Not to be a wet blanket, but I seriously don’t know anyone opposed to early voting anymore. I imagine it’s only a small number of very old and retired republicans. I think the final results will show that republicans and democrats turned out to early vote at roughly equal rates

I've earlier conceded that part of the turn is absolutely increased participation from Republican voters, that is undeniably true.  The devil is in the details though, the female vote and the non 2020 voter youth bump is real.  I'll have more updated info in the morning after the data dump for today.  Something I haven't done the last week is do a break down on a few rural Republican counties to see if this completely tracks, which I will do in the morning.

I’m so far really looking at total turnout thus far compared to 2020.

2020 was legit such a weird election with Covid and the huge early/mail and election day splits between parties.

We may never see anything like that ever again, or until the next global pandemic in 2121

We are seeing republicans go back to early voting again and democrats going back to Election Day voting. Mail voting down across the board as people actually going in person in a lot of states

A lot of you Austinites have mentioned voting at a Randall’s today.  Where is there room to set up a voting area in a grocery store?  Just curious.

At this one, there’s a little area that has tables and stuff where you can drink your coffee or eat or whatever

True; but he looks like he washed up on the beach a few days ago and is ripe.

Where is Bobby and his chainsaw when you need him?

Who the fuck shops at Randall's? There's tons of room.  Set up where you'd have product, or cashiers or really anywhere except the depends section or metamucil aisle.

First day and last day of early voting are always crowded.

If you don't want to wait in lines, go on Saturday or Sunday of early voting, or late this week or early next week.

Kamala was paged at DCA, and Emhoff was spotted looking at a house on Pennsylvania Ave.

Yeah looking at the Travis County wait time map for voting locations, everything west was red and yellow.  Most stuff east of 35 was green (20 minutes or less)

"The average American will definitely respond favorably to a highly choreographed photo-op at McDonald's" seems like an theory dreamt up by someone who hasn't interacted with an average American in a very long time.

I think my son was about 9 when he stopped wanting to go to McDonalds. Maybe 10, I dunno. Anyway, too bad 8 year-olds can't vote, they'd love that McD Trump photo op.

My brother lives in Mukilteo. He sends his home state brosef this kind of text every election cycle just to remind me what I’m missing.

Moved to WA earlier this year and primary voting was a revelation. It's so nice to be able to sit down and fill out your ballot as you research, and to be able to stop and come back. Our ballots came in the mail over the weekend while we were at the UGA game. I'll probably fill it out over commercials while watching football.

Bleach Blonde Butch Built Marge Greene said the exact same thing about Georgia the other day.  The plan is being executed.  MAGA knows they are losing so they're starting early on the "this is rigged" playbook.

Maybe they can convince the VP not to certify.

This segment is a masterpiece of journalism. If you've never watched it, you should. Totally worth it.

Just back from voting at Gus Garcia Rec Center on Rundberg. Wait time was about 30 minutes. About the least Trumpy looking group of people I've ever seen.

Mentioned this before- my FIL worked at ODOT when this happened (they were responsible for the attempted detonation/disposal); guy who it was assigned to essentially ended up drawing the job because everyone else heard what was coming and avoided the office that morning.

Harris should lay out her plan on how she’s going to make sure dotard goes to prison.

Harris should lay out her views on Arnold Palmer's dick size, because apparently it's a big enough issue that Trump felt the need to start a rally off by talking about it.

And everybody here really should be asking their MAGA relatives why Trump is thinking about the dick of a guy who has been dead for almost a decade.

he’s not talking about anything relevant to american voters. he never does. that’s the genius of his rallies and why he’ll probably keep doing them straight through the election.
