Setting aside all the bad shit this bill will do to the poor and middle class, has anyone seen any attempt by the Rs to justify the tax cuts for the rich or explain why it's necessary right now? From what I've seen they don't even bother to explain or justify that. Has any journalist pressed any of these fuckers why that's a priority? It's surreal to me that they get away with not even having to convince anyone that their evil plans are good. Our entire system is broken.

Duh. It'll grow the economy like you've never seen before and pay for itself.

Because Americans overwhelmingly voted for this last election.

They've bought or threatened journalists.  Anybody that practices real journalism isn't going to be allowed anywhere close to an elected official to ask tough questions.

Don’t school teachers pay into the TRF and don’t pay social security and are the red fire ineligible for benefits?

i have no idea about any of this. she’s worked at a private/parochial school for 45 years and has been paying social security the entire time.

i once ruptured my ear drum and didn’t go to the doctor because i didn’t have insurance. i only went about a week later, after i started bleeding out of my ear. i’m now unable to hear people sitting 15 feet to the left of me in my own living room.

i really can’t wait to lose my insurance and live like that again. that’s definitely what’s best for everyone. just a bunch of sick, uneducated people who can’t afford to feed and clothe themselves, or to get medical help when they need it. just a dynamite way to make america treat again. 👌🏼

Most districts opted out of social security a long time ago when they had the chance. Some districts, including Austin ISD, did not opt out and they do pay into SS and receive benefits.

They do ask, the response is to lie and say it’s not true and that middle class is gonna bet big ole tax cuts too. They’re also lying and saying it doesn’t increase the deficit because only democrat bills do that. Plus I saw that a trans girl won a medal somewhere last week and that’s way more important.

So confused, doge’s whole point was to reduce spending right?  Then his new bill will increase spending and add trillions in debt.  So am I missing something or does this just not make logical sense?

It’s almost like that wasn’t the actual goal all along.

If there is a stated goal of the GQP that would even tangentially help Americans….that goal is a lie.
If the goal is to hurt people, they’re telling. The truth.
Those are the two rules of interpreting GQP positions/platforms.
If it would help, they’re lying. If it would hurt, they’re telling the truth.
Oh, and the true motive is always some combo of cruelty, grift, and gifts/fealty to billionaires.

DOGE was supposed to find a few trillion in waste, which would be offset with whatever was in this bill.

That didn't happen, obviously.

Of course, the real reason for DOGE, from Elon's perspective, was data mining to the nth degree.  And reward himself with lucrative government contracts.

I posted basically these two points verbatim in the "Elon is a racist cocksucker" thread on DT.

This is exactly what happened. He accomplished his goals.

I tell my wife to spend less so I can buy expensive bourbon and my son can run my car into the curb and I can buy new wheels.

It doesn't work, but it has a whole point.

May be an image of 2 people and text that says 'DC_Draino @DC_Draino I will no longer be referring to June as 'Pride Month' If our Veterans don't have an entire month to honor their service & sacrifices, then nobody should get one It's just June #MakeJuneJuneAgain No No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen @NoLieWithBTC May is National Military Appreciation Month, and the fact that MAGA doesn't know that shows how little of a shit they actually give about veterans.'

Honesty, do we really need month long celebrations for anything? I don't care if groups want to hold celebrations or awareness campaigns for themselves or their cause, but come on. I would bet that every month has many causes that claim it as their own, not to mention that every single day has 10 national _____ day proclamations.

I also doubt that dc_drano ever referred to June as Pride Month. Everyone refers to June as June.

There's no doubt that every cabinet official and agency lead have told their staff to never release numbers that are bad for Trump. Unless they want to lose their job.

I mean is it a celebration or just acknowledgement?

I kind of get the sentiment but also think back to the origin of having some of these days/months and what it meant for the people.

It’s not like I fly my AAPI flag when it’s May but it still feels nice to know there’s some recognition or highlight of the community

Also I think you’re underestimating how easy it would be for those in power to erase people’s history.

my sentiment wasn't that people shouldn't celebrate or acknowledge whatever they want. I'm supportive of they should do what they want, whenever they want. Go for it. However it's turned into you're taking a month, then I'm taking one as well. And so on.

And I think that white Americans, especially conservatives are complete snowflakes they get riled up by all of it.
