be available to return, we did not see him ever make that return.

Then, Arma'j Reed-Adams went down. He was back in before long, but near the end of the game, Nabou's replacement (Kolinu'u Faaiu) had to be helped off the field.

That, in addition to the fact that there was not a discernible advantage in overall team speed for the Aggies over the Irish, led some to make the hotheaded claim that Tommy Moffitt, the new Aggie strength and conditioning coach, was a dud hire.

Talk about rushing to judgment! We don't know the extent of Nabou's injury, and everyone else looks to be immediately fine.

It's also an unreasonable expectation that the Aggies would simply be way faster than Notre Dame, who also happens to be a team that recruits at an elite level. As with several other things on this list, we need to see more before we can come close to making a judgment like this.

I mean what effect would a year of no playing time in a late stage jimbo locker room do to any of us?

Has Elko offer his wife yet?

I didn't read all that shit but that ridiculous punk suddenly finds himself in the role of A&M fan shrink. Good luck

I did the same. Stuck at a wedding. But it wasn't just the stat line ... it was how utterly and completely lost he looked on every single pass play, and how hopelessly bewildered Elko looked on the sidelines. Wow. Watching Weigman take one read and chunk the ball ob or miles from the receiver - over and over and over was just epic stuff. We got better production from Arch on 6 attempts than aggy got from 30.

Now I kind of want him to transfer to Texas to play baseball.  Just to piss off aggy more.

If I was out with friends and someone did that magic trick to us and my friend reacted like CW did, I would be concerned.  Like...pull his wife aside later and ask if everything was OK kind of concerned.  That was not a normal reaction.

Also, someone remind them that the AD tried to hire Mark Stoops, but it was the fans who protested and forced the reversal of hiring Stoops.  Elko was the consolation prize.  The fans don't get to blame the AD for this one.

Actually kinda makes sense. A significant part of the black culture get really upset about magic tricks. I'm not joking. It's a thing. Much like their common aversion to dogs, even obviously friendly ones. It's weird.

1 - Didn't do a "1st game vs. 1st game" comparison because aggy looked like crap barfing their way through Elko's first game against ND, while Texas won their first game under Sark against #23 Louisiana by 20 points, 38-18.

2 - Didn't use the actual score of the Texas loss to Arkansas, which was 40-21, had to exaggerate it to 49 points to make it seem worse.  Didn't mention the Texas game was AT arky, while their ND meltdown was at home "the toughest place to play in the land."  Also didn't mention that just two weeks later that same arky team beat a supposedly #7 aggy team 20-10.

3 - Didn't recognize that their forum is already on fire, as a direct parallel to the dumpster that is their team.

What did I do to deserve this?

Interesting fact: without parsing for FCS vs FBS opponents, or P5 vs G5, Texas and Texas A&M are each 61-39 over their last 100 games.

(If you do make distinctions for competition, Texas vaults ahead)

Wait a minute. There are actual real life posters on here that think Bridgeland is nice? Lol

Its paved over gulf coast prairie (which houston desperately needs for flood mitigation/control) with tract housing where every 3rd house is the same, and it has “lakes” which are actually giant retention ponds because they paved over all of the prairie.

I mean, its perfect for aggy, but their isnt a single tree or original thought in those  15 square miles. But hey, they have a branch of lonestar community college!

Kyle Field All-time Record as of ND game 2024: 374-170-26, giving them credit for all the games they played against FCS patsies and real teams alike. That makes .679.

[334-156-12 through 2015 (per A&M media guide via Wikipedia), 40-14 since 2015 (per sports-reference.com)]

Our record at DKR is 400-122-10 (per UT Athletics via Wikipedia), or .761. Tell me again about the tougher place to play.
