Not counting kneeldowns, after the first quarter our drives were
12 plays, 75 yards
14 plays, 75 yards
13 plays, 65 yards
4 plays, 7 yards
7 plays, 42 yards

That is 4 out of 5 drives executed very well against a very good Oklahoma defense. 50 plays for 264 yards at 5.3 yards per play doesn't jump off a stat sheet but against that defense it was pretty damn good, especially compared to how the offense had been performing.

Don’t have the play-by-play on those drives but don’t recall there being the drive killing penalties on the first TD that have plagued them so often

Here's your play-by-play.

Eight drivable possessions (two more were end of half, end of game), we scored four times - three FG and a TD for a total of 16 points.

For reference, had we done that against tOSU, we'da won. There's a reason for the Take the Points motto.

Gruntled to see Sark appears to have gotten the message.

Sark’s gonna have to slowly build to a downfield passing attack. But with this kind of defense you just play “move the chains” ball until that part clicks, go with a lot more of the quick game - Screens/slants/shallow crosses

It’s what made the gameplan last week so fucking stupid.

Watching the replays a couple times now. I really like what I saw from Zina and Spence.

Not sure what Trey Moore’s role on this team is. Zina and Spence are suddenly better off the edge and Ty’Anthony is better at LB. It sucks for the kid, but it happens all the time on elite teams.

Brooks settled down, and is a hell of a lot better than Stroh. I’m pretty sure I didn’t see his fat pale ass out. Good.

Gotta get Baxter back. We don’t have shit at RB behind Tre.

No drops or big penalties at WR. Honestly , I’ll take it right now. I think we fucked up not taking Branch from USC. He’s a complete WR this season, and he can house short passes. That is a skill set not currently on the roster

Three big things from Saturday

1. Simmons playing more like he did last year was very good to see. Had me worried about a sophomore slump but that game should set him up for the next few.
2. Spence was supposed to get more playing time early In the year then it didn’t happen. Get him on the field.
3. it’s nice to not have a heart attack EVERY special teams play. Field goals are so much better and getting the return was awesome.
