2020 Presidential Election -- Biden v Trump: Sleepy Joe vs Dopey Don [Results begin on page 409]

I understand that logistically this is likely the longest lines will be until election day, but these images from around the country are fucking unbelievable.

I couldn't snap a picture of my polling place in Timbergrove, because it's a drive through location. But the line of cars at 7:45 this morning was probably half a mile back from the entrance to the church.  I'd estimate there were easily about 100-150 cars inline. I *think* there's also a walk in polling spot as well, but I'm going to have to investigate, maybe at lunch.. I drive by it every morning on the way to work, so I am happy to keep folks updated on how it looks the next couple weeks.

I'm assuming this is going to all die down in  a few days when the diehards finish voting.

Love seeing the turnout.  Moar democracy pr0n, please!

How refreshing to see that the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, sitting a three-man slate of Trump appointees, reversed a lower court ruling, thus reinstating Greg Abbott's "one dropoff box per county" rule in Texas.  One judge even pointed out that Abbott shouldn't have made the call, and that it's the legislature's job to set election law.  So, he acknowledges the impropriety of the action but supports it.  Cool.  They're not even trying to hide it.

Ah well, nevertheless

Do you honestly believe the numbers being reported worldwide as the numerator?  China at less than 100k dead?  No way man.
They're decent for the US and the rest of the west, which was the comparison you made made and continue to just ignore data on.

People generally don’t wake up early, haul their asses to the polls, and stand in line for 3-4 hours just to support status quo.

Don't forget that he's ignoring the data in favor of a completely improvable supposition on his part. "Listen, the China numbers aren't real."

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but you dont know it, you can't prove it, and citing it as some kind of bedrock or foundational truth is fucking absurd.

"China's numbers are fake."
"It's going to disappear, like a miracle, soon."
"Biden wants to ban fracking!"
"My rallies have the most beautiful people."

All of those, abjectly are fucking lies. The assault on truth is just phenomenal, and it starts with just the smallest little shit but like water will destroy everything given enough time. "The numbers aren't real." "Masks don't help." "Child sacrificing satanists."

But that wasn’t what originally started this. It was kids in cages.

I started this.  And you left out "...as a deterrent."  I put that in there, because I have run into enough disingenuous fucktards who will "but-Obama" this topic, using the same stale bullshit you are using.  It's neither insightful nor original.  It's just the standard attempt to muddy the water, so you don't have to address the fact that the political party (or political faction) you support is morally bankrupt.  I'm sure you consider yourself as some sort of free thinker, but the reality is you are just regurgitating the same bullshit that every other Trump apologist does without actually researching it or examining it under the light of critical thought.

I know you know this, but most of them only get their "news" from FOX, and they're told that "Trump is simply continuing Obama's policies".  They truly believe it.  They wouldn't fact-check because they don't believe any other media source is legitimate.  This goes for sites like snopes & politifact as well.

Imagine if Texas had a state government that anticipated record voter turn out and encouraged, rather then suppressed voting.

Or people could wait a few days instead of thinking today is the only day to vote.

I know the polling numbers say otherwise, but I almost have more faith in Texas going blue this year than Florida.

Florida was really eye opening in 2018.  Even in the midst of a blue wave, and even after correcting for the errors of 2016, DeSantis and Scott both won, even though polls said both would lose.

Yep. Just can't trust Floridians.

Didn't Florida pass that re-enfranchisement of felons measure in 2018? I haven't really seen any discussion of the number of voters back on the rolls as a result or any potential impact but it seems like it was being framed as a huge deal at the time.

Yeah, they are.

How long before we start hearing about trumpkins with no intention of voting getting in line in dem heavy places  just to clog things up.

Hearing reports of 2-hour waits at UP Methodist this morning. I think I'll wait until later this week to vote.

Didn't Florida's system accidentally crash on the last day of registrations as well?

If that means they aren’t in line at their designated polling location to vote, then fuck ‘em.

Yes, but Desantis actually did the right thing and extended it.

Based on this morning's 538 analysis, this is where things currently stand. Toss-ups are those states where the polls show the margin to be 3.0% or less.

Don't give credit where it is not due.  The Florida Secretary of State extended the deadline AFTER a lawsuit had been filed.  DeSantis had jack shit to do with the decision.

What’s going on with Maine and Nebraska?

When was the last fucking time the margin in AZ was 3% or less?

Think of it as senators voting and congressman voting.  overall winner gets two votes. Each congressional district gets one vote.

So you could give Dotard every toss-up state there, including Arizona, and then also give him Florida.... and he still loses? Is that right?

Not that many.  The state has worked overtime to stop them from voting. By such measures as insisting that all fines be paid before voting rights can be restored, but not having an accurate, easily accessible record of the amount of the fine.

For example, https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/elections/2020/10/07/florida-ruled-felons-must-pay-to-vote-now-it-doesnt-know-how-many-can/

Yes, if Biden wins PA + WI + MI + MN + NV + NH, that puts him at 278.  That's why the Rs have been jacking with PA so much - they really need to be able to contest one or more of those states.  Of course, the fact that Biden is also leading in AZ, FL and NC means that they're going to have to unveil some master class fuckery pre- and post-election.

Wouldn’t criminals be more likely to vote for one of their own?
