Vandy's Drew Dickey is out.  Regents School of Austin Alumni, family, and friends will be disappointed.  Now that Will Stone is transferring, there will be zero representation....

Pete Thamel may be making an assumption based on the availability report but he’s reporting Arch is set to start.

Why would they take him off the report if he's not available? He's going to start.

Just hit short passes he’s supposed to and don’t be so behind on throws and we’re good.  If not and he’s 7/18 or whatever in the first half again we’re screwed.

This does not seem like a great idea, he takes huge shots every game. The guy is not very elusive or savvy in terms of protecting himself. That being said, hope he balls.

Surly Usual Suspect Game Thread and/or Arch thread commentary/analysis prediction for post-game tomorrow:

Caldwell Starts, Loses:  Fuck Sark.  Please leave for the NFL.  Too much of a pussy to play a healthy Manning because of Woke optics and it cost us the season.

Caldwell Starts, Wins:  Caldwell Should Starts! Sark is such a fucking moron.  We would clearly be a 1 loss top 5 team if he hadn't promised Manning the starting job and played the best available after OSU.

Manning Starts, gets re-injured:  Sark should be fired FOR CAUSE immediately for playing a clearly concussed player.  No buyout.  Get the lawyers on it.

Manning Starts, Loses:  Sark is a moron. Playing a clearly injured Manning cost us the season.   Please leave for the NFL.

Manning Starts, Wins:   Half of Surly finds 10 different things to bitch about and are miserable in victory regardless.  Half of Surly is convinced we don't lose another game until Fall 2027 (at the earliest).

It's your classic lose-lose, win-lose,  lose lose lose/lose, lose/lose/lose, win -lose-lose-lose-lose lose-lose-lose-lose-lose-lose and lose situation.

This is one of the dumbest things Sark has done during his tenure. If this blows up and Arch gets injured again this will be talked about non-stop in the media.

Lanoris Sellers played one week after a concussion against Vanderbilt. He threw for 300+ yards and 2 TDs.  Not approving or disapproving, just adding for context.

He was cleared and the family was clearly onboard with the decision. I don’t put this on sark at all. I’m not sure sitting him this week and playing against Georgia in his 1st game back is any safer.

LSU 9, Alabama 6 (November 5, 2011)
Auburn 3, Mississippi State 2 (September 13, 2008)

Arch seems like the kind of dude that would want to play... so maybe this was more of Arch pushing the timetable on the return and less Sark pushing him out there. I doubt the Manning camp would want to put him in harms way, unless Arch himself put his foot down. Plus he already had to watch Caldwell score the winning TD after he brought the team back, I doubt he wants to give him a chance to shine against Vandy, pride and all that.

TEs say W by 2TDs. They are vibin. I want a 56-3 type of beat down coming out. 300 yards rushing combined. 225 yards passing and 2 punt returns.

Man I'd be so happy for Scott Wilson

Wonder if Scott would want to be buried in a Texas jersey….if so….what number?

I was referring to the number of Wingo fingers required for a catch.  Not the O/U of the game.

Well he was hot at the end of the game so maybe he can keep out going tomorrow

I'm not keen on it, but all he has to do is move the chains - the defense is going to win or lose this thing.

I see Vandy as similar to KSU teams of the past--play fundamentally well, and don't give the ball away, while capitalizing on the other team's turnovers.  27-17 Horns.  Sark takes the points early and gets two field goals to ease the pressure.  Vandy's last td is again in garbage time, and I have an active imagination, but this is what I'd sure love to happen.

why is Will Stone transferring?  I never heard the story. Did he want more than kick off duties?

There is zero medical evidence that sitting out extra time after you are cleared from a concussion makes you less likely to suffer another one.

Holding him out would pretty much be all optics, which I get, but harsh reality is there is no amount of extra rest that would prevent you from suffering another one if his head slams against the ground in a similar way as last week. It’s football and unfortunately those type of hits happens.

Beat Vandy.

Some clean pocket grades

Ty Simpson 91.0, Behren Morton 88.8, Gunnar Stockton 88.1, Arch Manning 87.3

Noted draft bust Justin Field NFL career 86.2

Maybe the issue is not understanding the stat. Also, a key factor of QB play is getting rid of the ball, Manning is pressured more than anyone partially because our OL sucks but also partially because he holds the ball longer than most QBs.

perhaps, but the idea that someone was putting out was that Manning is praying the ball around in clean pockets. That is not consistent with the numbers, which I am sure you would agree with. His self-pressure numbers are actually very respectable. I think some the issue is people not understanding TTT stat and the variables that go into it. Even Sark has said that number is up based on his play calling, but few seem to understand that aspect

I think Home/Road environments have the biggest effect on the OLs. Crowd noise reduces their advantage of knowing the snap count, and gives the DLine relatively quicker get off. I think our OL line plays better today as a result of the home field and another week of practice for the young guys. Arch will have just a little more time and it will make all the difference. I think Texas wins by 10-17 in a game that doesn’t feel particularly close.

Maybe they did a factory reset and rebooted his Os. Now we get the arch we’ve waited for

Did they also reboot Sark’s and transfer in some better blockers?
