Sent a text to my aggy niece and her TT husband …

WHOOP!

Texas Tech chose well not showing up last week against Oregon.  Indiana would have tracked them in on the rug …

So what is Cignetti specialty?

His feet are light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, the judge. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

I just can't imagine this straight laced guy in Vegas.
He didn't even have a girlfriend in the stands.

And Jesus is well known to be taking detours around Las Vegas city limits!

It's hard not to love Mendoza the dork and this Indiana team.

Easier money

There ya go. It may get bet up. We'll see.

I was just guessing the line - not commenting on what I think of either team. I think around a TD is about right though.

I wish it was less so I could hedge my Miami NC ticket better. May just let it ride.

I heard on the radio this morning that Indiana has more living alumni than any other US college or university. I looked on wiki and they list their current systemwide enrollment as 110,000. The have a bunch of campuses around the state and consider them all part of the main university, even though a few play sports separately in the NAIA, so I guess they all consider themselves IU Hoosiers. It's not like like UT or Cal where the big system schools operate separately and have their own D1 athletics programs so there's no real loyalty to the main campus sports programs unless it's by independent choice. IU also has more promininet alumni than I thought, way beyond Cuban. The conversation was that there's no reason IU can't be a big time football program going forward if the investment is there even after Cignetti retires. With those resources though I'm surprised IU basketball hasn't made much noise over the last several decades except for a blip here and there since that's been their deal historically.

So they basically apply Aggie math to their number of students?

I knew Lanning was a clown when he was dancing around with McAfee shirtless and standing on a chair during GameDay.

Cocaine a hell of a drug etc etc

I knew that Hoosier meant "resident of Indiana," but I did not know that it only means that, and nobody really knows why. So yes I assume the whole state will be in Miami.

Probably, just most of the city of Carnel. The rest of the state can't afford to travel.

What a throughout asskicking. If you're Oregon, what more can you actually do to get to a championship at this point?

It’s a slow build. Next year Texas can drill them by 30+ in the final.

So do we still want Dan Lanning? I mean he's better than Sark, right?

The truth just might be that this year's Indiana team is just like 2019 LSU. They're "that fucking team" that put it all together at the right time because of coaching and team cohesion. They are a unicorn and not something every SEC, ACC, or Big 10 team can replicate easily. It could also be another instance of a team of veteran players rallying behind a great QB. Miami could very easily beat this team with their defense. It could be a really fun title game. It would be nice if we could just sit back and let it play out instead of trying to think piece this team to death.

There will be a lot of salty people if fucking Indiana wins the NC (which they are going to).

I can't fucking wait, lmao

Miami will have close to 10 penalties and 2-3 turnovers. They may keep it close but field position is going to strongly favor IU imo

They are the best team in the country this year, with a core of veteran players who have bought in 100% to the Coach’s redass process, has the Heisman winner, AND has had incredible luck on the turnover front as well. That’s a great recipe for beating the shit out of everyone.

I’m not sure this team is the 95 Huskers, 01 Hurricanes, or 05 Texas, but they are as strong a contender as we’ve seen since 2019 LSU.

Yep. Saw somewhere the average age of the starters is 23. These are grown ass men. There’s your differential with star rankings. Years and size.

There’s something to this. Older, veteran players that are NFL age.

Problem is how do you sustain this.

I really want to see them finish this against Miami. This is one of the biggest stories in modern football history. Awful program that has never won anything gets a new coach and 2 years later they raise the trophy. There will be books and 30 for 30 stuff on them.

I think equally important will be how they did it in the playoffs. Beat downs in each game, no flukes or doubt as to who the better team was in each matchup.

Everyone is clowning on Oregon rn, and they should. But that weird ass fumble on the 5 yard line was a byproduct of Oregon having to use their 5th string running back who was a freshman. Cignetti admitted that losing the defensive back on the opening kick fucked up his defenses spacing on Oregon’s second drive.

Maybe this culture is sustainable, but I need to see it with 19 year olds to believe.

Yeah, and about 2019 LSU, we had those sons of bitches beat until third-and-Orlando.

BTW, Orlando's Peter-Principled himself all the way up to DC at South Alabama, where Major's the HC. They beat Western Michigan in a bowl this year--must have somehow avoided having to defend a third and 17.

Ohio State may want to consider hanging a banner in the practice facility showing they only lost Indiana by 3.

I just got up and am not scrolling through 23+ pages. Have we seen someone here (or I’m sure on SEC Rant) explaining how Indiana would have 3-4 losses in the SECX3 and not even be in the playoffs? I’m sure that narrative is out there.

Would face heavy litigation from a&m, as they are the ones who celebrate losses.
