Because he's in the SEC and that's what they do. It's a better conference than the Big 12, he knows it, and they like the chest thump.

Big deal.

Just thought this needed reposting after Texas shoved UGA around in the Sugar Bowl and the Big12 finished 3-1 against SEC in bowls. Got anymore dumbass sentiments about SEC superiority?

James Street did pretty well...

1. Vince

2. Colt

3. Layne

4. Street

5. Simms / Applewhite

6. Brown

Sams got a pretty chance of securing a place on the Mount Rushmore of Texas QB before he’s done.

It's hard to explain just how valuable Sam is to this team.  Tonight he was 7 of 9 on 3rd down passing for 59 yards, 5 1st downs and 1 sack.  With his feet he converted another 4 first downs, had 41 yards and a TD on 3rd down.

Then there's the toughness and leadership.  When he runs over defenders or converts 3rd downs with his feet, it's like watching a thundering slam dunk or a steal and breakaway layup in basketball.

Not sure it’s hard to explain at all really. But maybe you were just being tongue in cheek. It’s almost completely anecdotal. Look at Texas teams QB’d by Vince and Colt for a simple explanation of what happens when a team believes in their QB. When a play needs to be made, you turn to your guy, and when that guy comes through it reverberates. We just haven’t had a leader like this in so long. But the swag is back

very relevant, as Sam needs to be protected from injury risk

His point was that Herman hasn't 'protected' his QB in any offense he's ever run.  The QB is going to be part of the running game and is asked/expected to be tough and play physical like the rest of the team.

But it doesn't mean he needs to play reckless - that slide in the 4th quarter where he made the decision to not try and dive for the first down (and continue to run clock) is a good example of Sam playing smart in this offense and taking care of himself.

and that needs to change to protect Sam, who can still pick his spots to run, but reduce it by 70%

Looking back at why this thread started...

Sam has shut the fuck out of EVERY SINGLE ONE of us.  That speaks volumes about this kid.

HOOK 'EM SAM

Sorry, not every one of us needed to be shut up. Some of us believed in Sam since the beginning.

Very mature, heads up play rushing the team to the line of scrimmage when Georgia was trying to sub out defensive linemen forcing them to use a timeout. If they don’t take the TO, we get the first down on the penalty. That’s the stuff Aaron Rodgers does all the time that pisses me off when he does it to my team.

when he takes off, i have the same confidence that I had with VY to make the needed yards.  Sam's cutting ability, for a guy his size, is pretty amazing.

This right here. For a big bruising running QB, he’s consistently slippery.  He made the Georgia defenders his bitch on some of those runs.
