Trump can’t take power with 40% of the vote, and he couldn’t even do it with 45% of the vote.

Call me hysterical, but SCOTUS has already enabled one losing candidate to take office.  I would not be so sure that a contested election can't swing to Trump.

I’ve seen that and refuted it. The likelihood of Arizona going for Kari lake approaches zero. If you’re really worried about Arizona voting for a Democratic senator and Donald Trump on the same day, we can just agree to disagree.

We have experience here -- Biden won by 0.4%.  What makes you think that margin will improve or even be safe?  I think the Kari Lake argument is a step removed.

Contrast that with Hitler who continued to grow and cultivate his followers, and who used his rallies and their speeches to refine his message that was about an ideology that was far bigger than himself.

Good thing is that Trump can’t think past himself. He doesn’t think in terms of a thousand year reich, or even a lasting legacy. Such things don’t matter to him because he won’t get anything from them as he will be dead.

Can you envision a scenario where they vote for Gallegos but leave the top of the ticket blank? That’s the problem

Any R elected to Pres in the foreseeable future will be all too happy to implement/let others implement the project 2025 agenda. That's the bigger picture and it all ends very badly because the R party is a treasonous cesspool.

10,500 votes separated them in Arizona in ‘20. Biden has a small margin of error going into November

All we can look at are past results to discuss future elections. It’s going to be close and Biden can’t afford for many voters to decide to skip him and also votes Democrats down ballot. I think (hope) that when the day comes, they come to their senses and vote for Biden

Then you should look at the 2022 midterms and all of the special elections nationwide since Roe was overturned and look at how the Democrats did relative to the Republicans. even when they didn’t win, they strongly outperformed in almost every case compared to historic norms.

So what you’re saying is you think Biden will be treated differently by a substantial portion of these voters who are changing their minds about where Republicans are taking this country and leave him off their ballots. Seems highly unlikely to me but of course not impossible.

I would be less surprised by a Biden victory in Florida than I would be with a Gallego victory combined with a Biden loss in Arizona

And I would be absolutely shocked by a Gallego loss

This.  Even when Hitler went off-script and rambled, he was able to bring it back to the overall theme.

Trump has teleprompter problems and goes into a bizarre ramble that invokes his MIT professor uncle (who died 40 years ago and had not taught at MIT in over 50 years, when Trump was 27) because Trump’s 20-something self is still impressed by what his uncle did in the 1950s snd 1960s at MIT.

And because Trump fucks up something simple about batteries, he commits the verbal equivalent of his drawing on a hurricane map with a Sharpie, and goes back out at another rally and wastes 5 minutes talking about batteries and sharks again, because he’s butthurt that people mocked him on late night TV.  He was a step away from blaming all shark attacks on Biden.

The end result is that Trump generated another data point for his being a fucking thin-skinned dumbass who had to double down when a late night TV host mocked him.

Yeah, trumpism could end up being the Trojan horse that the christofascists use to get inside the walls and wreak their havoc.

Nobody is going to pay attention to that guy, and Trump himself absolutely wouldn’t want anyone taking over after him and possibly outdoing him so he won’t be anointing somebody.

The main and most important difference between maga and the nazis is that maga is made up of the dumbest of the dumb. Led by slightly more intelligent morons.

The Nazis were brilliant and brutally efficient. If not for the hubris of their leaders they could have held on to most of Europe.

Thats not true at all. Early Nazis were, by and large, fringe morons. Like MAGA, they took control by riding on the backs of by-the-book establishment conservatives who never imagined that an imbecile-driven political steamroller could just ignore traffic rules and squash everything in its path.

Only after Hitler became entrenched in power did Nazi affiliation expand to subsume intelligent, capable bureaucrats, military officers, etc. Before that, it was just a weirdo populist rabble.

No, they absolutely were not.

This. The core dozen or so Hitler sycophants were largely officers who had fallen out of favor, got addicted to morphine, and/or or didn't have much going for them at the time. Until Hitler got arrested, they were just extremists and largely a laughing stock. The party never won an election. Just a bunch of unapologetic opportunists and brown shirts taking what they wanted from a society that didn't know how to handle the rhetoric and violence.

That's a sick joke, but I think it encapsulates their sheer incompetence.

The nazis didn't make trains run on time either. You've bought into a myth about nazis that was generated decades after they'd been defeated because it made for more exciting drama in stories.

Man, talk about timing. Not even Biden's campaign thinks Florida is in play:

They annihilated 8mm ethnic minorities in 2.5 years.  I'd say that makes them efficient.  Evil, but effective.  Things don't precisely as planned with a hefty chunk of good luck at Normandy, and the Soviets don't have millions of troops into the meat grinder...we likely see a Europe still living under Nazi rule.

The average German in 1939 is far more educated and reasoned than the average MAGAT in 2019.  Trump, thankfully is nearly 30 years older than Hitler.  And because of his scrape to the top, Hitler knows when to fold 'em.  Trump is gonna fight and bitch and moan until his last dying breath, which may not occur for another decade.

There was twitter chatter this weekend about anti-trunp billboards going up in Florida, and it seems to be working from what people on the ground are saying. It’s not the DNC putting up the billboards though.

With these CONVICTED billboards with trunp’s pic on them and others going up all across the country, it angers me that is has to be outside groups doing this and not the official dem party, unless they can’t do that. Then I’ll put my anger somewhere else

The average German before Hitler took power in 1933 was still dealing with WWI shit, food insecurity, bank insecurity, etc.

And when Hitler took control in 1933, one out of three Germans were out of work.

When January 6th happened, it wasn’t tens ofmillions of out-of-work Republicans hitchhiking to D.C. to brawl with the police, it was a few thousand mentally ill people like Ashli Babbit and the Qanon shaman nut, and people who literally had more than enough money to take off from work and head off to D.C., and who were not afraid of legal issues because they were entitled little shits

Trump is a 70-something lifelong millionaire who has been given everything he wanted in life, and who ran because a Black man dared joke about him. Hitler was a 40-something who wanted power because he was the biggest little emo shit in all of Europe who, and like all liberal arts majors, felt like the world was against him.  Plus, he has the shadow hanging over him of his grandmother who was a Schicklgruber, which I believe is German for “poor illiterate peasant who gives hand jobs behind the cardboard dumpster at HEB and who will let you put the tip in, just the tip, for 20 extra pfennigs” and said grandmother may have let a Jewish guy put a little more than the tip in.

That point being, could maga organize or maintain the infrastructure to do ANYTHING?

Jfc , it's like I'm playing checkers with gruhorns kids.
