A quick word about the cops.

The majority, if not all of the "official" protests organized by Indivisible/50-50-1 were planned in conjunction with local police. The cops will be there and that should surprise nobody. This was confirmed to me by our local Indivisible chapter. They won't need to enforce anything unless outside agitators show up. National guard and the jarheads are another matter, but they are too few to be anywhere other than the big downtowns.

Go home when the event officially ends, and we have a responsibility to police our own side. If we get the turnout I'm expecting, and we keep things civil, we will win over a lot of folks on the sidelines.

Take a page from 1969 and try to dress up a bit. Leave the black hoodies at home. I'll be tucking my polo shirt into my shorts. You'd think I'm a (tanned) English tourist.

I would suggest a face mask and long sleeves shirt. Try to keep face scanning technology from identifying you there. The fascists are looking for ways to quickly target dissenters if they gain more control and the crackdown really starts. Your company could be "instructed" to fire you by the government down the line just for being involved if you're identified.

Well these are quite the juxtaposition back to back.

cover your face and a generic cap, blue or black

wouldn't put it past abbott's office to scan faces and see what they can dig up

If you'd asked the sheriff before it happened, he would have talked just as tough. Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.

To get punched in the face, you have to enter the ring, they just stood outside cosplaying as humans.

Calling trump a name will evoke a mental defense mechanism in the dotardians.

The above message links trump to a king and tyranny.

It’s readable and easy to remember.

it’s chant-able.

I may be wrong but I’ve always believed that things in sets of three are natural for the brain.

I’d replace “tyranny” with “tyrant.”

Do not forget there will always be people there who want a riot to happen or will cause one just so they can loot stores and vehicles during the confusion.

I think Austin’s will be fairly chill. But will be on the lookout for any instigators and ready to tell them to chill the fuck out or just get away from their orbit.

"Excuse me, sir.  Where's the nearest Esso station?"
I don't really recommend that, though.

Got this shirt the other day. Not gonna wear it today, it’s just a “wear it around town whenever” choice for me.

Today, I’ll be dressed sharp, wearing my cowboy hat and breaking up my face with items.
This is a day where we stand up for America and American values, and against anti-American values.
250 years ago, we founded the Continental Army for that same reason. That’s how far We The People are willing to go for freedom, liberty, and justice, and to overthrow authoritarian rule. We did it before, it’s in our blood.

I get what you’re saying. I considered it. But, the act of tyranny is not isolated to a single person right now. Noem is the face of tyranny. Using “tyrant” implies trump, and only trump, is the tyrant. That is not the case.

Everyone be careful out there, keep an eye out for threats. They’ve murdered the Minnesota speaker of the house today already, they won’t stop there.
We’re still going, but keep your head on a swivel.

The rain is pouring in NYC.  I am about to get dressed and head in that direction.  I have a hooded Pancho and an umbrella. This thing starts at Bryant Park and then heads uptown.  Not sure exactly where.  No signs because of the rain.

Just saw a white dude whose shirt said:

“You know it’s bad when a straight, white dude has a marching.”

I bet there’s 5K people out here

Oh, and to follow up: now more then ever, GET OUT THERE.
We don’t bow to tyrants, we don’t bow to terrorists.

My parents are marching in their small, conservative Midwestern town this morning. A couple thousand protesters showed up. From the photos they sent, it looks like almost entirely middle aged and elderly white people.

All done in Houston. 100% peaceful. Didn’t see any counter protestors, either. No idea on crowd size but I’d guess at least 5k. It’s hot. No pics.

Yeah they’re at different times in every city. Houston might not be “officially” over but I made it to the end of the march so I wandered off.
