Oh, there's tool in front of us this year that has a Trump #47 jersey he wears every week.

If you drink enough beer and eat enough chili, you can vomit all over his back every single home game.

Actual flag vs. flag-themed apparel

Most flag etiquette organizations and legal experts draw a clear line between wearing a physical flag and wearing clothing with a flag's likeness.

Wearing a physical flag: Draping an actual flag over your shoulders or using it as a cape is considered disrespectful by most Americans and violates the Flag Code.

Wearing flag-themed clothing: Items like t-shirts, shorts, or hats that feature the stars and stripes pattern are acceptable to many. The American Legion states that unless an item is made from an actual flag, wearing flag-themed apparel is not a breach of flag etiquette but an expression of patriotism.

Based on Chuckie's post, one player actually spoke and he agreed with his message, but then Chuckie looked around and assumed 80% of the fans and 90% of the players were MAGA.  Just based on looks.  He couldn't enjoy a Savannah Bananas game because 90+% of the players (in uniform, mind you) LOOKED like they were probably MAGA.

If you wanna look me in the eyes and tell me that I have mischaracterized the political leanings of the 20-something white male baseball playing population, I’m all ears.

There’s a chance you could be wrong. Only way to tell is you look deep into their eyes and look into their souls.

There are probably 50 reasons I wouldn’t enjoy a Savannah Bananas game before I got to their political leanings

Petty died eight years ago, to the day.

Crazy. I really miss him.  The last video interview of him with Gary Shandling at his home/studio at Malibu is so haunting.  Both gone.

That is funny. Truth told, Superbowl halftimes have sucked since the Tom Petty show.

I enjoyed Kendrick Lamar this year.

Well, yeah, he got those from Apollo. Not sure if Rocky washed them before giving them back like Apollo asked.

Same, I tried watching a couple of games, but it's terrible. The old XFL of baseball.

Honestly, sports were ruined before MAGA came along. Video review ruined sports a long time ago, and I blame ESPN and network TV for that.

Review should have a time limit in every sport of, say, 45 seconds. If it's not obvious enough to change the call in that amount of time, then the call on the field stands. The way it is now is beyond idiotic.

There's a mechanic across the street from where I work that I have been going to for years. Honest guy, always helpful, good prices, can't complain. I brought my car in a few weeks ago for some brake work and saw him wearing a MAGA hat and shirt in the office. I told him I can't do business with him anymore and walked out.

Who the hell wears MAGA stuff in a business you own? That is a special kind of stupid.

Wife wanted the house painted so I call a company. Company owner looks it over. Comes back and we sit out back on the patio. In the middle of the proposal he "How about that Charlie Kirk shooting". At that moment if the proposal was 2 dollars he wasn't getting it! I don't give a fuck who recommended you or how good your price is. Fuck you. So I told my wife yesterday no more white owned companies. Not because white but because the percentage chance of MAGA. And that's a shame too. I shouldn't have to think like that but I will be damned if I give someone thousands and thousands so they can vote for this bullshit.

As far as sports go, I have been slowly fazing out pro sports since Kaepernick. My wife ran track for Nevada and is friends with both Kap and Javale McGee(yes she is younger than me). So we were pretty pissed when that whole thing went down. Trump just added to that. Same with coming back to the 40. MAGA has infiltrated it for a few years now, and I cannot bring myself to go back often for fear of hating what it's become.

Who hires white people to do manual labor anyway? Do you want quality work AND a good price? I can direct you to amazing people.

Javale! Always had a soft spot for him and drafted him many times on my fantasy basketball teams as a reserve back in the day.

I saw him walking through IAH a few years ago and wanted to say hi, but he had that exact face on so I didn't, lol.

I didn't know much of Kendrick Lamar until the halftime show and enjoyed it.

The guarantee of having a negative experience is going in with a negative attitude. I assume that the anti Bad Bunny bias will get louder and louder. I have to assume Trump will butt into it soon when he needs a distraction. Hispanic events make too many MAGA think of illegal Mexicans, Spanish being spoken and the eventual move to white, non-Hispanics losing their majority status.

Are you speaking to something unique about a Bananas crowd that gives you that impression as opposed to any other sports crowd in this part of the country? Or groupings of people in general these days? I just assume that unless it's an artistic or education or cultural focused event that 75% to 90% of everyone around me is a raging asshole, politically speaking.

My issue with the Bananas is simply the proposition that a summer evening at a ballgame needed to be optimized.

I'll never understand the complaints. It's a fun product that I can appreciate without interfering with my appreciation for a regular game too. I think NASCAR is quite literally the dumbest "sport" to ever exist. It's fucking cars driving in circles for crying out loud and even live the action passes your seats only occassionally. But there's an audience for it so it has a right to exist and I just don't watch.

The only rendition of the SSB that I can relate to is when it is played on a musical saw. Mournful. Plaintive.

As a kid I watched people lose their minds when this happened

jfc he has been doing that goofy fucking dance for a while now, huh?

The guy is just a massive tool.  I expect he has been hated all his life by neighbors, schoolmates, everyone that didn't have to suck up to him for one reason or another.

If he hadn't inherited millions from his drunken slumlord father, we'd have never heard of him.

It's not terribly different than your average baseball game crowd, except subtract all of the businesspeople and replace them with the parents that log their 7 year old kid's little league stats into an app.

I can see that I guess, there does seem to be a special appeal to the suburban family crowd and this demographic.

And to be clear to my earlier point - I have no problem with the product that the Bananas put on and it was an enjoyable evening by any description.  My frustration is that our society's desire to unify and enjoy each other's company seemingly evaporates once you exit the ballpark gates.
