I don't know if CTJ's little anecdote is true or not but that reaction is going on across the state.  Individuals and institutions are having a full blown come to jesus meeting about their lot in life.  Self awareness and self reflection can be difficult for folks to process.  Harbinger of what's to come for lots of individuals and institutions outside of universities, imo.

And 2:30 kickoffs will be the norm for Texas and Oklahoma starting next year, praise Jesus

I prefer 11am only because a friend of mine lives in south Dallas a couples blocks from the fair and we always walk to the game. Not wanting to walk to back to his place at night. Or it should rotate every year. 11am on odd years, 2:30 on even years.

Came into the office today, usually get in early and it's relatively empty. New chick that just graduated a few months ago from TCU is also here.

Next thing I know, she's fucking spitting fire at me about Texas" "ruining college athletics and I hope you guys lose every game in every sport for the rest of your lives! you couldn't handle losing to us every year so you grabbed your balls and went home!"

"We don't grab balls. You're thinking of the aggies. When they did that last, you fell ass backwards into this dumpster fire of a conference. You just got to take advantage of the worst decade in Texas football history and we still have a record of like 60-20 against your program. You should be thanking Texas for that last glimmer of relevance and figuring out how to help elevate the AAC to an autobid conference after it dismantles the Big 12 and hopefully, for you, grabs TCU in doing so. Regardless, you're welcome, and maybe we'll schedule y'all as a cupcake sometime in the nonconference."

Then she literally screamed at me about "not going to the fucking AAC! the SEC should be inviting us!!"

These people aren't just losing their shit online. They're also coming unhinged in-person. In any event, like TCU, I'm sure she'll be landing on her feet somewhere decent soon anyway.

Don’t let yourself be alone with her ever again.

good god.  okay.  let's do this.
IF YOU ARE A STUDENT, you don't get to have an 0u weekend Friday night the way we all experienced it, because you have to get up THREE HOURS EARLIER for an 11am kickoff
IF YOU ARE DRIVING IN THE DAY OF THE GAME, you have to leave THREE HOURS EARLIER for an 11am kickoff
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT, BRING THE WIFE, MEET UP WITH THE GUYS, WHATEVER.... you don't get to have a Friday night in Dallas because you have to get up THREE HOURS EARLIER
IF YOU WANT TO FLY IN THE MORNING OF THE GAME YOU CAN'T DO IT IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF TOLA
Pro Tip: with a 230 kickoff, THE FAIR IS NOT A MADHOUSE AT 9AM
In addition, and i know this is rocket science, but here goes......  DART MIGHT ACTUALLY BE A VIABLE OPTION IF YOU TRIPLE THE AMOUNT OF TRAINS THAT CAN INGRESS ATTENDEES ON THE DAY OF THE GAME if you kickoff at 230.   Why is that the case? because DART only has so many trains, and can only runs so many trains to Fair Park, and total DART capacity on the day of the game is cut by 70% when you kickoff THREE HOURS EARLIER.
I will cut anyone who continues to bitch about the infallible logic behind these statements of fact.

What are you implying.

I'm down with 2:30 for all the reasons Hagbard listed.  But if it's 11AM.  My ass is at the fair with a beer in hand by 8AM.

I think the ACC is waiting on ND. Once they commit to staying independent I could see them swooping up Kansas and WVU to get to 16.

Meh, they can take WVU now and extend an offer to UConn fb who is now an independent (all sports-fb in the old Big East with Villanova/Georgetown and crew).  That would give them 16 with UConn in fb and 16 with ND in all sports-fb.

That way they project BDE as a 16 school super conference mimicking the SEC and ‘reserve’ a spot for ND fb if they ever agree to join.  Plus I saw some article that stated that they could renegotiate their TV payout which would likely get them more money,

Welcome to armageddon mother fuckers

This right here is why nobody should ever take anything that pinhead says seriously.

He is either A - Too stupid to understand how the world works and what is real --or--  B - So eaten-up with hatred for The University of Texas that he cannot be remotely objective.

Yes, I know, he plays to an audience.  But he also fits in with that audience very well.

Once ESPN owns all the SEC TV rights, I will be curious if they will choose to put the game that they suspect will pull in the most viewers in the 2:30 slot or prime time?  If the latter, I’m sure the 2:30 will get the second best matchup that week.

unless it's UT-0u which can never be played at night

Word.

I certainly prefer the 2:30 kicks.  But if I must adapt and have my waxcup beer and corn dog at 8 AM, then I'll do it.  I'll make that sacrifice.

For Texas, I will.

Well now ESPN has another network to throw lower tier SEC games to, the rebranded LHN now known as the SEC2 Network. Plus ESPN+ is going to get a lot of content, thus driving up subs.

No doubts... But big doubts OU will be happy with that based on their anger over Fox Big Noon game.

No, my point is the SEC2 Network and ESPN+ are going to take most of the undesirable matchups and I bet a lot of ACC content goes over to there, freeing up ESPN to have more SEC content on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and ABC, all at the same time. OU vs. Vandy is probably an SEC Network game but OU vs. any of the helmet teams would be a featured matchup. OU will get a lot of SEC Game of the Week spots when they play other traditional helmet teams like LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia, etc. That's not an 11am matchup. That's either 2:30 or 6pm.

No, it IS an 11 AM matchup, on ABC.

CBS is going away.  Disney is going to own the SEC rights.

And unless they change their policy, on ABC, the national timeslot is 11 AM.  Then they also, sometimes, have a national primetime game, but not every week.

Which is the point I continue making-- OU has only been getting the 11 AM games on ABC and Fox (national), because those are their marquee national time slots, and OU has been the best team in the B12 for the past decade.  It wasn't some conspiracy to screw the sooners.  They were being given the GOOD timeslots, as determined by the network broadcasters.

Obviously some fans don't like it, but that's why it was, the way it was.

TCU vs. LSU better

WVU vs. SEC east opponent usually better but neither is a rivalry

KU/KSU/ISU vs. MU/UM/MSU who cares

Okie St., well not that big a loss.

So can we go back to hating OUsux now or do we still have to act like we like them until the buyout is figured out or, worse, until we actually join the SEC?

we’re gonna smile, put our arms around each other’s neck and make nice while people are watching because that’s how it works.
Then we’re going to try and fuck OUs girlfriend.
