2022 Senate Elections

Ghost of LL

I’m watching the game on fubo and it’s an Omaha channel. They are showing the senate ads and the GQP guy is running against socialists and criminal loving leftists. He has AOC in 3 scenes. She is their heads.

Which race? Iowa (Grassley)? It’s an off cycle for Nebraska Senators, unless at state level. The House race would be Bacon v Vargas.

Wow, Vance agreed to more than 1 Debate? I give him slightly more credit than the Majority of the gop candidates.

he's dumber than i thought.

none of these moron trumpers should agree to any debates, it only hurts them.  they rely on the team sport/fox news/facebook aspect and that's all they'll need most places.

Vance is one of the few chances to bring some normalcy back to the R party imo. He’d be a cornyn or something.  He’s gotta act like a retard to get office in MAGA era but I don’t think that’s where his true beliefs are.

There is no normalcy there

Lol wut:

Quote

“We are in a late republican period,” Vance said later, evoking the common New Right view of America as Rome awaiting its Caesar. “If we’re going to push back against it, we’re going to have to get pretty wild, and pretty far out there, and go in directions that a lot of conservatives right now are uncomfortable with.”

Quote

“I think Trump is going to run again in 2024,” he said. “I think that what Trump should do, if I was giving him one piece of advice: Fire every single midlevel bureaucrat, every civil servant in the administrative state, replace them with our people.”

“And when the courts stop you,” he went on, “stand before the country, and say —” he quoted Andrew Jackson, giving a challenge to the entire constitutional order — “the chief justice has made his ruling. Now let him enforce it.”

I've fallen for this before.  True beliefs don't matter.  The second they get elected it's about getting re-elected.

How did you come to this conclusion? I mean I believe that's what you hope for... but nothing seems to point to that direction.

I remember his pre-2016 writings, where he acknowledged Trump was a bit of an idiot and his stuff was absurd.  I think those are his true beliefs instead of being another Ron Johnson or something.  I think the new stuff is political opportunism.  Who knows what he’ll be like in 10 years, but my guess is that if he had freedom to not just repeat MAGA themes he wouldn’t.

Even with my low expectations, I never thought I’d see them all just pretend that their mentally challenged Senate candidate’s toy badge is real. I don’t know what country will eventually conquer us, but I wish they’d hurry up and put us out of our misery.

"For all he's done for this country."  What is that, exactly?

He'll be like Lindsey Graham.

Jesus fucking christ, the guys who aren't true believers but go along out of opportunism are the most dangerous of all.  Probably the worst nazi of them all, Reinhard Heydrich, wasn't a true believer in fascism or notably more antisemitic than any other nazi. He just wanted to be important, so he orchestrated the Holocaust.

I'm stumped about this election. With inflation/economy, I don't see how Dems hang onto power. But then the Rep candidates seem really, really bad... and then there is the whole undermining democracy and women's rights bullshit.

The GOP really screwed the pooch with the Oz and Herschel picks. They would be running away with GA polls with a no-name candidate. I don't know if I would go quite as far in saying the GOP would be in the lead in PA but Oz has made too many unforced errors.

Well let me un-stump you.  The vast majority of people are fucking stupid and we are doomed.
